'1-1' is still an excellent result for Villareal, so is '2-1'

Celtic 1-1 Villareal

A result that favours Villarreal better than Celtic. Mind you they got the same against Boavista last year and could be in with a chance.

Marseille 1-0 Inter

We're talking potential finalists here. Marseille have the capability to score an away goal, something Inter badly needed.

Bordeaux 1-2 Valencia

That's the spanish side through in my book. Bordeaux are hardly gonna grab 2 in the Mestalla.

PSV 1-1 Newcastle

A good result for Newcastle but expect PSV to score in a very nervy second leg.

Good result for Villareal, they kept up their great European form.

Marseille dominated Inter for the full 90 minutes, but they might regret the fact they only scored once in a match which plenty of good chances.

More than a good result for Valencia. the only match-up which seems to be already decided.

Good result for Newcastle, but far from over.

Nice match-ups, they didn't disappoint me at all

And that's not the only fault the referee/linesmen made.

With the 1-1 Newcastle has the advantage, but if PSV is able to score in Newcastle (which I see them doing ), I expect PSV to go through.

Yes, you have to be fair: PSV deserved the win last Thursday.
On the other hand it's always great to see them get desperate, lose points and get eliminated

I think PSV could win it but Newcastle have amazing home support and a good young team, will Bramble be suspended as I knew UEFA were looking into his alleged elbow?

Newcastle's advantage will be the fact that PSV won't be able to concentrate on defending (not in the first place) cause they have to score a goal no matter what ... that might give more opportunities for Newcastle to easier find the needed space to set up attacks.

Thats true and I think if Newcastle start well and a lot will depend once again on Alan Shearer.
