it wouldn't be a Jake movie without him touching/almost touching himself. :x He does have a solo sex scene...in a bathroom stall to a picture of his girlfriend...while Nirvana is playing no less :x There is a lot of Jake ass too...and two santa hats and a g-string... *cough*

I thought everyone did an excellent job...especially with what they had to work with! It was actually a really funny movie (even though it did have it's emotional parts too). I think it's really easy for people to misunderstand this film. People will enjoy it a lot more as long as they realize that it's all from his perspective.

Spoiler!
I've been reading other people's opinions on it, and a lot of people hate it because of the "anti-american" messages that it supposedly sends from some of the soldiers. Some people may have felt that way, but I didn't at all. Yeah it shows them being undisiplined, and no I've never been in the marines, but there is no doubt that shit like that goes on somewhere (you know...people acting a fool, shooting camels, whatever). They didn't say that everyone in the marines acted like that, so I think people need to stop overreacting. It's a story about one man's perspective of the marines and if people are going to take it so seriously as to believe that's what happened scene for scene then they really don't need to see it anyway. That's my opinion, anyway. It seems like it has some emotion truth to it to me as well.

A lot of parts got to me, like when Troy was freaking out and some parts with Swoff, but when the Vietnam veteran got on the bus and was talking to them and shaking their hands, I thought that was pretty emotional.

Oh and I, like a lot of people in the theater, thought Sykes (Foxx) was the one who had died, so when they showed Troy (Sarsgaard) in the coffin it freaked us out a little.
