Big Grin Survivor Series Thread

www.wwe.com

Well hey guys! Its my favorite time of year AGAIN and that means its Survivor Series time. There are already 2 matches confirmed:

RAW vs. SmackDown 5-on-5 Elimination Match
November 27, 2005

This one is about more than just a win or a loss. This one is about pride. This one is about RAW and SmackDown trying to show its superiority over the other. These two sides have been invading each other’s turf for the past month, and it will finally come to a head when five RAW Superstars will meet five SmackDown Superstars in a battle of survival for all the bragging rights.

SmackDown is heading into this one with all of the momentum thus far. The fans voted in Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy to represent SmackDown at Taboo Tuesday against the team of Snitsky and “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters. While Mysterio and Hardy may have been overmatched in the size department, they utilized their quickness and high-flying ability to catch the RAW monsters off guard. The win was a major coup as SmackDown was able to make itself look like the superior brand on a RAW pay-per-view. Will lightning strike twice at Survivor Series? Or will RAW avenge their Taboo Tuesday loss?

Of course Im sure the guys who will be part of this match will be named soon enough!

RAW GM Eric Bischof vs. SmackDown GM Theodore Long
November 27, 2005

It was only a matter of time before these two General Managers would end up facing each other in a match. In fact, it’s a wonder these two haven’t formally clashed sooner. Although their rivalry began to intensify around WWE Homecoming, this was a natural rivalry ever since Theodore Long took over as General Manager of SmackDown in 2004. It only makes sense that Bischoff wants the superior brand and vice versa.

But the fuel was really added to the fire when it was announced that RAW would be going home to the USA Network. To kick off the move back to USA, RAW planned to put on a three-hour extravaganza the likes of which had never been seen. While this seemed perfect for Bischoff, Long wanted in on some of the action as well. After all, with all the hype behind WWE Homecoming, there would be a ton of national exposure.

So, Long visited Eric Bischoff on RAW and asked if SmackDown could be a part of WWE Homecoming. Bischoff wanted no part of what he felt was the inferior brand, but it just so happened that Mr. McMahon was also around that night. The Chairman felt that having SmackDown at Homecoming was a great idea, and he allowed Long to make one match to showcase his SmackDown talent. Long and his SmackDown Superstars arrived at Homecoming ready to show the RAW audience their extraordinary talents. But there was one problem. Mr. McMahon had already left for the night after being embarrassed by Stone Cold Steve Austin, so Bischoff took it upon himself to leave SmackDown in the dark – literally. He turned off the lights just as the SmackDown six-man tag match was about to begin. SmackDown got the last laugh, though, as they stormed the ring after the main event as an all-out RAW vs. SmackDown battle ensued.

Over the next couple of weeks, members from RAW and SmackDown began invading each other’s turf. Something had to be done. So, in an effort to settle the score, a RAW vs. SmackDown tag team match was set up for Taboo Tuesday. RAW’s team ended up consisting of Snitsky and “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters, and the fans voted in Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio to represent SmackDown. Mysterio and Hardy proved to be the better team and scored the huge victory on a RAW pay-per-view.

Just days later, Bischoff showed up on SmackDown and told Long that enough was enough. In an effort to totally settle the score once and for all, they agreed to have a 5-on-5 elimination match at Survivor Series. Bischoff seemed content with that plan, but Long had another idea for the RAW GM. In addition to the elimination match, Long challenged the karate black belt to a RAW GM vs. SmackDown GM Match as well. An enraged Bischoff accepted the match, while Long seemed very happy with himself thuggin’ and buggin’ in the ring. Will Bischoff’s karate background give him the edge, or will it be Long making Bischoff holla, holla, holla when it’s all said and done?

Cool

Thanks for making this thread Trista. You got to it before I did, but that's cool with me. You're not the only SS fan in the house, I happen to be a HUGE fan of this great PPV. From all the SS I've watched over the years, I haven't been disappointed. I'm sure this year's show will live up to the hype & them some. To see Teddy Long & Bischoff go at it in the ring will be a sight to see, I hope Mr. Long takes Eric to school. As for the SmackDown! vs. RAW match, I want to see SD! victorious. I happen to think that SD! is the better of the 2 brands, even though a few of my favorite wrestlers are on RAW (Cena & HBK to name a few).

Just added to the SS card, last night on RAW - Ric Flair vs. Triple H in a Last Man Standing Match and John vs. Kurt for the WWE Title. As well, 4 members of Team RAW for the SmackDown! vs RAW Elimination Match were named, check out RAW Results - The Official Thread for more.

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle For The WWE Championship
November 27th, 2005

After weeks of Kurt Angle defeating John Cena at every turn, the WWE Champion thought he finally vanquished the Olympic Gold Medalist by defeating him and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat Match at Taboo Tuesday.

