Fifa and Uefa are planning new moves to limit the number of foreigners playing in domestic football.

As well as a limit on overseas players - a maximum of five per team - Uefa also wants a specified percentage of clubs' first-team squads to have come up through their youth system.

Both schemes - particularly the foreign quota - could have a dramatic effect on clubs such as Chelsea, who have in the past fielded a full team of foreigners.

The Premiership is awash with talent from around the world, but many feel that some clubs are opting for cheaper foreign players over home-grown talent - restricting the development of future England stars.

Do you support plans to limit the number of overseas players?

no i dont, i think its not necessary to do that

There a two ways to look at it.

1. The more foriegn players there are the better the english players have to be to get into the team

2. Teams are just going straight to foriegn players insteaad of reserve teams.

I agree with your first point as it has helped English players learn, its hard!

It means English players dont get a chance..

i wouldnt say that cuz there are still many english players left but if a club wants to be international-wise among teh best he needs foreigners

yeah but not 11 foreigners playing every match..

true, thats not necessary, but u cant force a team to give english players a chance every time, u can say there has to be an average of at least 3 english players or so
