Smackdown Results January 1st:

Smackdown! opened up with footage from two weeks ago when Paul Heyman gave Hardcore Holly a match on Smackdown! teaming with Shannon Moore against Matt Morgan and A-Train. If Hardcore Holly won that match, he would keep his job on Smackdown! and earn a shot at the WWE Championship but if he lost the match, he would be out of a job and of course, that means he'd get no title shot. The end of the match saw Hardcore Holly and Shannon Moore winning with Holly earning a shot at Brock Lesnar's Championship at a yet-to-be-determined location and time!

The Smackdown! fireworks went off in the arena to kick it off for the New Year and Tazz and Michael Cole kicked it off on commentary, wishing everyone a Happy New Year and welcoming everyone to 2004! Cole and Tazz announced that Hardcore Holly would be facing Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship!

Cruiserweight Championship Match - Rey Mysterio vs. Tajiri

Rey Mysterio's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for a one on one match against Tajiri for the Cruiserweight Title!

Mysterio and Tajiri locked it up in the center of the ring and Tajiri shoved Mysterio back and then the two locked it up once again with Rey Mysterio grabbing Tajiri in a waist lock until Tajiri pushed Mysterio down to the mat.

Tajiri went for the springboard elbow but Rey gave Tajiri a drop kick to knock him out of the ring and then he went off the ropes and jumped over the top rope with a plancha on Tajiri to knock him down on the outside of the ring.

Mysterio knocked Tajiri into the ropes and set him up for the 619 but Akio slid into the ring distracting the referee and when Mysterio went for the 619, Sakoda caught Mysterio, pulling him out of the ring and dropping him on the arena floor.

Tajiri hung Mysterio up in the tree of woe position and then he gave him a drop kick to the knee to knock him down and then he covered him for a two count.

Tajiri later went for the tarantula but Mysterio held onto the ropes and Tajiri tried to roll Mysterio up but Mysterio rolled through and then kicked Tajiri in the face with a drop kick. Mysterio then perched Tajiri on the top rope and gave him a hurricanrana to take him down to the center of the ring and then he pinned him for a two count.

From the ring apron, Mysterio bounced off the ropes and sat down on Tajiri but Tajiri rolled through and put Mysterio in a half crab and Mysterio fought and battled to get to the ropes to break the hold.

After a cheap shot by Akio on Mysterio, Tajiri picked Mysterio up and gave him a running power bomb and a pin for a two count. Tajiri then went for the kick of death but Mysterio ducked it and rolled Tajiri up for a two count.

Mysterio gave Tajiri a hurricanrana to send him into the second rope and then he hit him with the 619 and followed it up with the West Coast Pop but missed and then Tajiri gave Mysterio a kick to the face.

Sakoda grabbed Mysterio on the ring apron and Tajiri went to spit the green mist into the face of Mysterio but Mysterio ducked it and Tajiri hit Sakoda with it.

Then Mysterio caught Tajiri in a hurricanrana pin after knocking Akio down from the ring apron and he covered him for the three count to get the win!

Rey Mysterio celebrated his title win and the crowd went wild for the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion! As Mysterio celebrated his win, Michael Cole got in the ring and congratulated him on his win. Michael also wished Rey a Happy New Year and what a way to kick off the New Year. Rey said that he has a new year's resolution and that was to become the Cruiserweight Champ. He'll be honest, he didn't think it was going to happen tonight, but it did. He's proud to say that he loves what he does and that's performing for everyone in the world! Since this is a New Year, he wants to say Happy New Year to everybody around the world! Mysterio said something in Spanish and then The Big Show's music hit and he made his way out to the ring as the United States Champion. Big Show got in the ring and said yeah, yeah, he's the Cruiserweight Champion, meanwhile he has more important things to discuss right now. Business he wants to discuss is the hottest thing on the market right now. Big Show held up his newest shirt and it said "Chicks Dig it Big" and that's one of their innuendos.

On the back of the shirt, it says "And it just don't get any bigger than this." It's an innuendo too, so it's a little play on words. Big Show said that he took notice that some of the fans out there are kind of fat, so why shouldn't they have a piece of WWE Merchandise themselves? So don't be the only fan in town that doesn't have the hottest shirt on the market right now and that's The Big Show's shirt. They have it in extra large, all the way up to 3X, for the overweight fans. Rey Mysterio grabbed the shirt and Big Show told him that if he wants one, he'll be more than happy to sell him one. That one is Big Show's, please give it back. Big Show got angry and Mysterio acted as though he was going to throw it, but he held it behind him away from The Big Show instead. Big Show told Rey that if he throws that shirt over the top rope, he swears he's going to beat his little ass right now. Mysterio was about to give Big Show the shirt, but instead faked him out and tossed it into the crowd, pissing off The Big Show. Big Show went for a clothesline on Rey but Rey ducked it and hammered away on Big Show until Big Show grabbed Rey and launched him into the corner and chopped away on him. Big Show then grabbed Rey Mysterio and launched him to the other side of the ring and then he went for the choke slam.

But Hardcore Holly came out and knocked Big Show into the ropes with a drop kick and then Rey Mysterio gave The Big Show the 619 and Holly called Rey out of the ring and he held Rey's hand up, displaying him to the crowd as the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion! Big Show immediately got up in the ring and he was noticeably pissed off as he was embarrassed and humiliated by Holly and Mysterio.

An angered Big Show was shown in the backstage area and he couldn't hold still and he eventually grabbed some wooden pallets and tossed them around and then grabbed a barrel and threw it down the hallway and destroyed a television monitor. Paul Heyman showed up and tried to calm him down, telling him that he needs a piece of meat to deal with and he wants to give him a match against the man that drop kicked him in the back of the head. Tonight, it's The Big Show one on one with Hardcore Holly. After Heyman stopped speaking, Big Show grabbed another TV monitor and smashed it on the ground and then left.

Bradshaw vs. Rhyno

The music of the APA hit in the arena and Bradshaw made his way out to the ring for a singles contest against Rhyno and this is the third match between the two with both men tied with a win over each other and this is the rubber match, so to speak.

Rhyno and Bradshaw locked it up in the center of the ring and Bradshaw backed Rhyno into the corner and then gave him a knee to the mid section and then some clubbing blows to the back of the head.

Bradshaw gave Rhyno the fall away slam, or the last call as Bradshaw likes to call it. Bradshaw then picked Rhyno up and whipped him off the ropes and knocked him down with a reverse elbow.

Rhyno went to splash Bradshaw in the corner but Bradshaw got out of the way and went off the ropes and knocked Rhyno down and out with the clothesline from hell and then Bradshaw covered him for the three count to pick up the win.

Earlier today, Eddie and Chavo were invited by a local radio station to take part in a low rider parade. 30 low riders were involved and footage of Eddie and Chavo checking things out was shown. Later on tonight, Los Guerreros takes on the World's Greatest Tag Team!

The official theme song for this year's Royal Rumble is done by Puddle of Mudd and is called "Nothing Left to Lose" from their album "Life on Display."

