In Russia, Lindsay Davenport has become the new #1 of the world by defeating Safina with 6-4 and 6-2.

Bovina was too strong for Venus Williams, 6-3 and 6-2. Other women who're always in the Quarter Finals: Kuznetsova, Myskina, Dementieva ... Russian pride!

Semi-Final:

Myskina 6-4, 7-6 Davenport

Honestly, I was expecting a Russian would defeat the American. It IS a Russian tournament.

Roger Federer has cancelled his participation for the Masters in Madrid next week. The reason is simple ... he's too tired. I'm not surprised.

In Madrid, Ljubicic advances to the Quarter Finals after beating Tim Henman with 6-2, 4-6 and 6-4.

In Zurich, it took Venus Williams almost 2 hours to defeat qualifier Ivanovic. The match ended in 7-6 (13-11), 7-6 (8-6) with two exciting tie-breaks.

Sharapova defeats Hantuchova in 2 sets with 6-4 and 7-5. And that was a nice match if we're talking about goodlooking women ...

And it's announced that Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt broke up. And so logically the wedding, which was planned February 2005, is being cancelled. I thought they were a very nice couple.

She now has to defeat Dementieva, who won from Sugiyama with 6-1, 5-7, 7-5.

But yeah for Sharapova!

She's in the Final, which will be played this afternoon. Sharapova defeated #2 seed Dementieva. Her opponent will be Molik, who defeated Schnyder.

I feel a next tournament victory coming ...
