Here's the latest in the rollercoaster ride of the Beckham saga!

Real Madrid have apparently arranged for a meeting to take place between themselves and Beckham's advisers on June 23rd. After that the Spanish team will then give Beckham four days to decide whether or not he wants to move there. Beckham won't be present at this meeting himslef as he is jetting off to the Far East on a promotional tour ..... another watse of his time when he should be resting and all the fault of his wife.

Madrid can't meet with Beckham's camp until they have agreed a transfer agreement with Man. United, which is expected to happen after the presidential elections for Barcelona.

I personally still believe that Beckham doesn't want to leave, but in the end he might be pressured out ........

In other Man. United news Barthez has pledged his future to the club by saying that he wants to stay there until the ned of his contract, with expires in the summer of 2006.

Arsenal are believed to be offering Jermaine Pennant as part of a £4 million deal that would see Harry Kewell move to Highbury. Pennant is worth £2.5 million, so this would easily cover half of the transfer costs.

Portsmouth had been gaining quite a few new players over the last few weeks, but now they have lost one .... Festa. He's left for Italy to play for Cagliari. He played a big role in helping Portsmouth gain promotion to the Premiership and so will be missed.

Charlton have had a £750000 bid for Ipswich defender Matt Holland accepted after talks between the player and Portsmouth fell through after personal terms could not be agreed upon.

The result of Barcelona's presidential elections are in ...... Joan Laporta, the man who wants to sign Beckham, has won. Apparently he won the elections by a landslide. I still think that if Beckham leaves United it wouldn't be Barcelona, they really don't have much to offer him.

Lol, it must be really appealing for him!

Barcelona are now '80%' confident in signing Beckham. They are due to meet Beckham's representatives sometime later this week.

On to something other than Beckham now ...... Harry Kewell is expected to meet with Arsenal this week regarding a possible move to Highbury. This comes after he refused to sign a new deal with Leeds.

Birmingham are moving closer to signing David Dunn from Blackburn and could possibly be after Pierre Van Hooijdonk.

Portsmouth have agreed a fee for Wimbledon's 19 year old midfielder Niger Reo-Coker, who is highly rated.

Manchester City are keen to sell a few players including Darren Huckerby, Gerard Wiekens, Paul Ritchie and Alfe Inge Haaland. Kevin Keegan hopes to use the money to buy a few new players so that his side can be strengthened.

Lastly something that hasn't anything to do with Transfers, but doesn't really fit anywhere else right now ...... Manchester United and Arsenal have been put in the top seedings group for next season's Champions League. This means they'll avoid AC Milan, Juventus, Lazio, Real Madrid, Deportivo La Coruna and Bayern Munich in the group stage.

All the teams competing in next season's CL, starting with the very first Qualifying Round are listed Here
