| WWE Vengeance - The Official Thread | | Hey guys! Here, so far, is the card set for WWE Vengeance, coming to PPV LIVE from Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, June 26th, 2005 @ 8 P.M. ET/5 P.M. PT. This is turning out what looks to be another great PPV. So far, I'm looking most forward to Batista/Triple H III: Hell In A Cell, Triple Threat For The WWE Title: Cena/Christian/Jericho, and the Kurt/HBK rematch. WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION BATISTA VS. TRIPLE H, HELL IN A CELL
June 26, 2005 Triple H walked out of RAW several weeks ago, giving the impression that he was never coming back. With The Game gone, Ric Flair revived a relationship built on respect with Batista. Then with Batista’s guard down, the “Dirtiest Player in the Game” delivered a cheap shot to the champ. At the same time, a returning Triple H crashed the ring and decimated Batista with a sledgehammer, busting him wide open. Triple H and Ric Flair had struck again.
At the end of the brutal beating, Triple H challenged Batista to a Hell in a Cell Match. One week later, The Animal accepted Triple H’s challenge. He then snet a message to The Game by bloodying both Muhammad Hassan and Daivari. Next week on RAW, the two bitter rivals will make it official when they sign their names to the Vengeance Hell in a Cell contract. KANE vs. EDGE (w/Lita)
June 26, 2005
After weeks of enduring malicious taunts, Kane will get his chance to silence soon-to-be ex-wife Lita and her new love interest Edge. But if he falls at the pay-per-view in Las Vegas, it could be the ultimate anguish.
WATCH EDGE ANNOUNCE THE MATCH: 56k | 300k
Since Lita’s betrayal of her husband during the Gold Rush Tournament, she and Edge have done everything possible to torment Kane. Lita filed for divorce, flushed her wedding ring down the toilet and has passionately embraced Edge before Kane’s eyes.
Kane has been despondent, but his rage has also grown with each act perpetrated. At Vengeance, he’ll finally get he hands on those causing him such pain. John Cena vs. Christian vs. Chris Jericho
June 26, 2005
After RAW drafted WWE Champion John Cena from SmackDown!, General Manager Eric Bischoff was able to sign a second world championship match for Vengeance - John Cena vs. Christian.
Not including Chris Jericho didn't sit well with the host of the Highlight Reel. So in an attempt to open Bischoff's eyes, Y2J attacked Cena from behind after a match in which Y2J was actually Cena's partner. The attack was not only personal, but it also encouraged Bischoff to add Jericho to the WWE Championship Match at Vengeance. VIDEO: 56k | 300k
Will RAW's newest champion be able to walk out of Vengeance with his spinner belt? If so, he will have to fend off both Christian and Chris Jericho. KURT ANGLE vs. HBK
June 26, 2005 Kurt Angle says they stole the show at WrestleMania 21. Next, they’ll try to hit the jackpot in Vegas.
New RAW Superstar Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels renew their rivalry at Vengeance on June 26, and they’ll have their epic WrestleMania encounter to live up to.
The seeds of this rivalry were officially planted at the Royal Rumble, when HBK eliminated Angle only to have the enraged Olympic gold medalist re-enter the ring and dismantle Michaels with submission holds.
Then after weeks of sneak attacks and brawls, HBK and Angle squared off on the biggest stage of them all — and they delivered a match for the ages full of near-falls and narrow escapes. The battle concluded with Michaels trapped in Kurt’s ankle lock and nowhere to go. After a prolonged fight, HBK tapped.
“The Showstopper” clearly hasn’t forgotten how things ended in the ring in Hollywood, as the moment Angle was drafted to RAW, HBK seized the opportunity to challenge him to a pay-per-view rematch. A confident Angle promptly accepted — then reminded HBK how things ended the last time around.
Will Vengeance be another “dream match” for Angle, or will “Sweet Chin Music” find the mark in the desert? We’ll find out June 26. |

| You're very welcome T! It's been a while since I've been able to watching any wrestling and I hadn't seen any Official threads myself. So, I figured Vengeance would be a great place to start. Just recently, I found out that we're able to get UPN in our area. So over the past few weeks, I've been able to watch SD!. Pretty cool, eh?
You and me both, I can't stand him either. Your picks are the same as mine, hehe. I'll be sure to add the rest of the matches as they're announced.
Batista
HBK
John Cena
Kane |

| A match I think that might be announced will be Christy Hemme vs. Victoria. Im glad Victoria has turned heel, I like the pyscho one LOL! but I bet the WWE is gonna have Christy win, In my opinion I still dont think she is really, she shouldnt have faced Trish at Wrestlemania BUT what can ya do? "shrugs" oh well.
Also Im thinkin Mahammed Hassan vs. Shelton Benjiman for the IC Tilte.

