World Series 2005 - Eternal Allegiance

So the MLB playoffs start today at noon Central with the Cardinals against the Padres. The past few years, the playoffs have managed to be better every time. It should be interesting to see if it can get better again this year.

So here's what we have for the Division Series. All best of 5.

Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Red Sox
New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres
Atlanta Braves vs. Houston Astros

So let's do this. And let's get some votes on who's gonna win the whole thing. My vote goes, of course, to the Cardinals.

White Sox- 2
Red Sox- 0

Cardinals- 1
Padres- 0

Astros- 1
Braves- 0

Yankees- 1
Angels- 1

My ideal World Series would be Cardinals against Red Sox in a rematch and the Cardinals sweep and utterly embarass them. But I think seeing their sorry asses getting swept in the first round would be a great consolation.

We'll never hear the end of the strikeout controversy from Game 2 if the White Sox go on to win this series.

Cardinals- 1
Astros- 0

Cardinals are on fire right now. Hopefully they keep it up.

GO ASTROS! WHOO. We beat Cardinals 4-1!! I hope our luck holds up for tomorrow night. Something tells me St. Louis will be back, steaming.

But I think Angels are gonna win even if Astros will make it to WS.

i stopped watching after the yankees lost. i don't really watch baseball so when post season comes, living in NY, i watch them play and root for them. other than that ehh...not my cup of tea (i don't drink tea either

The Astros have absolutely no chance agains the White Sox. NONE!

Four straight complete games by White Sox starters is all you need to know.

Then again, I guess anything is possible in Minute Maid Teeball Park, Home of the Cheap Home Run.

P.S.- Thank GOD, that series didn't end in Houston. Pujols is THE man.

But wouldn't you want Astros to win? It's less shameful that way. It's like you got beaten by the best instead of a very crappy team.

Wow we suck. What else is new. So they won. Was anyone actually expecting Astros to win? I eman we were hoping, but expecting? nah. Maybe we go by steps. Last year we won NLDS. This year NLCS. Maybe next year we win the classic. Meh.
