The last of the Brit's have fallen at Queens!

Ian Flanagan was thrashed in 50 minutes by #5 seed Grosjean. The Frenchman won 6-2, 6-0. Marray had a better game against #6 seed Hewitt. He pushed the Australian to a tie break in both sets, but just couldn't find that little bit extra to take the win.

Andy Roddick is through after a 3 set clash with Ancic. Roddick took the 1st set 7-6 on the tie break, but fell 4-6 in the 2nd. He then got an early break in the 3rd, which he held onto to win 6-4. Karol Beck continued his run by putting out #14 seed Karlovic 6-7 7-6 6-3. #8 seed Schalken was defeated 6-7 7-6 3-6 by Taik Lee. Radek Stepanek and Igor Andreev are also through. The result of Dupuis .v. Srichaphan isn't known yet.

Andy Roddick has produced the fastest serve in the history of the game in his victory over Paradorn Srichaphan at Queen's Club.

The American star broke his own world record by 1mph as he produced an amazing serve of 153mph.

The new record will not be made official until the speed has been checked and verified by officials. The world number two was always in control during the match and he required just one break of serve to claim the first set.

Two further breaks gave him the second and a 6-3 6-3 victory over the Thailand star.

He will now face Aussie Lleyton Hewitt in the semi-finals.

I just read that news. It's the second time this year he breaks his own record. Roddicks reaction: "I was pretty surprised, I was serving with the wind against me". Can you image if he was serving with the wind in his back ...

I'm looking forward to that Semi-Final, could be a very good one.

In the Halle tournament (Germany), Roger Federer won his match against Clemant (6-3, 7-5). I'd saw the Final will be between Federer (1) and Schuettler (2).

WTA Birmingham:

Woohoo! Sharapova advances to the Semi-Finals there. She keeps on improving herself. She'll now face #2 seed Patty Schnyder. If she wins that match, the tournament will probably be for the Russian.

Can you imagine how it must feel for his shoulder to be serving at speeds like that everyday!

So, Andy Roddick .v. Leyton Hewitt in one Semi-Final. Should be an interesting match tommorow afternoon.
The second Semi-Final will be played between Grosjean (who beat Stepanek 6-3 6-3) and Taik Lee (who beat Beck 6-4 6-3).

Wimbledon starts on Monday the 21st. So it'll finish on the same day as the Euro 2004 Final and French Grand Prix! (what a day )
There will be some clashes with the football, but a great deal of the tennis at Wimbledon will take place before a football match even kicks-off on the same day.

It's odd because there's usually a three week gap between Roland Garros and Wimbledon, but this year the gap is only 2 weeks. Wimbledon does usually take place at the time it's on, so maybe the French Open was a week later than usual. Anyway, if Wimbledon was taking place a week later, then it would be better.
