Yes, I've had a chance to read more about it now. There's an article on the BBC Sports Website in which the players are asking Veron to stay at the club. Van Nistelrooy in particular said that Veron was the best player on the pitch last night. Here's some of the quotes:

VN - "Seba was the best player on the pitch, He didn't lose the ball once, all his passes came off and the assist for my goal was absolutely brilliant."

VN - "When he got the ball in the build-up to my goal I knew he was going to pass to me because he can play passes like that with the outside of his foot."

An Update on a player I tipped for big things last Season..

Norwich have signed highly-rated striker Ryan Jarvis to a three-year contract.

Jarvis, who became the Canaries youngest-ever first-team player last season, has committed himself to Carrow Road until 2006.

He also has the option of extending his contract by another year.

Jarvis said: "I am delighted to sign and excited to be taking part this season."

Briggs keen to take chance

Norwich boss Nigel Worthington said: "He is one for the future of the club.

"Everyone, not least Ryan himself, has worked hard to get Ryan where he is."

Man. United have now admitted that an offer was made by Chelsea for Veron, but they haven't decided whether to accept the offer or not. They should make a decision by the middle of this coming week, I damn well hope they make the right one.

Man Utd are after highly rated Ajax defender Trabelsi and he is expected to sign this week. Fergie put a 6 Million bid in for him.

They'd have more chance on Trabelsi than on Rafael ... the latter only lengthed his contract with Ajax this summer and he better stay! And I think he knows that's the best for him to stay at least one or two more years playing in the Dutch competition, then he'll be the perfect 'complete' player to get a high transfer to a club he calibre of Man U ...