Paul Heyman was shown backstage talking to the camera and he told everyone what an honor and a privilege it was for everybody on Smackdown! to perform in Iraq. Paul bumped into John Cena and Cena said Paul talks about it but Cena was over there supporting their men and women who hold an m-16 everyday putting their lives on the line. It was people like Cena, but where the hell was Paul Heyman, Mr. Smackdown! GM, all that and a bag of chips? Cena told Paul that he ain't nothing but a big, fat coward. Paul said he's been called a lot of things in his life but not a coward. Why? Because Paul is a leader of men. He would lead his Smackdown! troops into battle and fight for his country because he believes in his country and the land of opportunity. Paul talked about the Royal Rumble and how 15 Smackdown! guys will have the opportunity to wrestle for the WWE title. Paul controls that opportunity for 15 guys and so far Cena isn't in the Royal Rumble, but he'll give him the opportunity to be in it because if he wins his match tonight, he'll be in the Royal Rumble. Tonight, John Cena and a partner of his choice vs. all three members of the FBI. The good news is that if he and his partner win, the two of them enter the Royal Rumble and he has plenty of time to find a tag team partner, as a matter a fact, the match is next and on his way to the ring, maybe he'll bump into somebody who wants to take that risk because the risk is that if he and his partner lose, they don't get into the Royal Rumble. Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Handicap Match - The FBI vs. John Cena and Chris Benoit

The FBI made their way out to the ring and this is a Handicap Match with the FBI against John Cena and a partner of his choosing. Cena came out and took the mic and cut a rap and then he started heading to the ring and Chris Benoit's music hit and he made his way out, saying he has nothing to lose. He's sick and tired of Heyman's crap. He'll be Cena's partner tonight and make these bitches tap, word life!

Benoit and Cena got in the ring and went right at it with the three members of the FBI.

Cena went for the FU on Stamboli but Chuck Palumbo got in the ring and broke it up and then he pulled Stamboli onto Cena to pin him for a two count.

John Cena rolled Johnny Stamboli up in a small package pin for a two count and when the two got back to their feet, Stamboli knocked Cena right back down with a hard clothesline.

Chuck Palumbo lifted Chris Benoit onto his shoulders and Benoit got himself down and gave Chuck a series of German suplexes. Benoit then signaled for the flying headbutt and then he went to the top rope for the headbutt and connected with it. Benoit then pinned Stamboli but only got a two count as Nunzio broke up the three count.

Chris Benoit put Johnny Stamboli in the sharpshooter and while the referee was busy with Cena, Palumbo got in the ring and knocked Benoit down and out with a super kick. Stamboli then pinned Benoit but only got a two count.

Stamboli pressed Benoit over his head.

Benoit got himself down and put Stamboli in the Crossface and Palumbo attempted to break it up but Cena interjected and planted Chuck with the FU to eliminate him from the ring as Stamboli tapped out to the Crossface!

Cena and Benoit celebrated their win together and after tonight's win, these two are going to the Royal Rumble and the winner of the Royal Rumble goes to Wrestlemania to face the WWE Champion for the Championship!

Kurt Angle's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring, making his return to WWE Smackdown!. Kurt took the mic and said that your Olympic Hero is back, baby! And after spending a well deserved break away with his family, he has to admit that it's great to be back. After watching Christmas in Baghdad last week on Smackdown!, he felt this enormous sense of pride and this pride brought him out here tonight to say thank you to all the troops who are defending our liberty. The fans heavily chanted "USA, USA" and Angle said that's what he wants to hear! Kurt had the rare opportunity to go overseas to the middle east about three weeks ago and it was an opportunity of a lifetime.

He got to meet the soldiers fighting for our freedom and he has to admit that he was overwhelmed with joy and pride and he was proud to be an American. Kurt met a young soldier about 22 years old and he's been there for about a year and before he left, his wife was 8 months pregnant and after six weeks went by, his wife gave birth to a new born baby, a little baby girl. And there was this girl he was so excited about because every day he was over there, he wanted to live long enough to see his baby girl for the first time. All he wanted was to meet his baby girl and what was tearing him up inside was that each and every day he spent over there, he knew he was missing time with his baby girl. He wasn't able to get to hold her in his arms and to hold and love her and to see her first steps and hear her speak for the first time because he was over there fighting for all of us. He was 10,000 miles away and when he finally gets the chance to come back and see his little baby girl, the one he loves more than anything in the world, she will know him as nothing but a mere acquaintance. This is what the soldiers do, they not only sacrifice their lives but they sacrifice time away from their families. Kurt also has a baby girl and he couldn't even imagine being away from her for a year. But that's what our soldiers do and sometimes, Kurt wishes he could do what they do and that's kick ass for this country! But Kurt isn't a soldier, he's a wrestler. But what he can do is kick ass right here in this very ring. And since this is the New Year, he has a New Year's Resolution. He is going to enter himself into the 2004 Royal Rumble, right now! He's not just going to enter but he's going to throw 29 Superstars over the top rope and win the Royal Rumble for the first time in his career. But he isn't going to do it for himself, he's going to do it for every one of those soldiers fighting for our freedom and he just wants to say this one last time; everyone over there, thank you for what you do and God Bless you.

Non Title Match - Hardcore Holly vs. The Big Show

The Big Show's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the United States Champion for a one on one non title contest against Hardcore Holly and as The Big Show got in the ring, he had an extreme look of anger on his face and he looked ready to unleash on Holly.

Hardcore Holly got in the ring and The Big Show went for a clothesline but Holly ducked it and gave The Big Show a number of hard right hands.

Hardcore Holly went to the top rope and came off with a cross body to knock Big Show down and then pinned him but only got a two count.

Big Show then gave Hardcore Holly a sidewalk slam and then The Big Show pulled down the straps and lifted Hardcore Holly up and gave him a shoulder breaker. Big Show then put Holly in a full nelson in an attempt to reinjure the neck of Hardcore Holly.

But Rey Mysterio came out with a steel chair and came off the top rope but The Big Show punched the steel chair into the face of Mysterio to send him down to the mat.

Hardcore Holly then gave The Big Show a low blow and then he grabbed the steel chair and nailed The Big Show with it to end the match in a disqualification.

Hardcore Holly waited for The Big Show to get back to his feet and then he laid him out once again with the steel chair and stood over him and talked the trash as Big Show was down and out, a bloody mess.

A video package was shown for Billy Gunn and he'll be making his return at the Royal Rumble!

Paul Heyman and Dawn Marie were shown and Dawn was complaining because she didn't get the cover of Smackdown! magazine like he promised.

Someone busted into the room and it was Chris Benoit and Paul told Dawn to take a walk, now. Chris Benoit laughed and Paul said he's proud of himself, isn't he? Benoit said for someone who isn't supposed to be in the Royal Rumble, Paul may be looking at the next winner of the Royal Rumble. In fact, he's looking at the next WWE Champion. Paul asked Chris if that's a fact? Chris said that it is and Paul said it's time for them to have a man to man talk. There is a difference between him and the fans. They're working grunts and Paul is management. Chris Benoit has nothing that differs him from the fans because he's just like everybody else. He's a working grunt for management like Heyman. People like Benoit get stopped in their tracks because of people like Heyman. Paul said Benoit can scratch and claw his way to the top like everybody else out there, but people like Heyman stop people like Benoit. Benoit gives up time with his family to be number one, well Paul is going to make Chris number one. Not the number one guy in the WWE but the first guy to be in the Royal Rumble. 29 other people will be coming after his ass! Benoit grabbed Paul Heyman by the fingers and cowered him down in front of him, telling Paul that he will win the Royal Rumble and he will be the next WWE Champion and Paul will never break his will!

