Aston Villa v Liverpool, very entertaining game after a very long delay. I was sickened to see Liverpool win in injury time but it was a great game and well worth the wait.

It was annoying to see Liverpool gte that winner, but with the way the game was going I thought Villa had a chance of getting an equaliser, shame they didn't. The really annoying thing is that 2DTV was on at exactly the same time so I missed the best bit.

Manchester United 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

I didn't actually listen to all this match, just the first half in which United were slightly the better team but Blackburn defended very well and denied United any real chances. Blackburn have the advantage now going into the second leg.

United were poor and in particular Van Nistlerooy. Blackburn played much better.

Sheffield United 2-1 Liverpool
Liverpool yet again lose a match in their long run of poor form, but this time they played better than other recent matches. they were definitely the better team in the first half with Murphy and Gerrard playing well. Liverpool's goal came in the 35th minute, a headed goal from Neil Mellor, his first for the club in the first team. After the break Sheffield United picked up and exposed Liverpool at the back with two quick strikes late on in the match to give them a 2-1 win, but Liverpool have that all important away goal .......

Great result but I wont hold my breath as the second leg has to come and I imagine Liverpool will win that one especially at home.

If Liverpool don't improve their form even more then they are likely to struggle for a draw at home ...... Sheffield are a good team.
