Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is on the verge of joining Chelsea, according to his agent Fernando Hidalgo.

The Argentine international turned down a move to Stamford Bridge last week, but Hidalgo has revealed that the transfer is back on.

Hidalgo met Chelsea officials on Tuesday and further talks are scheduled for Wednesday.

Cool

^He'd better not be leaving United, losing Beckham was alright, but losing Beckham and Veron in one summer isn't good.

I see Verón ending up with Chelsea, the story just keeps going on, I think one day (soon) the transfer will be finalized.

Transfer News:

Fulham have signed French defender Jerome Bonnissel on a two-year deal as they look to replace Steve Finnan.

Bonnissel joins from Bordeaux, after spending the last five months of the season at Rangers where he played a handful of games.

Nigel Martyn's £500,000 move from Leeds United to Chelsea could be back on after the Elland Road club confirmed he was free to leave.

Martyn had turned down a switch to Stamford Bridge as competition for first-choice Carlo Cudicini after Chelsea's new signing Jurgen Macho picked up a serious knee injury.

The 36-year-old decided to stay at Elland Road - but he is now expected to sign a two-year deal with Chelsea.

Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira wants to stay at Highbury - and has blamed rumours about his departure on a former agent.
The French international's contract with the London club expires in one year and he has still not signed an extension, prompting talk of a switch to Manchester United.

But the negotiations which have been ongoing for months are reaching a conclusion and Vieira is ready to commit his future.
