Lightbulb TNA iMPACT! Results - The Official Thread

Hey guys! Starting today, I'll be giving you guys all the latest results & news in relation to TNA iMPACT! With that, here are your results from last night's show - the fallout from Slammiversary definitely was felt all throughout the arena.

OFFICIAL TNA “iMPACT” RESULTS
Thursday, June 22nd, 2006 – Orlando, FL
By: Marcus Cygy

“iMPACT!” kicked off this week with the controversial footage revolving around King of the Mountain from this past Sunday’s “Slammiversary” Pay-Per-View. The fans were torn to see Jeff Jarrett win the NWA World Heavyweight Title, which prompted them to throw debris towards Jarrett. However, Jim Cornette immediately took the title from Jarrett’s hands as the Pay-Per-View was going off the air, which had Jarrett as champion remaining in doubt.

We then went to the ring with Jim Cornette standing in the middle of it with the NWA World Heavyweight Title in possession. He said it’s a busy time in TNA as he’s been having closed door meetings during the week. He said that someone would indeed be fired next week on “iMPACT!” as a result of the conspiracy at Slammiversary. Also, as of right now Jeff Jarrett is NOT the NWA World Heavyweight Champion and currently there is no champion. Next week we’ll have all that resolved as we will also have announcements concerning July’s “Victory Road” Pay-Per-View, courtesy of Jim Cornette – the new head director of TNA management.

Jeff Jarrett came down momentarily at the end to voice his opinions as one can expect. As usual, he was just blowing hot steam. Jim Cornette is going to do what he wants without any influences by Jarrett, he’s not going to be corrupted like Zbyszko was.

After Cornette’s ground breaking announcements, we began action in the ring with AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels defending their newly won NWA World Tag Team Titles against Elix Skipper and David Young of The Diamonds In The Rough. Three weeks ago, The Diamonds In The Rough were able to defeat AJ Styles and The Fallen Angel; however, America’s Most Wanted heavily instigated their win. Tonight, the new NWA World Tag Team Champions were able to make amends and win their first title defense, thanks in part to their neutralizing woman that took out Simon Diamond – preventing a similar situation from occurring like three weeks ago.

After the match, Gail Kim eagerly came in to attack the nameless woman at this time. Gail couldn’t gain any offense over her so AMW were there for the quick save in retreating Gail. Whoever this woman is, she’s been a great help in countering any interferences for AJ Styles and The Fallen Angle, thanks in part to her great size.

Backstage, several wrestlers were on hand in a cohesive lineup to meet with Jim Cornette in his office. One of which was Eric Young who was seriously concerned about losing his job in TNA. Jeff Jarrett budged in front of the line and entered Cornette’s room to get some answers regarding the NWA World Heavyweight Title, but he’ll have to wait seven days to get any answers – meaning we’ll get them next week on “iMPACT!”.

Our second match of the night saw “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown defeat Chasyn Rance with his patented Pounce. After the match, Konnan offered The Alpha Male a spot into LAX but it was rejected. Konnan said he respected his decision just like Ron Killings and Sonjay Dutt among others who rejected LAX. That led to The Truth dropping by to see what’s up and it was in fact another offer into LAX by Konnan. He told Truth that TNA never looks for talent, but instead they favor a race that excludes those like himself and The Truth. Konnan was playing up how he loved Ron like a brother and that really touched a spot deep inside The Truth. Killings decided to join LAX with a big hug but it was indeed a setup, Konnan gave the queue for his thugs in Homicide and Hernandez to perform the beat down.

Backstage we had a face-off of words being thrown at each other between Team 3D and The James Gang while several TNA stars were listening on. The verbal fight however progressed into a physical fight all the way to the ring. The missing ingredient of Team 3D finally made his return with a 3D drop on Kip James – it was Brother Runt! Brother Ray then said they were going to settle this once and for all at Victory Road, they can find a partner because it’s going to be a six-man tag with Brother Ray, Brother Devon, and Brother Runt being one team. Who will The James Gang find as a tag team partner?