| I think both of those as-yet-unannounced matches are very possible. But I'm not positive about Benjamin vs. Hassan. The way I see it, Hassan doesn't deserve another shot. Sure, he has a justifiable argument about getting screwed in the one-on-one match. BUT, he couldn't even win the title in a handicap match. If you can't win a handicap match in which there was no outside interference against you, there's no way you deserve another title shot.
My guess (or at least what I would like to see) is that Shelton issues a challenge to defend his title against next week's new RAW draft pick at Vengeance, seeing as how he's defeated everybody else at this point. |

| Hassan needs to look up the word 'justice' in the dictionary. I think his character is cool though, because it exemplifies quite a lot of people in this world today, and it touches base with the biggest problem we have in society, being everybody has their own little biased view on matters and they all want to be right.
Anyways, great thread, and a great card. Only I thought the HIAC was gonna be a Bad Blood exclusive, but I understand that SD has the BB PPV this year.
I'm not too thrilled about the whole thing with Lita. It doesn't suit her much, this character. She's like a heel Trish reincarnated. However, the storyline is of course based on that thing with Matt Hardy and I think it's interesting to see how Kane deals with the kind of pain that most of us get to deal with in every day life.
As far as the match goes, we've seen them go at it before in a one on one bout, so it's nothing new unless they have Lita get involved in a major way.
I must be the only one who does like to see Triple H, but only because he can bring it. I also like to see him get beat up. So I'm rooting for Batista, but he hasn't really impressed me anymore in the last few weeks. So I hope he'll put on a good match here.
Having Kurt on Raw is a great move, cause he's a master performer. Put Kurt Angle in a match, and you won't have to worry about it not becoming a great match. Raw only really has rookies such as Batista, and mid-carders such as Christian and Edge. And with Jericho in no significant story lines, Triple H and Flair were pretty much hightowering the whole bunch, but that all that drastically changes with Angle added to the show. |

| You have a good point about Kurt Angle. Everything he touches turns to gold, with the monstrous exception of his stupid ass perversion-fueled adultery storyline with Sharmell. But as for wrestling, yes, he has no bad matches.
Batista is nothing but impressive to me. I love watching him perform, talk, everything. So I'm rooting for him at Vengeance also. I think he needs to be the one guy to defeat Triple H one-on-one in the cell. Triple H needs a smudge on his career to prove he's human. Batista needs some big time credibility to be added to his title reign (which, by the way, deserves to last more than two months). And the way this is going, Batista can go down in history, at least for the time being, as the guy that Triple H could never beat. Not to mention, if Triple H wins the title at Vengeance, Batista is contractually entitled to a rematch.
Sidenote for you, Stinger: This isn't at Bad Blood because there is no Bad Blood anymore. Vengeance, which I think would typically be in July, is in June this year, coupled with the ECW PPV. July is the Great American Bash. August is Summerslam. September has Unforgiven. October is No Mercy, and so on. Personally, I think they should ressurect the King of the Ring. But that's another topic for another thread. |

| Two new matches have been added to the card for Sunday @ Vengeance, Carlito (IC Champ) vs Shelton Benjamin and Victoria vs Christy Hemme. Intercontinental Champion Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin
June 26, 2005
At Vengeance, Shelton Benjamin will get an opportunity to recapture the championship he shockingly lost to former SmackDown! Superstar Carlito this past Monday on RAW.
Shelton Benjamin’s immensely successful eight-month Intercontinental Champion reign ended in the same fashion it began — with a surprise match against a mystery opponent.
General Manger Eric Bischoff forced Benjamin to defend the Intercontinental Championship against RAW’s latest Draft Lottery selection, who turned out to be Carlito. In the match that immediately followed, Shelton again showed a willingness to take risks and do whatever it would take to retain.
For the first time, however, an athletic and dangerous move would lead to his downfall.
Benjamin attempted a soaring plancha over the top rope to Carlito on the outside, but the tip of his boot caught the top rope in the process. Benjamin corkscrewed to the concrete below, hitting Carlito but landing back- and head-first on the floor. He never fully recovered as Carlito smelled blood in the water and mounted his attack. Shelton would battle gamely, but Carlito managed a victory roll with leverage from the ring ropes to earn the three-count. In doing so, Carlito became Intercontinental Champion in his RAW debut, just as he had won the United States Championship in his SmackDown! debut.
At Vengeance, Shelton will get his chance to take the championship back. But will he be fully recovered, and will he have time to prepare for the newest member of the RAW roster? Watch the pay-per-view this Sunday to find out. Victoria vs. Christy
June 26, 2005
After months of watching Christy gain all the accolades, Victoria viciously attacked the 2004 $250,000 RAW Diva Search winner, claiming she was tired of being witness to all her success, especially her Women's Championship Match at WrestleMania.
Victoria followed that with another vicious assault. This time, the former Women's Champion bloodied Christy backstage at RAW. Christy suffered a slight concussion and needed a few stitches from the attack of Victoria, but she’ll be ready to go for Vengeance. Victoria better look out for the fiery red head at Vengeance.
This Sunday, the two WWE Divas will square off in one-on-one action. Will Christy be able to exact revenge at Vengeance? Or will Victoria continue her onslaught? |

| I think it was stupid of them to give Carlito the belt, on his 1st match on Raw! Remember tho?? He did beat John Cena to win the Us title in his 1st match on SD. I dunno, I love Shelton Benjiman!! He is a true athlete. Him and Shawn sure had a GREAT match on Raw last month. Also, I totally agree with you about Batista, Nick. He is just awesome!!!!!!!! His mic skills are improving and so is his wrestling. I sure hope to god he keeps the title for longgggggg time!
This PPV sure is turing out to be a great one! To bad I cant get anymore for a while. |
