Default The Animatrix

i just picked up the dvd today.... ive watched most of them, and i absolutely love them! some of the short films have ties directly to characters in the movie (reloaded)... you can download some of them (probably all of them) off the net, so definitely check them out...

i love how the anime artists have taken on their interpretations of the matrix... its very stylistic and a definite treat...

The first is, needless to say, pretty sweet - also because it provides information about what's going on in Reloaded (one should actually watch this one between Matrix and M:Reloaded), the second and third were pretty interesting as well... but the rest were blah IMO. Didn't bother to watch them all.

i loved "beyond"...

the great thing aboot these films is they're set in a similar type of innocence and naivety that we would feel if we had just learned we were in the matrix...

for all those people complaining that reloaded didn't have enough "plot" or development" then the second renassaince I & II are must sees...

Yeah I agree with that, the first three were definitely the best, I liked some of the other ones as well (the detective one was pretty cool too). There were a couple though towards the end which seemed to be just be being weird for the sake of it, or a made by some people who'd be smoking things they shouldn't have.

Still a good watch though, and definitely worth looking at for Matrix fans.

I think that it was bad. I stopped watching it after the first story.

i loved each of them for their own merits... the only one i didn't like was "world record"... i know what they were *trying* to do... that one just didn't work... and the last one "matriculation" was okay, but it was a little psychadelic...

as for the second last one, "a detective story" i didn't like it at first, but i thought it was marvellous... what these stories are trying to implement into your brain is that everything abnormal or magical in the world is really something to do with the matrix... every ghost story or haunted house you've heard of has been an anomoly in the matrix...

and i loved how they took the detective genre of the 50's and gave it a matrix story...

its very stylized, and i really like how each artist made each story their own...

I rent the dvd today and i must say I love it.

world record was kinda dumb... i liked the idea, a LOT, but the delivery fell short... it had potential to be really cool... *shrugs*

i wonder if any of these will be up for animated short oscars? i think Spirited Away was a huge step for anime getting recognized in american media... maybe this matrix crossover will be another...
