Colin Healy will choose between joining Aston Villa, Everton and Sunderland after the weekend.

My bet is on him joining Villa and joining up with Dave O'Leary.
Great player, one for the future.

On to something other than Beckham now
Something in the football world not about Beckham say it isn't so. Surely other teams can't be doing business when Beckham may be being sold...the world must stop till this is over.

Harry Kewell is expected to meet with Arsenal this week regarding a possible move to Highbury. This comes after he refused to sign a new deal with Leeds.
If that does go through it would be a good move, he is a very good player.

Manchester City are keen to sell a few players including Darren Huckerby
If only Forest has enough money....at the moment we are looking at all offers for any of our players. It is rumoured that Johnson could move to a Tottenham, I really hope not.

Manchester United today reached agreement for the transfer of David Beckham to Real Madrid for a fee of €35m (approximately £25m).
The deal is expected to be completed in July, conditional upon approval by the boards of Manchester United and Real Madrid, and on the provision of satisfactory payment guarantees.

David Beckham has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid and expects to sign his new contract with the club on completion.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I’ve known David since he was 11 years of age, and it’s been a pleasure to see him grow and develop into the player he has become. David has been an integral part of all the successes that Manchester United have achieved in the last decade. I would like to wish him and his family every success in the future, and thank him for his service to the club."

Peter Kenyon, chief executive of Manchester United, said: "While we are sad to see David go after so many great years at Old Trafford, we believe this is a good deal for the club, and we now look forward to building on the success of last season’s championship title. We wish David all the best in his new career in Spain and thank him for his fantastic contribution to the team’s achievements in the last decade. We have worked closely with David’s advisors throughout the past few weeks and thank them for their co-operation."

Under the terms of the agreement, €7.5m of the total fee will be paid upon completion of the sale, and €17.5m over the following four years in equal instalments. The remaining €10m is conditional upon Real Madrid's performances in the UEFA Champions League. Under the deal, €1.25m is payable in each of the next four seasons conditional on Real Madrid qualifying for the Champions League, and a further €1.25m is payable each season conditional on Real Madrid reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League over the same period. All the deferred payments will be backed by acceptable guarantees.

Lol, well at least the whole saga seems to be finally resolved.

I've read a few articles about Beckham's transfer to Real Madrid. He confirmed what I thought, he wants to be playing in the Champions League next season. Barcelona had no chance of signing him, their new president was over-confident. The move is still not a great one though ...... just another attacking player for a team already full of attack minded players. I really can't see how Beckham will fit in to their team, I think it could be a damaging move for him in the end.

In other news it's possible that Harry Kewell could be staying at Leeds as he hasn't ruled out signing a new contract for them, which goes against what was reported a few days ago.

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is set to hold talks with Teddy Sherringham about a possible move to the club this week.

I'm not sure if this should go in here but I just find his story funny especially the part in bold:

Nottingham Forest have confirmed that former striker Pierre van Hooijdonk is taking legal action against them.

Van Hooijdonk fell out with Forest when he accused them of lacking ambition and he missed the first 11 games of the 1998/99 campaign when he refused to return to the City Ground.

The Dutch international eventually moved to Vitesse Arnhem in 1999 but has issued a writ claiming more than £650,000 arising from his transfer.

Forest offered van Hooijdonk a significant sum of money to settle his contract when he moved to Vitesse but the striker never signed the agreement and is now claiming a portion of the transfer fee as well as a loyalty bonus.

"Transfer fees are a private agreement between two clubs involved in the deal and no player is ever entitled to a portion of a transfer fee - unless the clubs and player formalise an agreement in writing at the time of the transfer," Forest's finance director John Pelling told the club's official website

"This was not the case with the transfer of van Hooijdonk to Vitesse.

"That he should also claim a loyalty bonus at the end of a season in which he had gone on strike and made himself unavailable for first-team matches or training beggars belief, and the club intends to vigorously defend this and all claims by van Hooijdonk.

"The club intends a counter-claim based on the damage the player inflicted on his own transfer value by taking strike action and his inability to perform during his final season at the City Ground."

BTW as the new fixtures come out tommorrow should we start a new Nationwide league thread?