We then saw Christian Cage exit Jim Cornette’s room. He too was told to wait seven days to find out what’s going to happen with the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Sting was going to enter Cornette’s room next and Christian wanted to know why. Sting told him that he would find out first before anyone else, but not yet.

Footage of a recent hot photo shoot from “Sole Collector” Magazine with the lovely TNA Knockouts was revealed. It featured Christy Hemme, Gail Kim, Jackie, along with Traci and SoCal Val. The footage will be a part of the Knockouts DVD hitting stores the end of August!

The main event of the evening was our second of two championship title matches. This one featured the X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe defending against Senshi and Sonjay Dutt in a Triple Threat Match. Midway through this physically battering match, Eric Young was in the crowd with a sign that read “Don’t Fire Eric Young”. Young thinks he’s in serious threat of being fired, but we’ll find out if that’s really the case next week. Back to the match, Samoa Joe had a dominant run during the match up until he was caught by a stiff chair shot by “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner on the outside. Senshi then went forth on winning the TNA X-Division Championship with what he calls The Way – a double-stomp drop onto Sonjay Dutt’s chest from the top rope. The title change occurred when Sonjay Dutt was pinned – leaving Samoa Joe’s streak still in tact in never being pinned or submitted.

This is Senshi’s second reign as X-Division Champion. His last was when he defeated AJ Styles to become the second ever holder of the title back on August 7, 2002.

Sting graciously left Jim Cornette’s office upon saying that things are going to look good with Cornette now in charge because everything went perfect in his office. Sting got just what he wanted from Cornette, but the show went off the air without the news being spilled. What might it be? Find out next week on “iMPACT!” on Spike TV!

Quick Match Results:
• NWA World Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels defeated The Diamonds In The Rough (Elix Skipper & David Young).
• Monty Brown defeated Chasyn Rance.
• Triple Threat Match: Senshi defeated TNA X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe and Sonjay Dutt, to win the title.

CORNETTE SPEAKS – MANDATORY COMPANY WIDE MEETING NEXT WEEK!
On Thursday’s “iMPACT!”, new TNA Wrestling management director Jim Cornette spoke out about the conspiracy that unfolded at Slammiversary, as well as a big company meeting scheduled for next Thursday night. Cornette claimed that Jeff Jarrett is currently not the NWA World Heavyweight Champion and he would make his final decision next Thursday. In regard to the company meeting, Cornette said it was time to make an example in TNA Wrestling – and that someone was going to get fired!

NEW X DIVISION CHAMPION CROWNED – SENSHI WINS THE GOLD
A new TNA X Division champion was crowned on Thursday night as Senshi won a three-way bout against Samoa Joe and Sonjay Dutt to become the new titleholder. However, it was “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner who cost “The Samoan Submission Machine” the gold, attacking Joe outside the ring with a steel chair. Steiner stood over Joe to make sure he didn’t get back to the ring in time to save his reign. Without a doubt, Samoa Joe is now hellbent on revenge!

TEAM 3D ISSUES SIX MAN CHALLENGE FOR VICTORY ROAD
Team 3D and The James Gang traded verbal insults on Thursday’s “iMPACT!”, but the taunting got serious when Brother Ray ridiculed BG’s father, the legendary “Bullet” Bob Armstrong. The face off quickly turned physical, with The James Gang and Team 3D taking the brawl to the ring. However, the fight saw the return of Brother Runt, who helped his brothers overcome the attack. Brother Ray then issued a challenge to the James Gang to face all of Team 3D in a six man match at the Victory Road Pay-Per-View! Who will The James Gang recruit as their partner? Tune into Thursday’s “iMPACT!” to find out!