A number of WWE Superstars were shown celebrating with Rey Mysterio's title win with him and Eddie Guerrero told him that the belt looks good on him and now they have to change the name plate. Chavo Guerrero showed up and he was looking on as Eddie Guerrero was talking to Mysterio. Eddie mentioned the Royal Rumble and Chavo pulled Eddie aside, saying he needs to talk to him. Chavo asked Eddie what's going on with him? Did he say he's going to join the Royal Rumble? Eddie said he just said he might put his bid in. Chavo asked Eddie how selfish he can be? This isn't about Eddie all the time, it's about them. They're a tag team and their family goal is to bring home the WWE Tag Team Championship. Chavo told Eddie to forget about the Royal Rumble, they have a match tonight. Chavo asked Eddie if he's focused and Eddie said that he is; he always is. Chavo and Eddie then left together to prepare for their tag team match against the World's Greatest Tag Team.

The World's Greatest Tag Team vs. Los Guerreros

The music of Los Guerreros hit in the arena and Eddie and Chavo made their way out to the ring in a low rider with Chavo driving it and Eddie standing up in the low rider catering to the fans and this is a tag team match with Chavo and Eddie Guerrero against The World's Greatest Tag Team!

Eddie Guerrero started it off in the ring against Shelton Benjamin and the two locked it up and Shelton backed Eddie into the corner and Eddie reversed Shelton in the corner and then kicked away on him.

During the match, Chavo had the opportunity to make the tag to Eddie Guerrero but he refused to make the tag. Eddie finally tagged himself into the match and got in the ring like a house of fire on Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin.

Eddie Guerrero gave Charlie Haas a series of suplexes and then he headed to the top rope but Chavo tagged himself into the match and then he and Eddie argued and Shelton gave Eddie a shot to knock him out of the ring. Chavo then went to the top rope and set Charlie up for the frog splash but Charlie got his knees up into the mid section of Chavo Guerrero.

Shelton Benjamin then got in the ring and knocked Chavo down and out with a super kick and then Charlie Haas pinned him for the three count to pick up the win, even though Eddie attempted to break up the pin.

Eddie and Chavo argued in the ring and Chavo took the mic, saying this is a very public thing so he's going to say it in front of everyone.

Does Eddie know why they lost the match tonight? It was because of Eddie Guerrero! Yeah, Chavo is sick of it. Chavo works just as hard as Eddie in this tag team but night in and night out, are there Chavo chants? No. All he hears every single night is "Eddie, Eddie" and Chavo is sick of it and he is sick of Eddie! Chavo then slapped Eddie in the face and then he stood behind Eddie as Eddie looked emotionally hurt but then the Latino temper looked to be boiling in Eddie. Eddie got ready to fight Chavo but Kurt Angle hit the ring and stopped Eddie from hitting his nephew.

Kurt hugged Eddie, holding him away from Chavo and Chavo got out of the ring and left and then Eddie Guerrero shoved Kurt Angle. Kurt attempted to work as a voice of reason but Eddie was infuriated as Chavo left the ring.

After the commercial break, Eddie and Kurt Angle were shown in the backstage area and Eddie was going nuts about what happened and Kurt tried to tell Eddie to listen and be rational. Kurt told Eddie that he's entering the Royal Rumble because he wants to win it for his country and Eddie wants to enter it because he's selfish. Chavo is his flesh and blood. Eddie asked Kurt who the hell is he to him? Kurt isn't his blood or family so get out of his face. This has nothing to do with him. Kurt pointed out that Chavo is his family and he told Eddie to go look in the mirror and he'll see what the problem is. This may not be popular with Eddie but Chavo is right. Eddie didn't seem to like that one bit and we cut back to the commentators where they explained the situation.

Smackdown Preview January 8th:

Last week, SmackDown! General Manager Paul Heyman was unsuccessful is his attempt to derail Hardcore Holly's quest for revenge on Brock Lesnar, when Holly unleashed a vicious attack on the Big Show with a steel chair. Holly lost the match to Show via disqualification, but he clearly won that evening's war. This week, Heyman is at it again and determined to keep Holly's hands off of the WWE Champion. On SmackDown!, Holly and the Big Show will go at it again, this time in a non-title Street Fight! Will the Big Show gain his own measure of revenge or will Holly live up to his nickname in the most hardcore of matches? Find out on SmackDown!

Also, when SmackDown! ended last week, it appeared as if the growing rift between Los Guerreros had come to a head with Chavo Guerrero slapping Eddie. Only the efforts of Kurt Angle kept these two apart. Will cooler heads prevail or are Los Guerreros on the verge of a breakup? What is Angle's role in the dispute between Los Guerreros? Find out on SmackDown!

Finally, last week on SmackDown!, Chris Benoit, John Cena, and Kurt Angle became the first three SmackDown! Superstars to enter the Royal Rumble on January 25. Is anybody else going to throw their hat into the ring?

Spoiler!
- Kurt Angle gets the Guererros to shake hands.

- Chris wins the Mini Royal Rumble by eliminating all members of the FBI.

- Rey Mysterio defeats Akio in a non-title match.

- Next was supposed to be a cruiserweight match between Tajiri and Jaime Noble to determine the number one contender to Mysterio's title. Noble was nowhere to be found and Paul Heyman said if Noble did not show up that Nidia would have to take his place. She did and lost to Tajiri. After the match, Tajiri started hitting Nidia and Rey Mysterio made the save. As mysterio was helping Nidia down the aisle, Noble showed up and pushed Mysterio down on the ground.

- Brock Lesnar came down to do commentary for the next match, which saw Hardcore Holly defeat the Big Show in a Non-Title Street fight. During the match, Holly attacked Lesnar, which the Big Show broke up. After the match, Holly went after Lesnar again. Lesnar ran through the crowd to end the show.

Smackdown Results January 8th:

Smackdown! opened up with footage of Eddie Guerrero talking about the Royal Rumble, striking some jealousy into his nephew, Chavo. Apparently, Chavo feels that it should be he and Eddie going for the Tag Team Titles instead of Eddie Guerrero participating in the Royal Rumble match in an attempt to earn the right to go to Wrestlemania for the WWE Heavyweight Championship. At the end of the show last week, Kurt Angle stopped Los Guerreros from battling it out on live TV and when Kurt and Eddie went to the backstage area, Kurt Angle told Eddie Guerrero that he believed Chavo was right and that Eddie was the problem.

The fireworks went off in the arena to kick off Smackdown! from Huntsville, Alabama as Michael Cole and Tazz kicked it off on commentary! Tonight, Hardcore Holly and The Big Show look to finish off what they started last week as they face each other in a Street Fight! Also, the WWE Tag Team Titles are on the line tonight!

Kurt Angle's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring and we learned last week that Kurt Angle will be one of the thirty Superstars entered into the Royal Rumble match and the winner of the Royal Rumble match gets a shot at the title in the main event of Wrestlemania! Kurt Angle got in the ring and the fans heavily chanted "USA, USA!" and Angle told the fans that they rule. Last week was supposed to be a perfect beginning to a new year. He makes his big return and he vows that he would win the Royal Rumble for our troops. But something last week left a bitter taste in his mouth. He knows this is none of his business, but he'll be damned if he stands here and lets one of the greatest tag teams of all time self destruct. So Chavo Guerrero, come out to the ring right now so they can settle this thing between he and Eddie right here and right now.

