Thursday 7th April - 19:45
Austria Vienna 1-1 Parma
Newcastle United 1-0 Sporting Lisbon
Villarreal 1-2 AZ Alkmaar

Parma and AZ Alkmaar will go into the second leg in a very strong position. All AZ have to do is earn a draw at home, while Parma should be able to defeat Vienna despite being near the bottom of Serie A. Newcastle will go to Portugal with confidence after keeping Sporting out, but Lisbon will still be dangerous at home. One plus for Newcastle is that Sporting's top scorer - Liedson - will miss the second leg through suspension.

Diego Forlan has played for Manchester United in the CL in the beginning of this season, so that means he isn't allowed to play for another club in the Europa Cup.

BTW - Emma, the new JLO blend looks very nice.

Thursday 14th April
Auxerre .v. CSKA Moscow
AZ Alkmaar .v. Villarreal
Parma .v. Austria Vienna
Sporting Lisbon .v. Newcastle United

CSKA Moscow are through already (unless there is a miracle in France..) .. but who will be joining them!? My bets would be for AZ Alkmaar, Parma and Newcastle to make it through.