THE LATIN AMERICAN EXCHANGE ATTACK THE TRUTH
Also on Thursday’s “iMPACT!”, Konnan made a plea for his former 3Live Kru partner Ron “The Truth” Killings to join the Latin American Exchange. However, it was nothing but a setup because as soon as Konnan embraced The Truth, he ordered his LAX soldiers Homicide and Hernandez to attack Killings. After being assaulted by all three members of LAX, Hernandez sent The Truth flying over the guardrail!

Hey guys! Here are your full iMPACT! results. I can say I don't agree w/ Jarrett being crowned the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion, but he'll lose it soon enough to whoever wins the #1 Contender Match between Sting, Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, and Scott Steiner @ TNA Victory Road '06 on Sunday, July 16th, 2006. Turns out that referee Earl Hebner was fired by the new head of TNA Management, Jim Cornette, for his actions @ the last TNA PPV, Slammiversary. Read below for all that happened on Thursday's action-packed show, enjoy!

OFFICIAL TNA “iMPACT!” RESULTS
Thursday, June 29, 2006 – Orlando, FL
By: Marcus Cygy

Videos From Thursday's Show: http://www.tnawrestling.com/fullnews.php?home=728

Our 60-minute adrenaline rush with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s “iMPACT!” began with the appearance of the now former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage. Coming off of being cheated out of retaining his championship, he wanted to cut to the chase therefore demanded for Sting to come out.

Upon request, Sting did come down but he had to calm Christian down, who began ranting like Jeff Jarrett would promptly do. Sting told Christian that he knows what it’s like to be a wanted man and right now Christian’s under the radar and he’s cracking under pressure. When that happens you begin to second-guess people – that’s exactly what Christian is doing to Sting. So last week in Cornette’s office, Sting didn’t get himself a title match, but he was instead granted a match against Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner next week with his partner Christian. Sting continued to explain that they’re not enemies, but rather partners with a mutual cause – to take out Jarrett and Steiner next week. Christian cut Sting off from further explaining and said, “I get it, we’re not waiting for Victory Road. Right here next week on iMPACT! – It’s showtime”.

In-ring action began with Team Canada’s Petey Williams and Eric Young against Chris Sabin and Jay Lethal.

Just one week ago when Jim Cornette announced that someone was going to be fired, Eric began to protest upon himself from not getting fired by showing up in the midst of the crowd during last week’s main event with a sign that read, “Don’t fire Eric”. It was because of this that Eric Young did not bring his “A” game to this match and that really frustrated his partner Petey Williams and the rest of Team Canada. They tried punching and slapping him, anything to wake up, but he was too shaken up about the meeting occurring later in the night.

However, despite the mesmerized Eric Young causing a huge uproar in Team Canada’s brass, they still managed to pick up the win when the Canadian Destroyer was delivered on Jay Lethal after the numbers game got the better of Sabin and Lethal.

Towards the end of the match, Alex Shelley was seen at ringside along with his newly recruited cameraman for the Paparazzi Productions, former Team Canada member Johnny Devine. After the match, we witnessed footage of Shane Douglas training his boys in and out of the ring – The Naturals. It’ll either be Shane’s way, or the high way. We’ll soon enough see if The Naturals can pass the test.

Continuing action in the six-sided ring saw Norman Smiley’s return to TNA after suffering a brutal attack by Scott Steiner months ago. His return was short-lived however, because he was faced with “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown who managed to hit the Pounce to finish the match early on.

Mike Tenay underlined it for us in his words; the “former” NWA World Tag Team Champions were now scheduled to take on Team 3D accompanied by Brother Runt in a No Disqualification match.

The match was jumpstarted when Chris Harris and James Storm kept themselves hidden on the sides of the tunnel entrance as Team 3D made their way to the ring. AMW had the early advantage because of their usual tactics, but 3D were quick to bring their hardcore style into play with garbage cans, kendo sticks, trash lids, you name it and they had it! Gail Kim tried getting involved but she had no affect, as Brother Runt was present as the equalizer. It was later a miscalculated garbage can shot by Chris Harris onto James Storm that prompted the 3D finisher to be executed on Chris Harris for the victory.