Chavo Guerrero's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring at the request of Kurt Angle. Kurt told Chavo that he knows he said last week that it was Eddie's fault, but don't you think you crossed the line just a little bit when you slapped Eddie? Kurt told Chavo to think about that and he asked him if he wants to do the right thing for his family and put this all behind him? The fans chanted "Eddie, Eddie!" and Kurt said to hold on. After the fans stopped chanting, Kurt said what he's saying is doesn't he think he owes Eddie a public apology? Chavo took the mic, saying Kurt wants him to apologize, to Eddie? What for?

For trying to hold his family together? Does Kurt want him to apologize for loving his uncle Eddie? Because that's exactly what he did last week. He showed Eddie tough love. They don't call it tough love because it's easy. So Kurt asks him if he'll apologize to his uncle Eddie. Well no sir, he will not! In fact, if Eddie was in this ring right now, he'd slap him in the face even harder! Just like he's thinking about slapping Chavo. Kurt Angle stood in front of Chavo, showing no fear and he grabbed the microphone and said that he didn't ask Chavo to come out here for a fight. He asked him to come out here for an opportunity, an opportunity to do the right thing.

Eddie Guerrero's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring to a tremendous ovation from the fans in attendance. Eddie got in the ring and went after Chavo and Chavo bailed out of the ring and Kurt Angle grabbed onto Eddie Guerrero to hold him back. Kurt told Eddie to listen to him. They can beat the hell out of each other all they want but Kurt has a few things to say, then he can do whatever he wants. Kurt told Eddie that that's his nephew. Look at Chavo, he's his uncle and they're supposed to love each other. They're tearing the family apart. Kurt told Chavo that if he's got the cajones, he wants Chavo to get in the ring right now and face his uncle eye to eye. Chavo got in the ring and Eddie got ready to fight him but Kurt told them to listen to what he has to say. Kurt told them that they're tearing their family apart, the greatest family in the history of this sport. Come on, Kurt knows Eddie doesn't want this and he knows Chavo doesn't want this either. He's going to ask them one question, just one question. He wants to know right here and right now who's going to be the better man. That's right, the better man and extend their hand out right now and make amends? Chavo extended his hand to Eddie and Eddie just looked at it and took a step back.

Kurt tried to convince Eddie to shake his hand and the fans chanted "Eddie, Eddie!" Kurt told Eddie to do the right thing because this is his nephew. Eddie looked at Chavo with a look of anger and Kurt told Eddie that he wants him to look deep inside himself and look at Chavo and think about this. Who was the one person when Eddie was down and out and his world turned upside down, who was the one person that cared enough to be there for him? Eddie told Kurt not to go there but Kurt said that he has to. That's family. Kurt wanted Eddie to reach inside himself and do the right thing. This is his family and Kurt told him not to break the family tradition. Kurt continued to tell Eddie to do the right thing while Chavo held his hand out and Eddie shook it and then Kurt Angle got in between them and held both their hands u pin the air, staying between them incase tempers started flaring.

Kurt Angle let go and stepped back and Eddie and Chavo took a few looks at each other and then Eddie left the ring with Chavo remaining in the ring.

Josh Matthews was shown standing by with The Big Show and tonight, he meets Hardcore Holly in a one on one Street Fight. Josh asked Big Show why he would ask for the match tonight to be a Street Fight? Big Show said that Josh doesn't get it. He holds the mic but he still doesn't get it. Last week, Holly split Big Show's head opened with this very chair. He made him bleed. That's why Big Show went to Paul Heyman and asked him to please make his match with Hardcore Holly a Street Fight. That way, he can use this chair and anything he wants to because tonight, The Big Show is taking Hardcore Holly out.

Mini Royal Rumble Match - Chris Benoit vs. Johnny Stamboli vs. Chuck Palumbo vs. Nunzio

Chris Benoit's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring and he's set for a singles contest. Paul Heyman's music hit and Chris Benoit looked confused as if Heyman were his opponent. Paul said he supposes Benoit is very proud of himself. Last week, he truly pulled one over on Heyman and he got himself into the Royal Rumble. (Heyman's finger looked to be broken.) Paul said but Benoit got himself into the Royal Rumble as the number one entrant. So tonight, he decided they're going to have a mini Royal Rumble and three of his associates have volunteered for this and they are the FBI and their object is to throw Benoit over the top rope to send him crashing down to the floor. Here's how it works. We start with Chris Benoit in the ring with one member of the FBI and if he survives that two minute period, then the buzzer rings and down to the ring comes the second member of the FBI and if he survives that two minute period and if the buzzer rings, just like at the Royal Rumble and down comes the third and final member of the FBI. To be honest, there is a difference between tonight and the Rumble because at the Rumble, it's every man for himself but tonight on Paul Heyman's Smackdown!, it's every man for Chris Benoit!

Johnny Stamboli came out to the ring and Chris Benoit attacked him as he got in the ring and gave him some right hands and then a snap suplex as the counter was shown on the TV, counting down to the next entrant into the Mini-Royal Rumble Match!

Chris Benoit pulled Johnny Stamboli down to the mat by the legs and put him in the sharpshooter and Johnny tapped out but submissions don't matter here. The buzzer went off and Chuck Palumbo stormed to the ring and went right at it with Benoit.

Chris Benoit put Chuck Palumbo in the Crippler Crossface and held onto it for an extended period of time while Palumbo tapped out and then Nunzio came out to the ring after the buzzer went off.

Stamboli was eliminated from the match by Chris Benoit.

Nunzio got in the ring and Chris Benoit scared him off and then knocked him into the corner.

Palumbo and Nunzio then double teamed Chris Benoit. Benoit went to throw Chuck Palumbo out of the ring but Nunzio stopped him and then Chris Benoit dumped Nunzio out of the ring, leaving him in the ring alone with Chuck Palumbo.

Chuck Palumbo gave Chris Benoit a Samoan drop and then he went for the jungle kick but Benoit avoided it and then dumped Chuck Palumbo out of the ring to win the match!

Chris Benoit celebrated his win as Paul Heyman was noticeably upset from the Smackdown! staging area.

Tag Team Championship Match - Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty vs. The Basham Brothers

Rikishi's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring along with Scotty 2 Hotty and they are up against the Basham Brothers in a tag team match and Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty have a huge opportunity tonight as they face the Bashams for the Tag Team Titles!

Doug and Danny came through the crowd and attacked Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty from behind and dominated them with kicks and stomps down on the mat and in the corner.

Doug and Danny Basham knocked Rikishi down to the mat with the ball and gag and then they grabbed the Tag Team Titles as if they just retained the titles. Danny laid Scotty out with the Tag Team Title belt and then Doug did the same with the other belt on Rikishi.

Doug and Danny stood tall in the ring, displaying dominance over Scotty and Rikishi and then Kurt Angle's music hit in the arena and he made his way out.

Tag Team Championship Match - Los Guerreros vs. the Basham Brothers

Kurt said to hold on a second. He guesses hell has officially frozen over because he just left Paul Heyman's office and they have come up with an agreement. When you advertise a Tag Team Title Match, you should actually have one. And since they made sure Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty were out of the picture, Kurt and Heyman have come up with a suitable replacement. Up next will be the Basham Brothers with the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against their opponents, Los Guerreros!

