And England EC 2004 ... I see bigger chances for other countries. Sorry Neil. Quote: Originally posted by Jeremy 2004
anyway - - - this is the first time in around 10 years that i have not seen any matches in the 1st 3 days. | There almost hasn't been any matches yet, so that's not so surprising.
Wednesday June 23rd ... a day which is rainy. And that's an understatement. People expect not to play at Wimbledon today ... there goes another day. |

| Henman winning Wimbledon .. Button winning the French GP .. England winning the European Championships .. wow, what a day that could be! .. but realistically I'd be happy with just one of those happening, which would be the Euro 2004 title! I think it's the most realistic as well. We're getting better as the tournament progresses and we certainly don't have any problems finding the net, our only weakness is on deadball situations, which is how we've conceded all four goals. I think to be honest only France and Holland (if the right Holland turns up) could cause us serious problems if we were having a good game.
Hmmm, this isn't the Euro 2004 thread though.
Stupid rain. If it's anything like it is here at Wimbledon, then we won't get a lot of action today. |

| Just the thoughts of that. I would hide away from all forms of media to escape it. |

| Controversial Russian Marat Safin crashed out of Wimbledon at the first round stage on Tuesday and insisted he will never play at the All England Club again.
The 24-year-old, a former world number one and US Open champion, went down 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (7/1) to compatriot Dimitry Tursunov and then said he was so disillusioned with grass courts that he will never take part again.
"I give up on Wimbledon. It's not the tournament for me. I give up on spending times on these courts," said 19th seed Safin whose untidy performance was witnessed by former Russian president Boris Yeltsin.
"I hate this, I hate this. I come here on Friday, Saturday and pratice a couple of days, then I play. I am not going to waste my time knowing that I will not play well."
Safin, who was runner-up at the Australian Open in January after a 2003 ravaged by a wrist injury, was a quarter-finalist here in 2001 but apart from that performance, he has never managed to get beyond the second round.
"I didn't feel like playing. I didn't feel comfortable. I can't move out there. Every time I don't know how it's going to bounce, it's a real nightmare for me.
"So after a while, I just got bored. I lost motivation and gave up." |