After the match, The James Gang came through on Team 3D’s challenge last week to find a partner in 7-days for Victory Road and sure enough they found a partner that could possibly dismantle Team 3D before we get to Victory Road – “The Monster” Abyss! After the announcement was made by BG, all members of Team 3D were laid out by Abyss, with Brother Runt with taking greater pain than the rest by being thrown outside the ring thru a table.

After the match, the red carpet and podium was setup in the ring for Jim Cornette’s company wide meeting that saw every TNA worker watching on throughout the iMPACT Zone. Cornette’s first announcement was that LAX will see ring action sooner than later because a work stoppage means a check stoppage. That quickly followed with the sudden disbanding of Team Canada and that had the Canadians infuriated while the fans cheered. Already on a roll, Cornette next announced that at Victory Road we were going to have a twist for the NWA World Tag Team Championship rematch where America’s Most Wanted and Gail Kim will take on the new champions of AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels, and their big looking “Amazon Woman” in a 6-Person Intergender match.

Jim Cornette then called Larry Zbyszko, Earl Hebner, and Jeff Jarrett into the ring. They all entered along with Scott Steiner, despite not being asked but that was okay by Cornette. It was made known that Hebner and Cornette were mutual friends for 20 long years, but today that ends because Earl Hebner is fired from TNA. That sent a huge relief over towards Eric Young who began looking for high fives, because he wasn’t fired as he originally thought he would be!

Larry Zbyszko wasn’t going to be fired, but instead Cornette will torture him because his plan is to sign him to face Raven at Victory Road in a “Hair vs. Hair” match! Will Zbyszko agree to the match, or breach his contract and be fired from TNA?

Last but not least we had the controversial Jeff Jarrett. Whatever Cornette was going to do with the NWA World Heavyweight Title, someone was going to get mad. Regardless of the outcome, Jarrett did win that match and Cornette gave that credit to Jarrett. Regardless of who has the title though, Cornette knew that everyone wanted to see Jarrett beaten down so at Victory Road it will be Christian Cage vs. Scott Steiner vs. Sting vs. Samoa Joe with the winner getting a shot at Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Title.

In conclusion, Cornette said, “This belt is yours for now, but I sincerely think it’s not going to be yours for long”.

It certainly was not a popular decision among the fans as debris came flying towards Jarrett in a similar scene to that of Slammiversary when Jarrett won the title. Jeff Jarrett said that now that he has the title, he’s once again in the right frame of mind. Sting quickly then ambushed Jarrett and Steiner from behind with Christian getting involved as well.

It’s Christian Cage and Sting vs. NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner next week on Spike TV as the path to Victory Road on July 16 continues!

Quick Match Results:
• Team Canada (Petey Williams & Eric Young) defeated Chris Sabin & Jay Lethal.
• Monty Brown defeated Norman Smiley.
• No Disqualification Match: Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) defeated America’s Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm).

News And Video From Thursday's "iMPACT!" On SpikeTV!

CORNETTE CHANGES THE FACE OF TNA WRESTLING!

On Thursday’s “iMPACT!”, Jim Cornette dropped several major bombshells in the mandatory company wide meeting. Here is a breakdown off all the decisions handed down by the new management director:

The Latin American Exchange will be forced to return to the ring – or they will no longer be employed with TNA Wrestling

Effective immediately, Team Canada has been disbanded! After a three-year reign as one of TNA’s top alliances, the members of Team Canada must now go their separate ways.

Also effective immediately, referee Earl Hebner is fired and is no longer employed by TNA Wrestling due to his actions at Slammiversary.

Cornette wanted to fire Larry Zbyszko, but was unable due to his contract structure. However, Cornette can sign him to matches in an attempt to force him to breach his deal! As a result, Cornette told Larry Z his plan is to sign the veteran to face Raven at the July 16 “Victory Road” Pay-Per-View in a “Hair vs. Hair” match. Zbyszko left the ring irate, claiming he would give Cornette his answer next week!