The Bashams and Shaniqua remained in the ring throughout the commercial break and they were none too pleased about Angle's announcement. The music of Los Guerreros then hit in the arena and they made their way out to the ring in the low rider and the Tag Team Titles are on the line in this match!

Eddie Guerrero started it off in the ring against Danny Basham and the two locked it up in the center of the ring and Danny put Eddie in a side headlock and Eddie whipped Danny off the ropes but Danny came back with a hard shoulder block to knock Guerrero down to the mat.

Eddie Guerrero choked Doug Basham with the tag rope and then he "tagged" in Chavo Guerrero behind the referee's back. As the referee checked to see if Eddie made the tag (which he didn't) Chavo choked Doug with the tag rope much like Eddie did a few moments earlier.

Eddie Guerrero went for the frog splash on Doug Basham but Danny rolled his brother out of the ring to make the save. Eddie and Chavo then dragged Doug back into the ring and went back on the attack on Doug.

During the match, the fans chanted "Chavo, Chavo" as he was on the ring apron, attempting to pump Eddie up for a tag. Behind the referee's back, Shaniqua choked Eddie Guerrero over the ropes and then Danny Basham rolled Eddie up for a two count.

The Bashams went for the ball and gag on Chavo but Eddie pulled Danny out of the ring and then Eddie got in the ring and he and Chavo knocked Doug out of the ring with a double team. Eddie and Chavo then jumped over the top rope on opposite sides of the ring on Doug and Danny to knock them down to the mat.

Chavo went for a sunset flip on Chavo Guerrero but Doug sat down and leaned forward and Shaniqua grabbed Doug's hands to enable him to pin Chavo for the three count.

The Basham Brothers beat up on Eddie and Chavo and as the Bashams dominated Eddie in the ring, Chavo went to grab a chair on the outside of the ring but decided against it and sat down and watched the Bashams dominate his uncle Eddie. Doug and Danny both grabbed a leg of Eddie Guerrero, putting him in a double half crab as Chavo remained on the outside of the ring and looked on.

The fans started chanting "Chavo sucks" as Eddie Guerrero screamed in pain.

Shaniqua then handed the Tag Team Titles to the Basham Brothers and the three left the ring together as Chavo remained in the chair at ringside. After the Bashams were gone, Chavo stood up and you could hear the fans booing Chavo Guerrero and chanting "Eddie, Eddie!" Chavo finally got in the ring and Eddie used the ropes in an attempt to get to his feet but he fell right back down to the mat as Chavo hovered over his uncle.

Eddie used Chavo to get to his feet and Chavo laid into Eddie Guerrero with a devastating right hand to a chorus of boos. Chavo then mounted Eddie and gave him a number of hard right hands and the fans continued to boo him out of the arena as Eddie Guerrero was noticeably busted opened at the hands of his nephew.

With Eddie busted opened, Chavo mounted Eddie again and slammed his head into the mat and then he gave him another hard right hand and then looked at the blood of his uncle on his hands. Chavo continued to look at the blood on his hands and then he finally walked half way out of the ring and the fans were all over Chavo for his actions. Chavo got back in the ring and gave Eddie a stiff kick right to the head and then he decided that it was finally time to leave the ring. Chavo then walked past the low rider and then decided to turn around and get in it and leave the arena as WWE officials came out to the ring and attended to Eddie Guerrero.

Chavo took the low rider and left the arena with it, a pissed off man.

A-Train vs. John Cena

A-Train's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for a one on one contest against John Cena! John Cena brought a mic out to the ring with him and he worked the mic on the way to the ring and the fans were well behind John Cena.

Cena and A-Train locked it up and A-Train shoved Cena down to the mat and Cena quickly got up and the two locked it up and A-Train backed Cena into the corner and went for a clubbing blow but Cena ducked it and gave A-Train some right hands.

Early in the match, John Cena went for the FU on A-Train but A-Train was able to get out of it.

John Cena later planted A-Train with the FU and then pinned him for the three count to pick up the win over A-Train.

Eddie Guerrero was shown being worked on backstage and he was cut up pretty bad. Kurt Angle showed up and he told Eddie that he doesn't know what to say but he somehow feels responsible for this. Kurt said he can't believe what Chavo did and he can't believe he misjudged him like that. He should have never stuck his nose in his family's business. Eddie was VERY shaken up and Kurt said truth be told, he should have never stopped him from tearing Chavo apart in the first place. What he's trying to say is he's sorry. Eddie was literally shaking and in tears and Kurt Angle left Eddie Guerrero alone with the trainers.

Non Title Match - Akio vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio made his way to the ring as the Cruiserweight Champion and earlier today, Michael Cole had the chance to talk to Rey Mysterio and he told Cole that it meant to much to him to recapture the Gold.

Akio stormed to the ring and went right at it with rey Mysterio in some fast Cruiserweight action to start it off!

Rey Mysterio got Akio and Sakoda against the ropes and he hit them both with a double 619 and then he hit Akio with the West Coast Pop to pick up the win in a fast paced Cruiserweight match!

Sakoda got in the ring and he went after Rey Mysterio but Rey bailed out of the ring and the referee held his arm up in the air, declaring him the winner.

A promo was shown for Billy Gunn and he was thanking the fans for the response he got on his video highlight package. Billy has had a hell of a career with many great moments and that's why he is going to bring to us his top three moments that made him the WWE Superstar he is. At number three on the countdown, Billy and Bart Gunn battle the 123 Kid and Sparky Plug for the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1995! What an unbelievable feeling it was when he won the Tag Team Titles for the first time but hold on, there's next week when he brings us number two in the Billy Gunn Countdown!

Josh Matthews was shown with Hardcore Holly and he asked him about tonight's match. Holly said if it's a street fight he wants, then it's a street fight he's going to get. He may be the United States Champion but he's not that smart because Josh knows as well as Holly does that you don't play somebody else's game and a street fight is right up Holly's ally. And you don't play his game in his own backyard of Huntsville. So tonight, Big Show is going to find out what an Alabama ass whipping is all about.

Nidia and a security guard were shown and the security guard gave her the phone to call Noble. Nidia said she's worried about Noble because he's been gone for a long time and his match is coming soon. Paul Heyman showed up and send the guard on his way. Paul told Nidia that he's not doing too good. Jamie's in a match against Tajiri next and he can't find him anywhere. Nidia said that he'll be right in, she just talked to him. Paul said business is business and if Jamie doesn't show up in time, he has to name a suitable replacement. Nidia promised that he'd be in, just give him a little more time. Paul said that the match is next and the suitable replacement in the match against Tajiri will be Nidia! Heyman left and Nidia looked shocked.

Number One Contendership Match - Tajiri vs. Nidia

Tajiri's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for a number one Contendership match for the Cruiserweight Championship to determine who will face Rey Mysterio at the Royal Rumble and he's scheduled to face Jamie Noble but if he doesn't arrive to the building in time, Nidia will be forced into this match. Jamie Noble's music hit and no one came out and then Paul Heyman lead Nidia out to the ring and Tajiri didn't look too happy to see his opponent for the night. Paul told Nidia that if she doesn't go through with this, she's fired. Paul then took Nidia's cane away from her , telling her no weapons in his matches!

Tajiri then stalked Nidia and pulled her down to the mat and then she crawled around the ring and Tajiri put Nidia in a waist lock into a take down.

Tajiri grabbed Nidia and gave her a Russian leg sweep and then a pin for the three count to pick up the easy win.

