I just watched the tape last night at my friend's house. I gotta say, this must've been the happiest PPV for fans I've ever seen. Did anybody notice, did it occur to anyone, that babyfaces won every match at Taboo Tuesday? I mean, after the halfway point, I kept thinking somebody had to end the streak. But it just never happened.
Bischoff was dominated by Smackdown!, his nephew Eugene won, and he again failed to get the WWE Title off of John Cena. It must've been his worst night ever.
I never expected Show and Kane to win the tag titles. I thought Cade and Murdoch would just dodge the bullet by getting themselves disqualified on purpose and keep the belts.
I really appreciate and respect Flair now because he's the first person I've ever seen in a cage match who had enough common sense to use the stipulations correctly. Most people, after obliterating their opponent with a chair the way Flair did to Triple H, would've just laid on the mat like a dead animal and crawled painfully slowly toward the door only to be caught. But Flair sucked it up and bolted the hell out the door without giving Trips even a slight chance to go for the save. It was so refreshing. (example of people who are too stupid to just get the hell out: Big Show in the barbed wire steel cage against JBL at No Way Out)
I was most surprised to see Trish keep her title. I thought for sure that Mickie James was gonna let her devotion to Trish get the best of her and accidentally eliminate her somehow and win the title. Or that she'd get in the way and inadvertently allow Victoria to win the title. But Trish was able to just sit back at the end while Mickie took care of Victoria AND herself at the end. I'm loving this story. It's developing some twists. |