However, on the RAW following Taboo Tuesday, Eric Bischoff announced that the war would continue, and Angle and Cena would go one on one for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. Later that night, hand-picked referee Daivari helped Angle & Chris Masters beat Cena & HBK, and the WWE Champion was left lying thanks to a chair shot from Daivari.

Can the Champ overcome the Olympic Gold Medalist one more time, or will Angle become a five-time WWE Champion on Nov. 27? Tune into Survivor Series to find out.

Triple H vs. Ric Flair In A Last Man Standing Match
November 27th, 2005

At Taboo Tuesday, Ric Flair got his wish, and defeated Triple H in a Steel Cage Match to retain the Intercontinental Championship. While he won that battle, the war between the former friends proved to be far from over.

The next week on RAW, Eric Bischoff announced that Flair and Triple H would meet again at Survivor Series, this time in a Last man Standing Match. Later that night, Triple H attacked Flair after his match with Rob Conway, battling through the crowd with the "Nature Boy" in the latest of a series of brawls between the two.

Will "The Dirtiest Player in the Game" prevail once more at Survivor Series, or will the Cerebral Assassin find a way to conquer his former friend? Tune in on Nov. 27 to find out.

You are so welcome Ryan!! Like I said, I love this PPV next to WM of course. Im so excited to see who Batista will wrestle for the title, unless he will be part of the SD team, BUT I doubt that. Teddy Long will probably reveal his opponent soon.

I have a feeling Edge might come around and be added as the 5th member to the RAW team. P.S.- I think it's total BS that Carlito is on the team. Shelton Benjamin is ten times more deserving and doesn't deserve to be buried on Heat the way he has for the last few months.

These teams are gonna be mid to middle upper card level status as far as superstar quality. I think the main candidates for Teddy Long's team are Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Hardcore Holly, JBL, Chris Benoit, Booker T, Ken Kennedy, and Bobby Lashley.

I have a feeling this is gonna be yet another great Survivor Series.

The latest match to be added to the SS card, Trish vs. Melina for the Women's Title -

Trish Stratus vs. Melina For The Women's Championship
November 27th, 2005

For months, Melina has claimed to be the dominant Diva on SmackDown. At Survivor Series, Melina looks to become the most dominant Diva in all of WWE when she meets Trish Stratus for the Women’s Championship.

On the Nov. 14 edition of RAW, Trish and Melina took part in an inter-promotional Diva Battle Royal. Melina and Trish were the last two women standing, and the SmackDown Diva was able to eliminate the Women’s Champion to win the Battle Royal.

The next week, two masked men abducted Trish as she stood at ringside watching Mickie James take on Candice Michelle. MNM were later revealed as her captors, and after binding and gagging Trish, Melina revealed her motive: gold. Melina challenged Trish to a match at Survivor Series for the Women’s Championship. Trish obliged, but a vicious kick to the head by Melina left her sprawled out on the floor.

Will Melina be able to claim the throne and win the Women’s Championship, or will Trish give the RAW brand a little Stratusfaction? Tune into Survivor Series on Nov. 27 to find out.

Survivor Series review by Duffyboy.

Booker T VS Chris Benoit
Good match spoiled by that God awful, irritating and annoying fucking bitch Sharmell who helped Booker T win the contest.

Melina VS Trish Stratus
One of the best Women's matches we've seen in a very long time. Trish won with a top rope stratusfaction. And boy can Melina wrestle! Big things planned for her im sure!

Ric Flair VS HHH
Again HHH carried the match from pillar to post and deservedly won after cracking the "old bastard" over the back with a sledgehammer. (Hope it hurt)

Edge promo: The Cutting Edge.
One of the best parts of the night. Turns out that the latest talk show segment will be hosted by Edge and Lita. All microphones and no bullshit. He decided to rip on detroit for a while until this Dimitri guy or some shit teased him about having no title belt. Good point. Why didnt he just call out an injured Batista and use the MITB title shot?!

Kurt Angle VS John Cena
My fucking GOD wasn't this fun! Not even the presence of the evil Sheik Daivari could get Angle any heel heat. Sadly King Wigger is stil the champ after A SMACKDOWN REFEREE made the call! Errr..... Continuity?!

Teddy Long VS Eric Bischoff
Brock Lesnar & Goldberg come back. ALL IS FORGIVEN! By far the worst PPV match of the year and probably worse than Doink The Clown vs Conway! Long won after the Boogeyman interfered.

Team Smackdown VS Team RAW
And when it was all said and done, Smackdown is now the most dominant brand in WWE.....fuck. Orton was mobbed at the end then scared shitless by the return of the Deadman!
