Just can't get enough of Chicago? Well, you're in luck -- Coming Soon! and Variety are reporting that Mirimax will give Chicago another send off theatrically to promote the DVD release. Only this time it will be a new cut with one more musical sequence, which will also appear on the DVD (presumably the previously deleted "Class," which also appears on the soundtrack.)

Variety talks about a possible re-release for the award-winning film and the upcoming DVD:

Miramax, which earlier this year said it would re-release "Confessions of a Dangerous Minds" in August, now plans to return Oscar best pic "Chicago" to theaters in July.
In both cases, theatrical re-releases will serve to hype a release of the pic in homevid the next month.

The "Chicago" run will feature a new version of the movie that includes an additional song-and-dance number cut from the original theatrical release. Homevid version of the awards-laden musical, which hits retail shelves Aug. 19, also will feature the additional scene.

Miramax refused to confirm any of the re-release plans. But a well-placed source said distrib was close to locking in on a July 18 slotting for the re-release.

im a big fan of Chicago, so i hope this is true!!

so they're going to re-release it just because there is one more scene in it? that's pretty stupid and a waste of money and time if you ask me! "Come and see Chicago again with one more scene!" especially since the DVD is going to come with it anywayz,

i mean if any movie should be re-released it should be a LOTR film, cuz they have SO much more extra footage

but I'm probably just bitchin' because I don't like Chicago, except "When You're Good To Mama", that was funny

i can't wait.chicago is my favorite movie.even though i agree it is somewhat stupid to re'release it for one scene but oh well i'm gonna go watch it.lol

even though I LOVE the movie. i not gonna watch it if it re-releases especially since there is only 1 month till the dvd release after it.

Wow i love Chicago, the dvd looks good and the songs are great , the acting is good the story seems a bit weak but thats ok, i love Catherine-zeta-jones!!!

i bought the dvd last week... the place I work got it early and I bought it as soon as we got it!! I love that movie!