Cornette also announced that the NWA World Tag Team Title will be defended at “Victory Road” in a six-person match with AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and the female newcomer vs. America’s Most Wanted and Gail Kim.

Also at “Victory Road”, a new number-one contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Title will be determined in a four-way bout with Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner!

The winner of the four-way bout at “Victory Road” will challenge Jeff Jarrett for the gold. Cornette named Jarrett the champion on “iMPACT!”, but also told his nemesis he can’t wait to see the winner of the four-way beat “The King of the Mountain”.

Other news items from Thursday’s “iMPACT!”:

STING & CHRISTIAN CAGE VS. JEFF JARRETT AND SCOTT STEINER
Main Event Announced For Thursday’s “iMPACT!”

Also on Thursday’s broadcast, Sting told Christian Cage that one of the reasons he went to Jim Cornette last week was to ask for a main event bout for the next “iMPACT!”. As a result, it will be Sting teaming up with Christian Cage on SpikeTV to take on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner! Will Cage and Sting be able to co-exist against Jarrett and Steiner? This is one of the biggest main event bouts in “iMPACT!” history – tune in Thursday night on SpikeTV and don’t miss out seeing four of TNA’s top stars collide!

THE JAMES GANG RECRUIT ABYSS FOR “VICTORY ROAD”
Last week on “iMPACT!”, Team 3D issued a challenge to the James Gang to face them at “Victory Road” in a six-man tag team match. They gave BG and Kip seven days to find a partner. The James Gang answered on Thursday’s broadcast, but instead of once again calling on family patriarch “Bullet” Bob, they revealed the monster Abyss as their partner! Abyss attacked and mauled all of Team 3D, including Brother Runt whom he sent crashing down through tables on the floor. The six-man is now set for the Pay-Per-View: The James Gang and Abyss vs. Team 3D!

Hey guys! Great, great show on Thursday, read below for all the details if you missed it. Here are your full TNA iMPACT! results, enjoy!

OFFICIAL TNA “iMPACT” RESULTS
Thursday, July 27, 2006 – Orlando, FL
By: Marcus Cygy

The James Gang opened the show with Jeremy Borash and Eric Young. BG James told Eric that has planned of avoiding a firing stunk, but he did admit Eric was an entertaining segment, so he invited him into his segment tonight. He wanted Eric Young to team with The James Gang tonight against America’s Most Wanted and their partner who was still unknown. Eric was hesitant but once BG ensured this was the safest route of securing his spot in TNA, he immediately accepted his spot in the match.

Carnage broke loose early on when Brother Runt and Abyss were seen brawling from the entrance tunnel all the way to the ring. James Mitchell clicked doomsday on Runt, and that was the end of the battle of unequally proportioned weight classes. Raven was seen looking on from the crowd.

We began competition in the ring with a Petey Williams vs. Johnny Devine vs. Shark Boy vs. Sonjay Dutt, in a Four-Way X-Division bout. During the match, Kevin Nash and Alex Shelley were on hand on top of a scaffold to scout and study the X-Division match for Nash’s upcoming #1 Contender’s Match for the X-Division Title at Hard Justice against Chris Sabin – a man he defeated at Slammiversary with outside interference. This match would go on to see Petey Williams come out victorious with the Canadian Destroyer on Shark Boy; however, Kevin Nash wasn’t done his X-Division studying.

Backstage, Brother Runt was livid and during the spur of the moment he challenged “The Monster” Abyss to a match, anytime, any place, anywhere, in any kind of match. Quite the lofty challenge, but will it come back to bite the Runt?

Jerry Lynn explained backstage to Chris Sabin that at Hard Justice, his match against Kevin Nash wouldn’t be completely surrounded around wrestling. He’s going to have to learn the psychological and political aspects of the business because Kevin Nash is a manipulator. A prime example would be this match dubbed as a #1 Contendership Match for the X-Division Title, at the request of Nash himself.

