Well as one announcer said about the U.S. soccer team, "You don't fluke your way into the Round of 8." So skill is definitely involved.
As for no skill being needed for baseball, I'm guessing that is being said by someone who's never played the game. Trust me, baseball takes a LOT of skill.

Interesting replies... I never meant to say soccer didn't require skill - it certainly does - it's just that it takes luck to win games too, especially close ones.
Ah give me Australian rules football or rugby league anyday.
