Switzerland are through to the knockout rounds for the first time since 1938! They are also the only side to qualify without conceding.

Togo 0-2 France
The jammy French did it! .. but don't expect them to go any further than the second round.

I did hear about 20-25 minutes worth of this match on the radio, and I got the impression that it was far from great Football. I don't think Ukraine will complain too much though. They are through to the knockout stags in their first World Cup.

Saudi Arabia 0-1 Spain
It should have been many more.. Spain wasted many good chances, but proved that their B team is a formidable side. They qualify as one of 4 teams with an 100% record.

Some very mouthwatering ties there!

IMO this is where we are likely to see the end of France's tournament, and where Germany could be dumped out. Argentina should be through with few problems, and Brazil might be thinking the same for their match. Australia will be tough opponents for Italy. I can see the Ozzies making it to the Semi-Finals with this draw, which would be fantastic for them and Football.


The Aussies made mistakes with bad tackles.. they're only human.

You would think.. They sadly didn't notice either, but they're not exactly to blame, they're not the one with a notebook or note already clearly stating that Simunic had been shown a yellow card.