Christian Cage came out to speak live in front of the crowd. He said he finally realized something, and that is that Sting came back to TNA to make it the greatest promotion in wrestling history. For that, Cage apologized for his wrong accusations towards Sting in the past, and he did it while holding his rosary necklace to show his sincerity. Sting then showed up in classic fashion from the rafters. He agreed with Cage that Jeff Jarrett was a cancer, and that at Hard Justice the surgery will be completed once and for all – Jarrett disposed from TNA! But will Sting accept Christian Cage to be in his corner at Hard Justice? Find out next week!

AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels have been catered too, and were made the poster boys of TNA. That’s Konnan’s perception anyway, and he also said that LAX are going to make a statement at Hard Justice by winning the NWA World Tag Team Championships, and that’s a guarantee from Konnan.

Our next match was The James Gang and Eric Young against America’s Most Wanted and none other than former Team Canada member, A1. Eric didn’t feel to keen on participating in this match going into it, but once Kip had three words for the viewing audience, Eric was pumped and ready as the crowd repetitively chanted, “Don’t Fire Eric” after Kip. Throughout the match though, Eric was very weary about attacking A1, but on the other hand A1 had no problem having his way against Eric. In the end, after brawls from AMW and The James Gang, it was Eric rolling A1 up for the pin while the adrenaline was running through Eric’s body. Once he realized he pinned A1 to win the match, his smile quickly left his face and he was now helping A1 up to his feet. A1 didn’t want any part of it and shrugged it off as The James Gang celebrated with Eric Young and the crowd.

Continuing Kevin Nash’s training for the X-Division, we had Alex Shelley introducing two stars from Madagascar by the names of Samoalying Joe and Super Blue Cross #6. Alex Shelley demonstrated some moves and combos he learned in Mexico while Johnny Devine presented some of his moonsaults. Kevin responded to Shelley with a couple of smacks across the backs of Samoalying Joe and Super Blue Cross #6’s backs, while he would like to think he did a triple moonsault in response to Devine. Alex seemed puzzled and concerned as to why Kevin wasn’t learning from the best, but he’s not giving up. The X-Division Title will be in the hands of The Paparazzi Productions team sooner than later, as Alex would like to think, but will it be Kevin Nash claiming the gold?

Bobby Roode was featured in a video package this week as being one of the hottest rising stars in the heavyweights division. He’s going to headline shows and raise pay-per-view buy rates, as he said. But next week the interview process for a new manager begins.

It was main event time, which featured “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe taking on “The War Machine” Rhino for the very first time! It was Rhino’s goal to put a stop to Samoa Joe’s 14 month undefeated streak in one-on-one competition – he has never been pinned or submitted. The two were let loose with hard knocking blows early on, but once Joe was knocked down he answered back, as did Rhino in turn.

“The Alpha Male” Monty Brown pulled up a chair to get an up close and personal look of this match. Rhino took the referee out of the equation when a clothesline decked him after Joe ducked. Rhino and The Alpha Male then went on to brawl on the outside, but Joe reminded them he was still here when he went air ball from inside to out of the ring and knocked both of them down. Later, Rhino setup a table standing vertical in front of the entrance tunnel. Monty Brown tried getting back into the action but he was decked by Joe with a high kick and then locked into the Rear Naked Choke. Rhino now took his turn in reminding them he was still here when he delivered the GORE through the table and entrance tunnel! The match was declared a no-contest; we’ll see you next week on Spike TV!

Quick Match Results:
• Four-Way Match: Petey Williams defeated Johnny Devine, Sonjay Dutt, and Shark Boy.
• Eric Young & The James Gang (BG James & Kip James) defeated America’s Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm), & A1.
• Samoa Joe wrestled Rhino, to a no-contest.

Hey guys! Here's more news (along w/ video) from Thursday's iMPACT!, enjoy!

