The seeds are falling fast!

Andre Agassi is out. He was defeated in 3 sets, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7 by the rising Russian player Andreev. This is Andreev's first year on the tour and he's already climbed to a world ranking of #60.

Henin to miss Wimbledon

World number one Justine Henin-Hardenne has withdrawn from Wimbledon because of a lack of fitness. "My physicians have given me strict orders that several more weeks of rest are necessary to ensure a full recovery," said the Belgian.

Henin-Hardenne has been suffering from a viral infection and was knocked out of the French Open in the second round. Fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters, the world number two, withdrew from Wimbledon on Monday with a wrist injury. "Since the day I walked off the court after the semi-finals at Wimbledon last year, I have been looking forward to competing on the grass again," added Henin-Hardenne, who was runner-up at the All England Club in 2001. "Unfortunately, my dream of holding the Wimbledon trophy must wait another year. I look forward to an early and complete recovery and wish all my colleagues the best of luck."

Clijsters and Henin both out of Wimbledon. I hope this doesn't mean the Williams sisters will be dominant, even though they're both not playing at the peak of their game. Maybe Myskina will have a really great chance of getting her second Grand Slam so close after the first one!

I find that very hypocritical Neil, you say you hope this means that the Williams Sisters wont be dominant but you wont be like that about the Belgians. I find that very twofaced and hypocritical myself.

It seems Agassi's time is gone ...

Kim Clijsters will have to go through an operation. The recovery will take several months and so there's a good chance she'll also be missing the US Open.

I don't see Wimbledon being a Williams sisters tournament. The French Open is the proof of that. Watch out for the Russians.

Yeah Neil, explain.

For some reason I just like to see the Belgians win, but when it's a Williams tournament it's not fun. Don't know why though.

I've said why many times before. It's as simple as I don't like the way the Williams sisters play and I don't like their attitude. They have too many big hitting shots, it's almost like watching a men's game at times. The women's game has always proven to be less powerful than the men's. I find that this produces many more exciting matches than on the men's tour, so I like the women's game more. The Williams sisters just don't appeal to the style of tennis I like and I don't like watching them, therefore I don't want to see them do well. As for the Belgians, I like the way they play and I like their attitude. Although if they were to be dominant for years I'd get fed up with it and hope for someone else to win.

Well I disagree. I will leave it at that as I am not interested getting into an argument.

Well neither do I. I just have very differing opinions on how the Belgians and Williams sisters play.

Wednesday's Order of Play:

(5) S Grosjean (Fr) .v. T Reid (Aus)
M Lopez (Sp) .v. (6) L Hewitt (Aus)
K Beck (Svk) .v. (4) T Henman (GB)
W Moodie (SA) .v. (7) P Srichaphan (Tha)

That's again for the center court.

On Court #1 we have two matches involving British players!

V Hanescu (Rom) .v. I Flanagan (GB)
J Delgado (GB) .v. J Marray (GB)
YS Lu (Tpe) .v. (2) G Coria (Arg)

More seeds have gone crashing out today!

Tim Henman was knocked out a little while ago by Karol Beck in a three set match. Beck took the first set in style 6-2. The Slovakian played some amazing tennis to break Henman twice before serving to win the set. Henman came back strong in the 2nd to win 6-3, but the 3rd set was typical in matches like this. It went on serve all the way to a tie break, which Tim lost from 4-3 up. A disappointing start to his grass-court season..

Coria is also out. He was beaten by Lu 2-6, 4-6. #5 seed Grosjean and #6 seed Hewitt had better luck. Both ahd comfortable wins over their opponents.

Ian Flanagan, the young Brit who knocked out Phili, added another great win to his list by beating Hanescu 7-6, 6-3 earlier today. Despite the two best ranked Brits crashing out, we'll still have 2 British players in the 3rd round! Marray beat Delgado 6-4, 6-3 in the clash of the two British players.

I'm surprised to see Coria even on court to play. Anyways, good to see his injury isn't that bad. But grass isn't his thing.

I see Hewitt coming far on both Queens and Wimbledon. He's coming back to his old form and with the grass season going on at the moment.

#1 Seed Petrova (who'll be coming to Holland soon for a tournament ) lost from Asagoe with 4-6, 6-2 and 4-6. Furthermore, Dokic and Hantuchova are also out. Hantuchova had to give up because of an injury.
