Now that would be a really good game.

Dutch teams mostly don't have a big chance when they play Newcastle. AZ would probably lose. I'm being optimistic again, ain't I.

Playing against Newcastle would be really tough especially with the way Shearer is playing.

So far, kick off at 4pm

CSKA Moscow 1-0 Partizan

I don't think Alkmaar would be a push-over for Newcastle at all. It would most likely be a tough tie for both teams.

4th Round, 2nd leg
17/03/2005 - 16:00
CSKA Moscow (3)2-0(1) Partizan Belgrade

Who will be joining AZ Alkmaar, CSKA Moscow and Newcastle United later!?

My prediction would be that Auxerre, Sevilla, Sporting Lisbon and Zaragoza all go through.

4th Round, 2nd leg
Thursday 17th March
Auxerre 0-0 Lille
Parma 1-0 Sevilla
Sporting Lisbon 1-0 Middlesbrough
Zaragoza 2-2 Austria Vienna

Auxerre, Parma, Sporting Lisbon and Austria Vienna join the teams already through to the Quarter-Finals. The draw will take place at 13:00 CET tommorow. Villarreal and Steaua Bucharest will battle it out for the final Quarter-Final place on Sunday. No matter who wins that tie, we'll have 8 different countries represented in the Quarter-Finals this season.

A tough tie for Newcastle, but at least they avoided CSKA Moscow - a team that has proven to be hard to beat.

Semi-Final Draw
Austria Vienna/Parma .v. CSKA Moscow/Auxerre
Newcastle United/Sporting Lisbon .v. Steaua/Villarreal/AZ Alkmaar

Newcastle - Alkmaar Semi!?

I think Souness and his players would rather have wanted Moscow.

Hopefully. It's good to see AZ has the advantage of first playing an away game.

So they can lose in Russia? I simply get the impression that CSKA Moscow are very hard to beat whether it be at home or away.

We all know Newcastle can score plenty of goals when playing away from home though.
