estbritfan - the show down with shelob in shelob's lair... that was definitely the best part of the second book.. i was totally looking forward to that, and it appears ill have to wait another year for it...

I saw it tonight Hella awesome.

Gollum, the former hobbit was done VERY, very well. The character he's become, with allthei nternal conflict and talking to himself I can't see being done any better.

I thought the Ents were cool, though they probably had the vaguest discription in the books, mostly dependant on tree type i think, but thye were still great. Their slowness to decide anything was pretty well done.

It was A LOT better than the first one. I recommend seeing it again, even if you haven't seen it once yet

It was the climax on Frodo and Sam's side anyway. There's still another Helm's Deep type battle to happen I think.
