Manchester United 3-1 Porto

FC Porto were definitely playing better in the 2nd half, but with 11 against 9 that's not too difficult. Porto striker Adriano (he's Brazilian as well, but I'm not referring to the Internationale striker who has made a silent transfer ) got 4 big chances and he could have brought Porto back into the match.

The Norwegian player Solksjaer is back though, wiith a great 3rd goal.

AZ Alkmaar have a new stadium and their first match was a friendly one against Arsene Wenger's Arsenal. Arsenal won with 0-3.

Ofcourse I did! And I also know we don't have a good record against Ireland. WC 2002 Qualifications? We lost.

Last week a pre-selection has been made official by Van Basten. A list with 31 names from which Van Basten will choose around 23 players to travel along with him to Ireland. Van Nistelrooy & Van Bommel are in the selection list of 31 names, but the question is whether they can come along or not ...

Does the match 'live' in Ireland? In other words, are people talking about it/looking forward to it?
I only read about it recently but a lot of people are talking about it. People are interested to see if RVN makes the trip.

I haven't seen Rooney's 'red card challenge' yet, but I've read that the player who was on the receiving end made a meal out of it.

Mainz 5-0 Liverpool ..

..and Marton O'Neill has been appointed as the new Aston Villa manager! Maybe they can finally do something more than just mess around in midtable all season with this change.

A yellow card would have been enough for Rooney's foul. Scholes received two deserved yellow cards though.

Porto & Inter have just kicked off in their last match at the Amsterdam Tournament. Inter have just scored 2-0 thanks to Pizarro & Martins!

Werder Bremen & Bayern Munich are playing the Liga Pokal Final. Bremen are 1-0 up.

I hope Bayern turn that one around! Its been a while since I have seen Martins play. He always looked a good player.

I hear Newcastle are interested in Kuyt and Roeder is watching him in action.

It looks like Ribery is after a move after all. He wants a move to another CL club. I think he is a really good player. He did say the following: "The Marseille club officials know where I want to go, and the club I wish to sign for also know it."

Ribery added: "My choice is made and I will not go back. Now both clubs have to reach an agreement."

On another note, Valencia have offered Simao a 6 year deal and The deal would be worth a global 12 million Euros to the player – who could also raise this figure by meeting performance objectives as well.
