Amelie Mauresmo however is finished, she got defeated by Molik with 5-7, 6-3, 3-6.

The BBC site said she was beaten by that player. I think they must have put them the wrong way round on the results page by accident. I thought your post was for 1st round results too, as I saw that match was in the second round.

How could you be thinking that our dear Maria Sharapova lost so early in the tournament?

I hadn't long woken up and was pretty sleepy still.

San Diego:

Myskina defeated Rubin in 2 sets with 6-1 and 6-2.
Sharapova defeated Dulko with 6-0 and 6-1.

And now these two have to compete against each other. Roland Garros agaist Wimbledon. Who'll win?

Masters in Toronto:

Lleyton Hewitt is out, he got beated by Fabrice Santoro in 3 sets. And #4 seed Moya lost with 4-6, 6-2 and 4-6 from Kiefer.

Roger Federer unleashed his superlative game for a one-two winning punch Thursday, cruising into the quarter-finals of the US$2.5-million Toronto Masters Series event.

The top seed won his 19th and 20th matches in a row, slapping Swede Robin Soderling 7-5, 6-1 in a delayed second-round contest and following with a win over occasional doubles partner Max Mirnyi 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/4).

Federer has been without a coach since splitting with Peter Lundgren before Christmas. It has been no coach, no problem for the 22-year-old Federer who hopes to celebrate his birthday on Sunday in the final. Going coach-less seems to suit the Swiss.

"I'm happy with the way I'm playing, I'm winning my matches in straight sets - I can't ask for more," said the holder of seventh titles - including a second Wimbledon - this season.

"Everything now is about out keeping that level, staying focussed and trying to recover for the next match."

And Federer keeps on winning: He won with 7-5 and 6-4 from Santoro. It's his 21th victory in a row. In 1999, Pete Sampras was 24 matches unbeaten.

Andy Roddick also advances. I think I know what the Final will be.

Females then!

#1 Seed Serena Williams had to withdraw, she was feeling the injury again that kept her from playing tennis for about 8 months. So Zvonareva is through.

THE match everyone was looking forward to:

Myskina 7-5, 6-2 Sharapova

And Davenport defeated Sugiyama with 6-1 and 6-3 and so she's also in the Semi-Final. Could this be her third tournament victory in a row?

Kim Clijsters won't participate at the US Open 2004.

The injury Kim has is healing well, but she can't play 100% with it yet. This is why she unfortunately has to withdraw from the US Open.

Toronto Masters:

Roger Federer defeated Johansson in 3 sets (4-6, 6-3 and 6-2).
And Andy Roddick defeated Kiefer with 7-5 and 6-3.

WTA San Diego:

What an amazing Semi-Final. Myskina and Zvonareva know how to keep up the excitement. The third set ended in a tie-break ... 17-15 for Myskina!

Davenport didn't have much trouble with Dementieva. And so she'll be playing her third Final in a row.

And Lindsay Davenport won another tournament by defeating Myskina with 2 times 6-1.
And Roger Federer did the same thing as he did on Wimbledon, he defeated Andy Roddick.

Top 5 Women's Ranking:
1. Henin 4916
2. (4) Davenport 4274
3. Mauresmo
4. (5) Myskina
5. (2) Clijsters

Davenport is almost #1 of the world again.