NEWS FROM THURSDAY’S “iMPACT!” ON SPIKE TV

Video From Thursday's Show: http://www.tnawrestling.com/fullnews.php?home=770

There are several news items to report from Thursday’s broadcast of “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV as we continue the road to the August 13 “Hard Justice” Pay-Per-View

STING PROMISES AN ANSWER NEXT THURSDAY NIGHT
On “iMPACT!”, former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage offered an apology to Sting for doubting his true intentions. In order to level the playing field at the Pay-Per-View, Cage went to Jim Cornette and asked that he be in Sting’s corner at “Hard Justice” when he faces Jeff Jarrett for the World Title. Sting responded to Cage from high above the ring, telling the star he would give him his answer next Thursday night on “iMPACT!”.

JARRETT: "I’LL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO BRING STEINER"
Also on Thursday’s broadcast, Jeff Jarrett spoke out about Cage’s offer to Sting, saying that if it does indeed happen he’ll have no choice but to bring “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner to watch his back at “Hard Justice”. Jarrett agreed with Sting that one way or another, one of them will be gone from TNA – but that it will be Sting on his way out!

THE ALPHA MALE HUNTS RHINO AND SAMOA JOE
Rhino and Samoa Joe went to war on Thursday’s “iMPACT!”, but it was “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown that spoiled the outcome when he got involved in the match. The Alpha Male is determined to climb back up the ladder of contention in TNA, and he swore he wouldn’t let Rhino or Joe get in his way.

BROTHER RUNT DOESN’T PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS
On last week’s broadcast, Team 3D told their Brother Runt that they were stepping away from the TNA spotlight to regroup, but in the meantime, they wanted Runt to behave himself. However, it didn’t take Runt long to pick a fight as he immediately went after the monster Abyss! Did Brother Runt learn his lesson, or is he hell-bent on getting annihilated again by Abyss?

WHO WILL MANAGE BOBBY ROODE IN TNA?
Following the break-up of Team Canada, “The Canadian Enforcer” Bobby Roode has become one of the hottest free agents in wrestling. According to TNA management, several names have inquired about leading his career in recent weeks. It was revealed on Thursday’s “iMPACT!” that the interview process to determine who manages Bobby Roode would start next Thursday night on SpikeTV!

Hey guys! What an exciting show it was on Thursday night, should make for a great segway heading into Sunday's PPV, Hard Justice. Enjoy!

OFFICIAL TNA “iMPACT!” RESULTS
Thursday, August 10th, 2006 – Orlando, FL
By: Marcus Cygy

“iMPACT!” on Spike TV opened this evening with Eric Young camping with a tent outside of Cornette’s office in anticipation for his promised meeting this week. He would unfortunately have to wait.

Rhino brought us live in the ring with the reminder of his match this Sunday when he takes on “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown and the undefeated “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe in a falls count anywhere match. What that means is Rhino can take the match right into the stands holding the fans and win the match. Rhino took that literally tonight when he warmed the fans up by entering their grounds and taunted Monty Brown and Samoa Joe.

Monty Brown suddenly emerged from out of nowhere and took “The War Machine” Rhino down to his feet. There will be no chokes, nor any Gores proclaimed Monty Brown. However, Samoa Joe thought otherwise and entered the ring but his entrance was a tad different. Less talk, more action! They brawled with the reappearance of Rhino as security had to restore order in breaking up the fight.

Our opening contest tonight saw Kevin Nash, Alex Shelley, and Johnny Devine of The Paparazzi taking on Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, and Jay Lethal. Shelley and Dutt started out the bout with Sonjay beginning the offense upon later tagging Sabin in. Shelley immediately tagged Nash in, but once he was poked in the eye he bailed with the tag on Devine – possibly a sign that Nash will have his boys on hand this Sunday against Sabin when needed.

