What a game! The first half was very exciting to watch, the americans were easily the better team and they deserved to be in the lead fully. The portugese defence were poor and unorganised in the first half, and to be fair to them they were lucky that it was only 3-1. I didn't see the first half, but from what Brad told me on MSN I think it was as good as the first, shame about the own goal though.

i didnt see the game...thanks 4 telling.....its a surprise 4 me that portuzgal lost against the us cuz they are quite good

I was expecting Portugal to win, I even thought they might have a good chance of winning the tournament, but with defending like that they won't go anywhere.

BTW, USA are ranked 13th in the world, so they could surprise us even more over the next few weeks.

The result made this group really interesting. Everyone thought Portugal would qualify, but now they are 3rd with no points. Portugal now have to play Poland, and if they don't win then they could be out. Whoever wins out of USA .v. South Korea will be going through. That will definitely be one to watch.

That would be really good for america football, and it might even get them into the top 10 of the ranking list!

Yeah, what a game!! I was so shocked that America won! Too bad about the own goal though. That sucked.

Now things are going to get real interesting.

Hey, I've got a question. How exactly does it come about which team goes into the next round (you know, points and stuff)?

The two teams with the most points after the 3 group games will go through into the next round. You generally need 5 points to qualify for the next round, but sometimes you can get away with 4, and for a team to go out with 6 points, that would be unlucky. If two teams are level then it comes to goal difference or goals scored. I'm not sure which one they are using at the world cup, but i should think it would be goal difference.
