Nick, though I respect your opinions, and am glad you enjoyed the show, I'm wondering how you got that the crowd was into the show?! From what I saw, that was a very poor crowd... which I'm blaming for a lot of the show's faults. The crowd wasn't giving off the right amount of energy to create a fantastic show. They seemed just as bored as I was when Goldberg and Lesnar circled the ring twenty times, locked arms, circled twenty times, locked arms, circled twenty times, locked arms and finally got on with the show.

Much agreed.

That crowd was absoloutley pathetic.

Never seen such a lack of passion for the WWE in my entire life.

I've seen more passion from a football non-league match at Shrewsbury Town FC than in MSG that night.

i agree about the brock goldberg match. my buddy's friend who went said they didn't even watch the match. they changed everything anti goldberg and lesnar they could. there was a guy dressed as hulk hogan so that's why there was a hogan chant. then there was a guy dresses as macho man so they got those 2 guys to fake fight.

Glad ya like it. I thought it would be appropriate.

Well I finally saw it after a few days of downloading. My overall opinion on this show.. fantastic. It was fun. Plain and simple fun. It was enjoyment throughout, for me anyway. Compared to the last bunches of RAWs and SmackDowns, they improved in a LOT of areas, that I was always so annoyed about them doing it always wrong. This time though, you could see that the boys put their all into it. With the exception of one or two, heh. But I'll get to that later.

So the show begins, the first thing I wanna see is what the stage looks like. I loved that thing, really nicely done. The effects on it, when the Big Show came out. When Kane came out, that entire city was burning. When Triple H came out.. Kurt Angle with that American flag.. awesome stage. I was impressed.

On to the matches...

John Cena tried to pump up the crowd, but it seemed they weren't as co-operative as in the 'dirty' south at SmackDown the thursday before. I had expected that to be a little better since the area is a bunch of times bigger.

Anyways, it was a good match. Both Big Show and Cena gave us a tremendous kick off, and Cena winning the title was just golden, in my opinion. One thing I've learned.. if you want to start off a PPV in style, put Cena up first. You'll be instantly put into the right mood, when you got the Doctor of Thuganomics walking down that isle.

Next match, Booker T & RVD, a pretty fun tag team actually. Finally, they sold the scissors kick perfectly, I was so happy. It always looks like shit, but this time it was simply perfect! Lovely combination too, scissors kick, which I usually refer to as the axe kick, followed up by a 5 star, it sounds like something I would do in the HCTP video game.

Jericho, not in the best condition, probably cause of his knee. I was pretty satisfied with Christian though, although I can't stand the guy. His wrestling was above average for sure. When Trish came out, I had this feeling she was gonna screw Jericho. I dunno why, I just felt that's what she was gonna do. She should be an interesting heel.

Evolution vs. Rock & Foley, yes that was a fun match to watch. I wasn't disappointed by Foley at all, he did a good job. Rock's coming out on his old entrance music again. Damn, his tattoo seems to keep getting bigger and bigger. I found it cool that he was there to help out Mick. Ric Flair did a great job once again. That man is just unstoppable, heh. Not many do what he does after being so long in the business. I liked the match, but yeah Evolution winning wasn't what I expected either. It was a surprise, finally. I was really wondering what must have been going through the mind of Mick for a second. Then I thought, nah, he's putting over Randy Orton big time. I find that extremely generous of him to do that. Not many legends will go through such lengths to put the newer generation over.

Underwear match. Heh. Bah, it's 4 times Britney Spears in a wrestling ring. I never cared for the exploiting the females tactic, so I won't begin to start now, heh. (hmm.. begin to start.. aaaallright..) Stacy looked good though. The rest... divas all look the same to me. I don't care. What was up with Jackie though? For a minute there I thought she was protesting for real!

WHOOOOOO Cruiserweights all over the place. Old school WCW wrestling personified. Hell Yeah. Okay so Rey looked funny in his Flash outfit. Kidman seems to be back in his element, which is cool cause I like the man a lot. I liked him ever since he left Raven's Flock back in 1998. He looks better with the long hair though. Great match, I enjoyed it. Exciting. Someone go beat up Chavo Sr, heh. His presence really does make things more interesting. Chavo Jr. is a good performer though, with or without his dad. Remember that little wooden horse he used to have? Oh man that was crazy. He's come a long way since then. The entire "Luitenant Loco" gig is done away with, and he's going somewhere now. Good work, WWE.

GOLDBERG, GOLDBERG, GOLDBERG... no. Damn man this is the first time that I'm really disappointed in Bill. I dunno.. the match didn't sell. And Lesnar, damn I thought this was gonna be so much better. This was one I was really looking forward to. At first I thought it was gonna be one of the best matches ever, when they stood in that ring facing eachother, but then it started to take too long, and the match really couldn't get underway. They both didn't seem to be able to pick up the momentum there. I loved the way they both made similar moves in the beginning though. But I expected a Brock Lock. This must have been one of Brock's worst matches ever.. the man can do so much better. And Goldberg, well, he did some awesome moves, but the match just didn't take long enough. It had holes everywhere. I can describe it as empty. It missed spirit...

One thing I loved about it though. Everybody kept saying that Goldberg was going to be kicked out of the company and so therefore Brock would win. I never believed that. And yay, I was right. But now Brock is leaving? I heard that for the first time when Tazz said it as well. Lets hope not, he's one of my favorites.

