He was beaten in straight sets, in a time of less than two hours, 4-6, 4-6, 4-6. Kuerten must fancy his chances of going a long way in the tournament and winning his 4th French Open title.

Verkerk vs Malisse or Hewitt vs Costa ...

I think the chances on a 'Netherlands/Belgium'-match are extremely limited.
Verkerk trails 1-5 in his first set against Hewitt.

Hewitt won against Verkerk, but not by that much: 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. The tournament's over for the Dutch player.

Belgian Xavier Malisse just lost his second set against Costa with 6-2. Malisse won the first set with 4-6.

As said before, clay is not his thing. And don't underestimate Martin Verkerk.

Henman has a good 4th round draw ... his opponent is Llodra.

Davenport lost to Dementieva. And no, that wasn't a surprise. I saw the match and , she's good. Lindsay did have a little injury though.

Sharapova advances to the Quarter Finals. She defeated Weingartner with 6-3 and 6-1.

Verkerk played a good match against Hewitt. Don't worry, Belgium will avenge Holland's loss as Xavier Malisse is playing against Hewitt tomorrow!

'X-Man' Malisse, the last remaining Belgian player in the tournament eliminated ex-Roland Garros winner Albert Costa in 5 sets: 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-7 and 6-8 after 4 hours and 21 minutes of top tennis.

Xavier played a fantastic match against Roland Garros specialist Costa, he came back four times during the match to survive. He stayed focused and that's something new to Malisse. He has grown so much and got so much better (mentally) over the last couple of months. He has a new coach and a hot, Venezualian girlfriend.

Malisse has nothing to lose anymore now, therefore he can play at ease against Hewitt tomorrow. It could be a great match. Belgium vs Australia with Kim Clijsters in the audiance, cheering on ... both? It's her fiancee vs her fellow country teammate.


I want her to win, honestly!
So young and already so good. She can become BIG!
