Sunday 27th February
Athletic Bilbao 1-2 Austria Vienna

Austria go through after coming back from a goal down. So Spain will only have 3 teams remaining and with how the knockout stages have gone so far, whos to say that any of them will make it to the Quarter-Finals.. Maybe Vienna can do it again against Zaragoza in the next round!

4th Round ties will take place on March 10th (1st leg) and March 16th/17th (2nd leg)

I found this interesting for next season!

It's a prediction based on current league positions and team co-efficients of what might happen in the UEFA Cup next season. Of course, we all know Football is unpredictable, but I have a habit of finding these things fascinating.

No problem. There are a few more linked at this page ----> http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/qual2005.html

That page is also very handy for seeing who will qualify for Europe next season.

Thursday 10th March
Austria Vienna .v. Real Zaragoza
Lille .v. Auxerre
Middlesbrough .v. Sporting Lisbon
Olympiakos .v. Newcastle United
Partizan Belgrade .v. CSKA Moscow
Sevilla .v. Parma
Shakhtar Donetsk .v. AZ Alkmaar
Steaua Bucharest .v. Villarreal

Middlesbrough and Newcastle will have it tough. I could see both failing to win tommorow night, but Newcastle winning the second leg at St James Park. Middlesbrough might have hit the end of the road though.

The atmosphere inside Olympiakos stadium is pretty loud, Nobody won there in the CL I don' think so Newcastle have it tough.

Expect plenty of cheating from Sporting. They are Portugeese after all. Will Farina be able to contain it?

Thursday 10th March
Olympiakos 1-3 Newcastle United
Partizan Belgrade 1-1 CSKA Moscow
Shakhtar Donetsk 1-3 AZ Alkmaar
Steaua Bucharest P-P Villarreal

Great result for Newcastle, they had a lot going their way though. Georgatos was sent-off in the 11th minute for nudging Dyer in the penalty area, but in all fairness his challenge didn't warrant a red card.. Olympiakos were down to 9 men by half-time with Kostoulas sent-off for a second bookable offense. With Newcastle leading 2-1 at that point, they had a massive advantage. Kluivert made sure of a comfortable win with his goal mid-way through the second-half. Newcastle should have very few problems in the home leg next week, especially as Olympiakos will have several players suspended.
The Greek side's goal came from the penalty spot a few minutes after Newcastle had taken the lead. Again, the decision was a bit dodgy. Andy O'Brien appeared to grab Stoltidis' shirt, but the attacking player simply went down too easily.. Robert scored Newcastle's second with a brilliant free-kick.

AZ Alkmaar will be solid favourites to progress in their tie, but Partizan - CSKA is poised to go either way.
