i've been mighty impressed to see Henman perform so well, i go for federer in this OPEN, but would be really happy if Tim were to succeed, where Rusedski failed a couple years back.

Women's Semi-Finals:

Kuznetsova 1-6 6-2 6-4 Davenport

Dementieva 6-0 2-6 7-6 Capriati

Both American girls are out! I was expcting an all American final seeing as both are playing good tennis atm and as they're playing in their home Grand Slam.

Mauresmo will be #1 in the rankings after the final!

Federer 6-3 6-4 6-4 Henman

Both players produced some fine tennis in this entertaining Semi-Final, but Federer's #1 class showed through as he beat Henman. One of the most crucial points in the match came early on when Federer replied to Henman's break in the 6th game (to make it 3-3) by breaking Henman back straight away. He then went on to take the set, which gave Federer a psychological advantage early on.

Hewitt 6-4 7-5 6-3 Johansson

Hewitt was the first player through to the Final. Another 3 set Semi (shame neither went to 5 sets) with the higher ranked player coming out on top. I'm looking forward to the Final and frankly can't work out who is most likelt to win. Both players are on a fine run of form (I think Hewitt hasn't dropped a set so far in this tournament!).

Svetlana Koeznetsova has won the US Open 2004! The Russian player defeated Dementieva with 6-3 and 7-5.

After Myskina and Sharapova, this is the third Grand Slam with a Russian girl as winner.

Federer is without a doubt the #1 player in the world this year. 3 Grand Slams and 6 other Tour Titles. He should win the Champions Race, no doubt.

Tim Henman has climbed to #4 in the Men's Rankings! Hewitt is 3rd, Roddick 2nd and Federer 1st.
