| Spurs have announced their first signing of the summer will be the highly rated Brazilian defender Rodrigo Defendi.
Tottenham will pay Brazilian side Cruzeiro £600,000 for the young defender's services and he will become the first signing made under the new management regime at the club.
The club announced that the 18-year-old will sign a four year deal with the club when formalities with his current club are completed next week and he will then join up with the rest of the squad in pre-season training.
Meanwhile according to Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids, Spurs are in the race to land his signature as he looks to find a new club and is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Italian giants Juventus.
Davids said: "I have had two offers from England that I like a lot, but I especially like the one from Tottenham.
"The defeat is too fresh in my head to be able to think about other things, so I still do not know where I will be playing next season.
"I will not decide anything until I return from holiday. All I can say is that still I do not know where I will play." |

| The two footballing news items I've found most interesting over the last few days is the signing of Dennis Rommedahl from PSV Eindhoven and that Tottenham are said to be favourites to sign Davids from Barcelona. Rommedahl joins Charlton Davids boost for Tottenham |

| Rommedahl is a great signing for Charlton. Crespo and Mutu are expected to be sold, Crespo wants to return to AC Milan. |

If Chelsea start a cycle of selling players they buy within a year, then they may have a problem in trying to find players who want to move there. Having said that, if Mourinho does as well as he claims he can do, Chelsea shouldn't have that problem. We'll see once the season starts. |

| I think they should keep Mutu, He is a good player and has a lot to offer, he just had some bad luck and ran out of form with all the swapping around. I think Crespo should go as he has been very poor. |

I also wonder whether Kezman is going to play much. In 122 matches for PSV, he scored 105 goals.
Michael Reiziger will be playing for Middlesbrough. He signed a contract for 2 years. |

| Chelsea have agreed a £5 million price for Kezman, I think he will play a lot seeing as Hasslebaink will be gone too. Mourinho is a different style of manager to Ranieri. |

| And Crespo could have been but he was swapped around so much that it was impossible to be consistant.
I thought Kezman was born in Yugoslavia? |