Haha yeah it was pretty much fact that the former Mona/Miss Madness Molly was gonna get her head shaved. And yes, it was fun to watch, I enjoyed it too. Was rubbing my hands in pleasure watching that. lol.

Hey NDD, you mentioned that about Kurt, but think about this. When he came out, the first thing I thought of was... Kurt got his head shaved too! It's a little insignificant detail, but I found it quite amusing to have him walk out there while they were still shaving Molly's head. It was like, look Kurt, that was you a few years ago. lol. But he didn't pay attention to it. hehe

I loved the match he had with Eddie. And you know, that whole feud is kinda weird. Cause, in a way, Kurt is right ya know. You don't teach your kids to lie, cheat and steal. haha. Was still glad that Eddie won though. If only for the fact that Kurt never had the guts to face Eddie like a man prior to WM. The beating with the handcuffs was pretty sucky for poor Eddie. The boot was simply brilliant. Haha.

UNDERTAKER! WHOOOOO yeah, that was THE match I was looking forward to the most. Why? Because right now Kane is my most favorite wrestler of all of them right now, and the Undertaker has a special place in my heart ever since I saw him live in Germany. And of course his old Lord of Darkness gimmick has always been one of my favorites.

He looked.. different yeah. I had thought they would have put some hair extensions on him, but they didn't. They had his hair painted black though. For the rest, he was just Big Evil without the logos on his clothing. But the hat really made a difference. It was a little getting used to but when you think about it, storyline wise it makes sense. Shades of Big Evil shining through a walking dead man. He was playing the zombie version of BE. When you really think about it, that in itself was very well thought out too.

The Undertaker's performance in the ring was awesome, compared to what we've seen of him back in 2003. You can see he trained hard, he was in his element. Props to the Undertaker for defeating himself, and becoming better than he has been for the last year or so. Quite an accomplishment for a man his age. Proud wrestling fan over here. Damn straight. Kane was good too, I sure as hell was happy about him. I expected him to lose the match of course, but he played it really well. Overall, best gimmick match I've seen in a while.

The main event spoke for itself. No further commentary needed, it was just an awesome display of talent there. The crowd was really rooting for Benoit after a while, which only confirmed my suspicions that he was gonna win it. It was really tense at times, especially during that Sharpshooter. I was on the edge of my seat for sure. Triple H tapped! What will this mean for Evolution? Can't wait to see what'll happen next, with Orton as their only champion now.

We start celebrating with Benoit and Eddie in the ring, pretty much unifiying both belts. Benoit winning that title for the SECOND time. Yes, second time, inspite of what the WWE says, Benoit won it before when he beat Sid Viscious for it in a December PPV RIGHT before he left for the WWE. Now, there's a little story behind this... in WCW, people like Eddie and Benoit never really got the chance to move up the ladder. So they formed a little faction together with Dean Malenko and Saturn called The Revolution. Their goal was to revolutionize the business and finally set their marks. Now, 5 years or so later, I see Chris Benoit and Eddie Guererro standing tall in a WresleMania ring, holding the most precious title belts in the business today, high up in the air. And then all I can say is, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Oh Hell Yeah, gimme some damn beer!

So yeah, I am one of those wrestling fans who ended up very pleased with this show. Also really happy to see Bobby Heenan again. Damn he has aged a lot in 5 years. Poor man's throat all messed up. I believe he has/had throat cancer? Was good to see him again though. And then Harley Race, Jesse Ventura... Big thanks to the WWE for paying attention to those guys. They made this business what it is today. And damn, Ric Flair is STILL wrestling. I'm so impressed by that man, I can't tell ya. heh

Sooo what else.. oh yeah Stone Cold Steve Austin. I see a feud with Goldberg coming his way. I bet he'll be next.

Hey Stinger. When Eddie and Beniot stood in the ring was I the only one who thought back to The Radicals? Sure Saturn's not there and stuff, but with them both standing with the biggest titles in the industry, made me think they did it. They won the battle for good storylines and the push they wanted.

I remember that right after they left WCW, their faction remained intact, but gave it a new name when they entered the WWF called 'The Radicalz' to replace the name they had in WCW called 'The Revolution'.

I have no idea what the Radicalz were doing there exactly though, I haven't seen much of it. All I remember is that they went to do Vince McMahon's dirty work.

But yeah, I thought that too, I think I wrote it in caps somewhere.

I believe Saturn went to TNA, and Dean Malenko works backstage in the WWE now. I saw him in Germany playing agent at the entrance way.

That of Eddie and Benoit both in the ring together with the gold will be career highlights for them both. Expect to see that on any history's of either of thme or DVDs It was one of those defining moments for them.

Damn right. I'm really happy for the both of them. They damn well deserved this. Like Benoit said on the Monday Night Wars DVD, it was people like them that kept a company like WCW running. People like them who did all the hard work. I remember how the longer matches always consisted of REAL wrestling skills, and it were always the people like Benoit and Eddie who did matches like that. Remember the 8 (or so)consecutive matches between Benoit and Booker T? That was some of the finest wrestling I've ever seen.

As Triple H was talking about defending his belt night after night, year after year.. heh. I don't think you can say that to a man like Benoit. Cause in the end, Benoit's done more than Triple H in terms of wrestling, heh. And Benoit didn't have any Evolutions and sledgehammers to help him out.

Although Benoit is a former Horsemen. You know, that's kinda funny when you think about it. Flair and Benoit used to be in the same team. Flair went and traded in his Horsemen for an Evolution. lol
