Thats really bad, poor Venus, They have a good way to go but I am sure they can do it. Hope Serena is back competing again soon. It isnt the same without her.

I think the key is mentally. Do they want to come back on the highest level. They're still both young enough, their bodies can still take it, no problem there. The key question will just be whether they will be able and willing to win the mental fight.

Henin is the final of the Dubai tournament. She beat Meghan Shaughnessy, 6-4 and 6-2.

They seem to already think that they've won part of the mental battle. If the 'championship winning form' attitude that Serena seems to have adopted is true and not just something she's saying, then she'll soon find out she's very wrong. That could knock her back mentally.

Exactly.
And I really don't believe they already won the mental batlle (like they say they do).

First they should clear their mind and focus on tennis and only tennis if they want to get on the top again. And yes, that means losing all thoughts and distractions of catwalks or soda commercials or award shows ... etc.

What I loved about the Williams girls is how hard they fought to get where they are, the drive, the determination, I really admire that and that is why I like them both.

We're hoping that's EXACTLY what they can find back. Saying they have it back isn't enough. They can't prove it with words off-court, they need to prove it with results and actions on-court.

It's all about priorities ... what's the most important to them? What do they want to focus on? Award shows? Commercials? Tennis? Fashion shows?

They have seen the other side of their sport where they can find a celebrity lifestyle.

Neither do I. I think it'll take lots of practice and match experience out on the court until they can be back in 'championship form'.

Yes, they don't need to be distracted by non-tennis luxuries, all it'll do is delay their return to the peak of their game, or prevent that from happening at all..
