Serbia & Montenegro 0-1 Holland
This World Cup hasn't been disappointing us much yet!
Holland started and played through the first-half as the better team. Robben was on fire! .. creating plenty of chances for himself, and giving the Serbia defense lots to think about. There was no way any of Serbia's full-backs were going to catch up with Robben when he broke away after 18 minutes. Then, it was just a matter of finding the back of the net - an easy task for Robben! His quick shot a little while later could have made it 2-0 if the keeper didn't have such good reflexes, and on the first-half display, 2-0 would have been a fair half-time scoreline.

Serbia had their chances, most notably when Milosevic and Kezman went for the same ball, but sat back a bit too much, letting Holland control the match. With a few minutes left until half-time, Koroman came on and sudden;y Serbia created a few chances!
Serbia looked like a different team in the second-half. They created quite a few more chances, even though they still didn't create a lot of very clear cut chances. This left the game quite open, with Holland and Robben still getting in plenty of attacks. Serbia looked like they could have made a good move by bringing on 6ft 8in Zigic, but he hardly saw the ball, and certainly didn't get the kind of 'high-ball' service that a player of his height should have been.. Van Persie's free-kick 10 minutes from the end could have decided the match. If only it had been a few more inches to the right!

Serbia had their last gasp chances, but just couldn't get a decent enough shot on goal when it really mattered. Holland are worthy winners today.
The referee - well, he had an interesting match!

He booked Kezman for an overhead kick, seeming to incidate that it was dangerous play..

but didn't even stop play when other players did the same.

I was also pleased to see him book Gavrancic for suggesting that a Dutch player should have been booked after he was fouled! That kind of behaviour needs to be removed from the game.

He was also happy with his cards, showing yellows to 6 players.
So, Argentina and Holland lead the group of death. Next up, Holland take on the Ivory Coast, while Serbia will be looking to pull off a shock against Argentina.