Tajiri set up to kick Nidia in the head but Rey Mysterio hit the ring to stop him from doing so. Tajiri ran to the back and Rey Mysterio helped Nidia up and he tried to explain to her that everything is OK. Rey Mysterio and referee Mike Sparks helped Nidia out of the ring and Jamie Noble finally came out and pushed Rey Mysterio aside and attended to Nidia, apologizing.

Noble then knocked Rey Mysterio down on his ass and left with Nidia.

Street Fight - Hardcore Holly vs. The Big Show

Brock Lesnar's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the WWE Heavyweight Champion and this match is supposed to be The Big Show against Hardcore Holly in a Street Fight! Brock Lesnar sat down with Cole and Tazz, saying that he wanted a front row seat for this match and anything goes in this match but the pinfall must take place inside the ring.

The Big Show filled the ring with weapons and then he waited at ringside with a steel chair in his hand. Hardcore Holly came out to the ring and whaled away on The Big Show with a number of right hands and kicks, avoiding a chair shot by Big Show.

As the match was going on, Hardcore Holly went over to Brock Lesnar and jumped on him and gave him a number of right hands until The Big Show pulled Holly off of Brock, driving him into the steel post.

Hardcore Holly nailed The Big Show with a trash can two times and then he hit him a third time to knock him down to the mat. Holly then pinned Big Show but only got a two count.

Big Show grabbed Holly by the throat and Holly sprayed something into Big Show's eyes to break it up and then Holly nailed Big Show in the back two times with a steel chair and then he put the steel chair on Big Show's head and wrapped it around his neck and choked him with it.

Big Show tapped out and Hardcore Holly picked up the win by submission!

Holly remained in the ring and Brock stood up and held his belt up to taunt Holly and Holly went after Brock but Brock bailed out through the crowd. Hardcore Holly then picked up the steel chair and held it high over his head as the fans cheered Holly with the show going off the air.

Wow. This thread is pretty dead. Either Smackdown! is producing a completely inferior show or there aren't enough people with UPN (or maybe it's both).

Anyway, it still hasn't completely sunk in for me yet that Bob Holly is wrestling for the WWE Title. I never saw that coming. Hopefully the match will be good, but I feel a little skeptical about it. I just hope I'm wrong.

The brightest side of Smackdown! is the Guerrero feud. I am completely sucked into the story with Chavo and Eddie. I can't wait to find out what happens next. It's been a while since I felt that way about anything on Smackdown!

Smackdown Preview January 15th:

Kurt Angle is a man of principle. He wears the red, white and blue every time he takes the ring, he will represent America’s soldiers when he competes at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 25, and when he saw Eddie & Chavo Guerrero engaged in a family squabble, he stepped in as an intermediary on behalf of the institution of family. Last week on SmackDown!, despite the best of intentions, Angle’s efforts failed as Chavo Guerrero not only turned his back on his Uncle Eddie but stabbed him in the back as well. After sitting and observing an attack on Eddie by the Basham Brothers, Chavo helped his Uncle to his feet only to knock him down once again and unleash a vicious assault on his own flesh and blood … and then left the arena on Eddie’s low rider!

The last time Eddie was seen on SmackDown!, he was seething. When SmackDown! hits the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, a lot of questions could be answered: What’s next for Eddie? Will he seek revenge or reconciliation? How will Angle’s role in the situation involving Los Guerreros affect his friendship with Eddie? And what will Chavo have to say? Tune into SmackDown! and see if this situation is cleared up at all.

In action on SmackDown!, one week after the Basham Brothers rendered Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty unable to compete for the WWE Tag Team Championship thanks to a brutal pre-match assault, Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty will have their chance at revenge. The two teams will meet for the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown!

Also, Paul Heyman is not going to be in a good mood on SmackDown! next week. His plans to derail Hardcore Holly’s attempts to gain revenge on Brock Lesnar and to destroy Chris Benoit have backfired for two straight weeks, and with less than two weeks to go until the Royal Rumble, Heyman is running out of options. With his back getting closer and closer to the wall, what will Heyman do? Find out on SmackDown!

Smackdown Spoilers January 15th:

Spoiler!
- Heyman announces there will be matches tonight where the winner enters the Rumble. Cena interrupts with a rap. As he lifts Paul up for the FU, Rhyno makes the save and gores Cena.

- Jamie Noble beat Tajiri to earn a shot at the cruiserweight title at the Rumble.

- Heyman announces a "Loser Gets His Mouth Washed Out With Soap Match". It will be Cena vs. Rhyno. But if Rhyno loses Heyman gets his mouth washed out with soap.

- Rikishi defeats his tam partner Scotty to enter the Rumble.

- Bashams come out to defend tag belts against Haas and Benjamin. Tazz stands up at the announcers’ desk and says Heyman just told him in his headset that this isn't a title match but a Rumble qualifying match. Haas pins Doug Basham to advance to the Rumble.

- Chavo Sr. and Chavo Jr. attack Eddie from behind during a ring segment. They double-team until Angle makes the save.

- The FBI comes out to the ring. Dawn Marie comes back out and says that Paul Heyman has ordered a 3-man battle royal between them to determine a spot for the Rumble. After a few minutes of action, Chuck Palumbo kicks Stamboli off the apron and Nunzio then pushes Chuck over the top rope. Nunzio goes to the Rumble.

- Big Show beat Funaki.

- Cena beat Rhyno. Before the match Heyman told the ref that any minor infraction by Cena would result in him being disqualified. But Rhyno will work under ECW rules. Match was good but Rhyno ended up missing a gore in the corner and crashing into a table. Cena hit the FU for the win. Paul tried to escape up the ramp but Chris Benoit's music played and he dragged Paul back. He locked him in the sharpshooter and Cena badgered Paul and made him lick and eat the soap. Any time Paul would refuse, Cena said, "CHRIS" and Benoit would put on more pressure.

Smackdown Results January 15th:

The fireworks went off in the arena and Michael Cole and Tazz kicked it off on commentary and tonight, titles are on the line when the Bashams defend the Tag Team Titles against Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty!

Paul Heyman came out to the ring and he took the mic and said that tonight, Paul Heyman's Smackdown! emanates from the gambling capital of the east coast, the Mohegan Sun Casino. Like any of the fans were actually born here. It's very fitting that they are there because we are less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble. And the Royal Rumble match is the ultimate gamble because 29 men will crap out and only one man will hit the jackpot and go on to the ultimate prize, the ultimate blackjack, a title shot at Wrestlemania XX. Paul can only allow 15 of his Smackdown! Superstars the opportunity of entering the Royal Rumble so tonight, in this very ring, he has arranged for some very special matches in which the winners go on to enter the Royal Rumble match and the losers bust out. Now if you don't mind...

John Cena's music hit in the arena to interrupt Paul Heyman on the mic and he made his way out to the ring as someone who is already in the Royal Rumble match when he outsmarted Paul Heyman not too long ago. Paul angrily told Cena that he doesn't interrupt him. Does he think Paul sweats him? Cena mocked and pissed off the Smackdown! General Manager, saying he's sick of hearing his voice. Cena told Heyman that he sucks and Heyman got ticked off. Cena told Paul that he doesn't need his approval; he's going to take his respect and bounce him quicker than an ECW check. Heyman started ranting but Cena told him that he talks a big game but he's standing in his playpen.

