| It would be tacky and incredibly insensitive for them to continue the show. When the star of a show dies, you don't replace them with another star. |

| i think they should definitely continue the show... many people's careers and lives depend on the continuation of that show. bottom line: it brings home dinner for many families who are employed by it...
if you asked john ritter if he feels that all those employees should be fired and lose their jobs because he passed away, i bet he'd say no.
actors' creations are artwork, or at least they feel so... i bet he'd want the show to go on. |

| I overall agree with what pasta said plus i don't think alot of people realize that they are most likley like family on that show. It's been on a year, so they know each other very well and while it may not be as deep of a relationship as a show like friends or something that's been on longer i think it would be VERY hard for them to just say goodbye.
I think that he (john) would want the show to go on, it would be like if you were in a family buisness and your dad or whoever started it died, would he want you to say that's it and then stop whatever it is that you were doing? |

| I think its great that they're planning on continuing. Why? Because this is life. People die. If they are trying to portray a family's llife on this show, they'll have to deal with what happens in real life as well. And its also good for people who have been through a father dying, so that they can see it and relate to the show.
However, I dont know if replacing him is such a great idea. Perhaps having the show continue with the mother in the spotlight, maybe bring in an uncle every few episodes or something, but replacing him wouldn't be a great idea. It would seem too... forced. |

| To add on (i was reminded by what swany said)... I think they could center the show more around the mother.
She is a great actress and i think alot of people like her (she had a built in fan base of sorts due to married with children). I don't really think that he was THE star of the show. It was more of an ensemble (sp) cast and wasn't really on long enough to where you could pick a specific person to be the "star" of it. |

| i think it's pretty tacky and insensitive that they are carrying on without him. It's like "Yeah well John died. Camera roll please!!!" I wouldn't watch it. |

| I didn't really watch the show a lot, but when I was up visiting my cousins, I watched the show because it was one of their favorites.. and I do have to say that John made the show. I didn't think any of the other actors were at all funny. If they're going to do anything, I agree with Swany. They should bring an uncle or whoever in every so often, but not try to replace him. It would seem way too forced. |

| they could never ever ever ever replace John. But i do agree the show should go on. They should have a show dealing with his leaving. and then should center around Kate Hennesy. how a single parent now deals with 2 teenage daughters, Rory, and a new and upcoming baby. But no one could ever ever ever ever replace John Ritter. |
