If I remember correctly, Germany finished runners up in the 2002 WC, and didn't make it past the group stage of Euro '04.

Maybe they'll break the curse in 2 years.

The EC 2008 qualification already starts in September, three matches will be played mid-August.

I also think much will depend on who'll be the coach of Germany. If Klinsmann stays, I think he can go through with the things he has been working on during this event. If not and Germany have to start all over ... you never know what kind of surprise we could be getting in the end.

Klinsmann will announce this Monday what his decision will be. Continue or quit and go back to Florida. No matter what he'll choose though, Florida IS his next destination, as he lives there, lol.

Oliver Kahn will definitely quit as national keeper of Germany. I think some people will be glad to hear that.

I'm sure Neil will bring that thread up around August 16th, when the first qualification matches start.

I think you do have a chance though. Germany & Czech Republic could be beaten. Ireland on a big tournament again!?

I think we do have a chance, I hope we play better than at recent qualification games! Czech Republic were not great at the WC so you never know.

I am thanks. I had a severe migraine again.

And half of their squad are too old to continue and so Bruckner has to come up with lots of new, younger players.

Kahn & Figo aren't the only ones who played their last match for their country. Topscorer Pauleta has also announced he quits the national team. Pauleta scored 47 goals in 87 matches, he broke Eusebio's record with that!

I think Pauleta has been awful. I would have gone with Gomes myself.