Cena asked the fans if they want to see him beat the living hell out of Paul Heyman? The crowd roared and Cena said there ain't no way he can pass after hearing the crowd. It's time to put this mic down so he can kick his ass! Cena grabbed Paul Heyman by the jacket and then he lifted him up on his shoulders for the FU but Rhyno came out of nowhere and attacked John Cena from behind. Rhyno stomped away on Cena as he was down on the mat and then he gave him a belly to belly suplex and then set up for the Gore and nailed Cena with it.

Heyman then took the mic and yelled "Gore, Gore, Gore!" Heyman told Cena that his luck just ran out and he doesn't have to gamble on this because tonight will be a night that Heyman makes sure Cena never forgets!

Number One Contendership Match - Jamie Noble vs. Tajiri

Rey Mysterio's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the WWE Cruiserweight Champion and he sat down with Michael Cole and Tazz for a bit of commentary during this next contest that will feature Tajiri against Jamie Noble in a one on one match and the winner gets a Cruiserweight Championship Match at the Royal Rumble. The blinded Nidia came out to the ring with Jamie Noble to stand in his corner in support of the former Cruiserweight Champion.

Jamie Noble put Tajiri in a reverse waist lock and Tajiri countered it into a waist lock of his own and Noble grabbed Tajiri by the arm and wrenched away on it and then Tajiri backed Jamie Noble into the corner to get the referee to break the two up.

Tajiri went to the top rope and came off with a double ax handle but Jamie Noble caught him with a drop kick on the way down.

Akio came out to the ring and grabbed Nidia and Noble got out of the ring to go to her rescue and Sakoda came out from the other side of the ring and Rey Mysterio knocked him down and when Jamie Noble turned around, he thought Mysterio was attacking her so he took him out.

Tajiri jumped over the top rope with a cross body and Jamie Noble pulled Nidia in the way and Tajiri landed on her.

Then Jamie Noble brought Tajiri back into the ring and gave him the Tiger Bomb to pin him for the three count and earn the right to go to the Royal Rumble to face Rey Mysterio for the Cruiserweight Title!

Jamie Noble got out of the ring and attended to Nidia as she was down and out on the ground and he explained to her that it was Tajiri's doing.

In the arena, Paul Heyman came out and he said that he told John Cena that tonight is going to be a night that he will never forget. You see, he thinks he speaks for the majority of his audience when he says they are all sick of his foul mouth. Does it make him feel good knowing that every time he busts a rhyme that he is corrupting the youth of America and people like him are an even bigger threat to the United States than anything they faced overseas? Paul has taken it upon himself to do something about John Cena because tonight in that very ring it will be John Cena vs. Rhyno and if Rhyno beats John Cena, Paul Heyman will wash John Cena's mouth out with this bar of soap! But he's a gambling man and he wants to give John something to fight for. So if John Cena wins tonight and he won't, but if he wins tonight, it won't be Rhyno's mouth that gets washed out with this bar of soap, it will be Paul Heyman's mouth that gets washed with this bar of soap because tonight on Paul Heyman's Smackdown!, it's the very first ever loser gets his mouth washed out with soap match!

The Big Show was shown backstage with a neck brace and a number of police officers and Josh asked him about it. Big Show started to speak and Brock showed up, saying last week Big Show was brutally attacked by Hardcore Holly. Holly is running around like a loose cannon. Big Show said that this is why he has the police officers around him, because of a restraining order. If Holly gets within 50 feet of him, he gets arrested. Brock added that he'll be standing by Big Show's side all night long. As much as he wants to get his hands on Hardcore Holly, he's going to save it for the Royal Rumble but if Holly gets within 50 feet of Big Show, he's going to have a lot more to worry about than these officers; he's going to have to worry about Brock Lesnar.

A video package was shown, highlighting what went down between Eddie and Chavo Guerrero last week on Smackdown!.

Kurt Angle was shown walking through the backstage area and he walked into the Smackdown! locker room where he found Eddie Guerrero. Kurt grabbed a chair and sat down with Eddie and asked him how he's doing? Kurt said he knows he apologized for getting involved in his family's business, but he was only trying to help. He came here tonight to tell Eddie that Chavo won't be attending Smackdown! tonight. He was told that there is going to be another Guerrero family member that will be attending that will apologize for Chavo's actions. He was told that this family member was Eddie's brother, Chavo's dad, Chavo, Sr. Kurt has some great news, though. He overheard Paul Heyman talking about a scheduled match at the Royal Rumble and this is what Eddie Guerrero wants. He was told that this match is a one on one match with Eddie vs. Chavo at the Royal Rumble. He understands that because he's in this match that neither of them will be able to be in the Royal Rumble but this is what everyone wants. Eddie asked Kurt how does he know what Eddie wants? He thinks he wants to get a hold of his nephew and rip his head off? No, that's not what he wants. Who's going to stop him if he does something like that? Eddie said he's not going to do that. He's not going to beat up his own blood. You don't get it. If he does that to his nephew, it would be like ripping a piece out of himself. You know what he wants? Eddie wants Kurt to get out of his business. Eddie told Kurt to respect him and the two stood face to face as the show went to a commercial break.

Rikishi vs. Scotty 2 Hotty

Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty made their way out to the ring, scheduled for a tag team match against the Basham Brothers for the Tag Team Titles! As Scotty and Rikishi were in the ring waiting for the Bashams, Dawn Marie came out and said that Paul Heyman sent her out tonight to tell Scotty and Rikishi that they're not going to be competing for the Tag Team Titles. However, they will be competing for the chance to enter the Royal Rumble match. Your opponents? Each other and the match starts now.

Neither Rikishi or Scotty 2 Hotty looked too pleased with that decision but went on with the match, locking it up in the center of the ring.

Scotty put Rikishi in a side headlock and Rikishi whipped Scotty off the ropes and Rikishi went for a hip toss but Scotty blocked it and went for a hip toss of his own but couldn't get the big man up.

Rikishi knocked Scotty 2 Hotty down to the mat and then he gave him the banzai drop to pin him for the three count to get into the Royal Rumble match!

Rikishi got out of the ring and left as Scotty 2 Hotty remained laying in the ring in pain.

Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs. The Basham Brothers

The music of the Basham Brothers hit in the arena and they made their way out to the ring accompanied by Shaniqua for a Tag Team Title match against Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin! Tazz got up out of his seat and he took a mic and said he's getting some information out of his headset and that this is big news; this match is not and he repeats not for the WWE Tag Team Championship but whichever team wins this match up will advance into the Royal Rumble match itself!

Danny Basham started the match off in the ring against Charlie Haas and the two locked it up and Danny put Charlie in a side headlock and Charlie whipped Danny off the ropes and Danny came back with a shoulder block to knock Charlie down to the mat.

Shelton Benjamin hit Doug Basham with the super kick and then Charlie Haas rolled him up for the three count to pick up the win and advance to the Royal Rumble.

Kurt Angle was shown backstage and a producer told him that Chavo Guerrero's father got here and he just pulled up. Kurt said that this will be good for Eddie and he thanked the producer.

In the arena, Chavo Guerrero's father was introduced to the ring, Chavo Guerrero, Sr. Chavo's father made his way out to the ring and he took the mic and he said he doesn't blame the fans for booing him, especially with what is going on right now with the Guerrero family. Chavo is his son and Eddie is his brother and believe him, the whole family is torn with the situation that is going on.

