as moderator here id like to inform you guys at this section if i dont post much, I am not ignoring the tv and movies discussion section of bsn. i think my computer is shot for good. i had a power outtage and couldnt get to it in time to shut it off, even though i have a surge.

Most likely you don't have to get a new computer, getting a new powersupply can do wonders...
