The All-Texas battle- that both cynics and experts predicted no one would watch- between the Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks topped the cable television ratings for the week ending May 25. This according to ratings gurus at Nielsen Media Research.
Four Western Conference Finals games that were played Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday of last week blew away the competition and grabbed top ratings for TNT. Results for the other games will be released next week.
Who says the NBA needs the Lakers to draw top ratings? If anything, this shows the rest of the world that NBA fans may have actually been tired seeing the on-court smirks of the purple and gold.
