Default Stinger, can you explain something to me?

I'm not exactly 100% clear on your opinion of the physical aspect of wrestling. You've said before, "nobody wants to watch people break eachother's necks for real." Not to sound like I'm putting words in your mouth, but are you saying that injuries in pro wrestling are not real? Or am I severely misunderstanding you. Because I'm quite sure we all understand that the things those guys do to eachother are not fake.

IMO most punches don't land and they know how to land to prevent injury, when they get hurt it's because of wear-n-tear or a mistake

and then some injuries are completely faked, like Goldberg's "shattered ankle"

Some moves should sometimes tried to be avoided. I know they're awesome and spectacular, but they bring in huge risks for neck and back, like for example a powerbomb or a piledriver ...

That's mostly incorrect if you go by J.R.'s statements in his book. His list of Top 10 Misconceptions about Wrestlers contains "They don't really hit eachother" and "They learn how to fall."

And that comes from a man who knows more about the business than probably anyone else you can think of. 30+ years of experience for that guy.

Of course, if you've seen Tough Enough, that's clear cut proof that they do learn how to minimize the risk of severe injury. We've all seen Al Snow teaching the kids how to land flat on their backs.

But again, there's no learning how to fall so that it doesn't hurt.

Oh my, I seriously don't come here enough suddenly. It took Karen of all people to tell me this thread was here. *smacks head*

But anyways, yeah that was kind of what it looked like when I talked about that, though in order to not digress too much from the original topic, I decided to not elaborate on it. The way I feel regarding that is the difference between those sports and pro-wrestling is that in pro-wrestling people don't intentionally break eachother's bones. Something that the crowds in those other sports actually cheer for. Hence the word 'sickening' coming to mind.

That it happens in pro-wrestling too sometimes is fact, but that's a risk factor rather than the purpose of the game.

I hope that clarified that a bit.

Well it would seem so. I mean, I'm sure they're not hitting with full force, otherwise these guys would be knocked out in an instant. But yes, these blows are landed.

You know who I would hate to be kicked in the head by? Tajiri. Daaaamn.

It certainly did. Thank you. I figured that's what you meant. I just wasn't sure.
