Default ..and so the new season begins!

The World Cup is over! ..but yet the new season is already underway! There is no rest for Footballers these days.

On Tuesday the 1st Qualifying Round for this season's CL will start!! .. and on Wednesday we shall see the beginning's of new UEFA Cup season. Both of these qualifying rounds don't exactly feature big sides (the UEFA Cup QR1 has Rapid and Steaua Bucharest!), but it won't be long until we see the big names.

Tommorow will decide the fate of Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina in Serie A. Will it be Serie C for the Italian champions!? .. I certainly hope the Italian's victory in the World Cup Final will not sway the decision. A big summer sale is almost definitely certain if the punishment ends up as relegation for each club. All 4 probably won't see European competition this season as well..

Same can be said for Greek teams, who have been expelled from European competition, as have the national side been excluded from playing any matches.. so Greece are very unlikely to be able to defend their European crown.

The Intertoto Cup has alreadystarted! Next weekend sees the 3rd Round taking place, with teams such as Newcastle, Hertha Berlin,Villarreal, Auxerre and Marseille all playing.

The Premiership kicks-off in 40 days.

Good, because I thought I would have to go through football withdrawl. I most likely won't be getting any of those matches though.

Can I predict Juve dominating Serie C?

I'm going to play the Official FIFA World Cup game to relieve my WC withdrawl symptoms!
Trinidad & Tobago have already won the World Cup with me!

The Italian leagues will still be on, and the clubs will be able to play, its just a matter of whether they're relegated or not.

There is supposed to be some sort of an Amnesty if Italy had won and they have so Well the Italian league would be ruined if they are found guilty. All the players will leave, club in ruins. The officals accused should be banned from sport and leave the clubs be (as the players are innocent of all charges)

If the four teams (Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina & Lazio Roma) are found guilty this week, I assume the clubs on the ranking of last season just move up to decide who'll compete in the CL and UEFA Cup next season? Champions League for AS Roma?

How is the UEFA going to organize that? 'Cause Greece always have around 5-6 teams playing in the European competitions ...