Once Devine was able to soften up Jay Lethal in the ring, Kevin demanded a tag and worked on the already tired and beaten Lethal. So confident with his work in the ring, he even gave a few smacks over at Sabin and Dutt in their corners. However, the team of Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, and Jay Lethal would come back with the win after a Cradle Shock was delivered on Devine. Dutt took Shelley out of the equation, while Nash watched on from the outside. It’s almost as if Kevin Nash wants things handed to him, rather than working alone to achieve any feat. He’ll be fighting Chris Sabin at Hard Justice, with the winner getting a shot at the X-Division Title.

After the match, management representative Larry Zbyszko broke the news that Jim Cornette has added Jay Lethal to the X-Division Championship bout this Sunday in what now becomes a three-way match. Champion, Senshi defends against Petey Williams and Jay Lethal! Eric on the other hand was still waiting for his meeting, but Eric would be shafted in hearing the meeting was postponed for a later time tonight.

One half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Christopher Daniels took on one half of their opponents this Sunday, Homicide of LAX. The Fallen Angel would literally win the bout with his Koji Clutch submission, but due to the distraction of Konnan, the referee never witnessed the tapping out by Homicide. Hernandez entered the six-sided ring and took out Daniels with the Cracker Jack, ultimately giving Homicide the win.

After the match, AJ Styles cleaned house with stiff chair shots in giving a message that this Sunday on Pay-Per-View, it’s all business in this violent fight originally brought on by LAX. It’s going to be for the NWA World Tag Team Titles, but will the numbers get in the way?

After showing up various times throughout the night with a sign trying to entice Abyss into having their Hard Justice bout tonight, Brother Runt would finally show up after Shark Boy fell victim to the Black Hole Slam. James Mitchell took the microphone and told Runt that he was a real funny little cockroach for playing these games all night. By this time Brother Runt was atop of the TNA stage and as Abyss inched closer and closer, Runt made the hefty decision of leaping off and taking Abyss down in suicidal fashion. Raven was looking on in much respect to this diabolical outbreak. Abyss would later have his way with Brother Runt, but if this is any indication to what we’re going to see at Hard Justice then we’re going down a roller coaster come Sunday!

Backstage, the meeting between Eric Young and Jim Cornette finally occurred. Cut the presents and gifts aside from Eric, because Cornette didn’t have time for any of it. Instead, Cornette was giving Eric the opportunity to prove himself in TNA, as he will face Johnny Devine this Sunday. If Eric can win the bout, wrestle a great match, and ultimately bring in great ratings then his spot in TNA is secured. If not, then is future is debatable.

Jim Cornette was at the commentary booth for our main event this week featuring Christian Cage versus Scott Steiner. Cornette told the audience that this match will show which man wants to help their partner more because if they can take out their opponent tonight then he won’t be there in the corner of his respective partner come Sunday. Sting has Christian Cage, while NWA World Champion, Jeff Jarrett has Scott Steiner.

The match itself was really a match of strengths and will power. Steiner would showcase his pushup routine early on in mocking Cage. Christian showed no will of giving up though; he would not quit in making his intensions clear. He wants Steiner out so he can prevent Jarrett in weaseling himself out of the match against Sting on Sunday. That’s exactly Jeff Jarrett’s plan though and that’s what prompted him to end this match by beating on Christian and later putting him in the Scorpion Death Lock – a message sent to Sting. However, the message was reversed once the lights went out and back on. Jarrett was now in the Scorpion Death Lock by Sting and you could see pain written all of Jarrett’s face as he went forth on tapping out continuously. Later, Christian Cage awarded Sting the NWA Championship Title as a reminder of what he’s fighting for, a title he once won back on July 7, 1990 – will August 13, 2006 be his second reign? Find out Sunday live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View when TNA Wrestling presents “Hard Justice”!

Quick Match Results:
• Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, & Jay Lethal defeated The Paparazzi (Kevin Nash, Alex Shelley, & Johnny Devine).
• Homicide defeated Christopher Daniels.
• Abyss defeated Shark Boy.
• Christian Cage wrestled Scott Steiner, to a no-contest.