Needless to say, he is here tonight to say that he is very ashamed of his son and he is here to tell Eddie Guerrero, his brother and apologize for his son and the only way he can do that is to call for Eddie Guerrero to come to the ring. Eddie Guerrero's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring. Chavo, Sr. held the ropes opened for Eddie Guerrero as Eddie got in the ring. Eddie asked Chavo, Sr. a question, asking if Chavo, Jr. sent him out here? Chavo, Sr. said that he is out here on his own. This has nothing to do with Chavo. He is here on his own to apologize on his behalf. Eddie said basically, he's out here playing daddy and big brother? Eddie is supposed to feel that everything is going to be all right between Eddie and his son because he's out here giving an apology on his behalf? Eddie said he's sorry, sometimes his temper gets the best of him. His anger is not towards Chavo, Sr. It's towards his son and in saying that, he's going to ask him one question. Did he raise his son like this? Chavo nodded no and Eddie asked if he raised his son to turn his back on his family when the rough gets tough? Chavo nodded no and Eddie said that he believes him. He knows he didn't raise his son to be like that, which is why he doesn't understand why Chavo, Sr. is out here apologizing to Eddie instead of Chavito. Chavo, Sr. said that Eddie is right. His son should be here, doing what he taught him. He raised him to be a man and apologize for his mistakes. His son should be here. The Chavo Guerrero music started playing in the arena and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. appeared at the staging area and he seemed almost afraid to come to the ring and he stood at ringside and Chavo, Sr. attacked Eddie from behind and Chavo, Jr. got in the ring and he and his father double teamed and dominated Eddie Guerrero.

Chavo, Sr. held Eddie by the arms and Chavo, Jr. said that if he thinks he's going to apologize for all that he's done he can think again.

Chavo, Jr. then started nailing Eddie Guerrero in the head with some hard right hands as his father held onto Eddie's arms, stopping him from going anywhere.

Kurt Angle eventually stormed to the ring and both Chavo, Jr. and Sr. bailed out of the ring as Angle attended to Guerrero.

Chavo, Sr. and Jr. left the arena together and you heard Chavo, Jr. telling his father that Eddie got everything he deserved.

Battle Royal Match - Johnny Stamboli vs. Chuck Palumbo vs. Nunzio

Nunzio, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli made their way out to the ring, set for a six man tag team match. Dawn Marie's music hit and she made her way out and she said that if she remembers correctly, the FBI like to gamble.

So what are the odds that Paul Heyman is going to fulfill his promise and grant each of them an entry into the Royal Rumble match? Since they lost the match last week, their odds went from 3 to 1. That means there will only be one member of the FBI to enter the Royal Rumble match. That's right, they're going to have to fight for it. The three of them will face each other in a battle royal. The winner will throw the other over the top rope with their feet hitting the floor. Let the battle royal begin!

The three members of the FBI argued and Nunzio told Palumbo and Stamboli that they're going out of the ring and Nunzio is the winner.

Palumbo and Stamboli refused to get out of the ring and Nunzio and Nunzio got in the face of Palumbo, telling him to get out.

Palumbo started to get out of the ring and when Nunzio turned his back, Palumbo came back into the ring and nailed Nunzio with a hard right hand to knock him out and then Palumbo and Stamboli went at it.

Johnny Stamboli went to suplex Nunzio out of the ring but Nunzio blocked it and Palumbo went to super kick Nunzio but he hit Stamboli to knock him off the ring apron and then Nunzio dumped Palumbo out of the ring to pick up the win.

Chuck Palumbo got in the ring and unhappy camper and Nunzio tried to sweet talk him, saying that he's going to win the Royal Rumble for the three of them. Palumbo and Nunzio hugged and then Palumbo shoved Nunzio back and he and Stamboli left the ring together and Nunzio was still pleased because he's in the Royal Rumble.

Eddie Guerrero went into Kurt Angle's locker room and he was extremely pissed off. Kurt said that he had nothing to do with that. He didn't know Chavo and his dad were going to set Eddie up like that. Kurt doesn't want to fight Eddie, so don't go there. Eddie smiled, saying he doesn't want to fight Kurt either. He wants to thank him because he made him see the light. Eddie wants to see himself kick Chavito's ass too, holmes! Eddie Guerrero then left the room, pumped up for his match at the Royal Rumble.

Funaki vs. The Big Show

Funaki's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for the final qualifying match of the night to determine who will get into the Royal Rumble match and The Big Show's music hit and he made his way out with his security guards and Brock Lesnar and this is a one on one match with The Big Show against Funaki and the winner of this match will earn the right to wrestle in the Royal Rumble match at the PPV!

The Big Show got in the ring wearing his neck brace and he went right to work on Funaki, shoving him into the corner and then slapping him across the chest.

Hardcore Holly appeared on the staging area and he caught Big Show's attention and Funaki jumped on Big Show and choked away on him, trying to wear his neck down.

The Big Show knocked Funaki down and out with a hard right hand and then he pinned him for the three count to get the win.

Brock Lesnar got in the ring and raised the hand of The Big Show in victory and Brock talked trash with Hardcore Holly from the ring as Holly remained at the staging area.

Rhyno was shown backstage and Paul Heyman told him that he wants him to understand what's at stake tonight. Because this match isn't just John Cena vs. Rhyno, it's so much more. See, on one side of the ring there's John Cena and with his rap and anti authority and on the other side, there's Heyman's hand picked enforcer. That's the man that's going to protect the moral fiber of the United States of America. It's his patriotic duty to allow Paul Heyman to wash Cena's filthy mouth out with soap. Paul understands that Rhyno has been held back on Smackdown! but that's because of the rules and regulations put on him by the Stephanie McMahon administration. But tonight, Paul wants to witness the resurrection of the real Rhyno. That's Paul Heyman's Rhyno and the resurrection of the extreme Rhyno!

Billy Gunn brought us into week two of the Best of Billy Gunn countdown. This week, we're at the second greatest moment. He remembers like it was yesterday, the crowning achievement of his career. They showed footage of the match at hand and it was Billy Gunn being crowned the 1999 King of the Ring. As usual for Billy, it's as easy as one, two, three. He was the best man that night and that victory was symbolic of his career. Success, success and more success. Next week, he brings us the number one moment of his career.

Rhyno vs. John Cena

Rhyno's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring with Paul Heyman and this is the first ever loser wash your mouth out with soap match with Rhyno against John Cena and if John Cena loses this match, his mouth will be washed out with soap. Paul took the mic to make a public statement and make one thing perfectly clear. He and Rhyno have zero tolerance for John Cena and his hip hop lifestyle. Cena's parents should have had zero tolerance for Cena as a youth and Brian Hebner will have zero tolerance of John Cena's actions tonight. At the slightest provocation of John Cena in this match, he wants the referee to disqualify him so Paul Heyman can personally wash his mouth out with soap. Paul said that in the Mohegan Sun, the odds are always on the side of the house so tonight, there is no count out or disqualification for Rhyno. While John Cena will get no tolerance from the referee, tonight, Rhyno will compete under the rules of ECW!

John Cena got in the ring and Rhyno attacked him right as he got in the ring with a number of right hands and stomps.

John Cena knocked Rhyno down and Rhyno rolled out of the ring to get a rest and because he can't be counted out, he took his time on the outside of the ring. John Cena eventually got out of the ring and brought Rhyno back into the ring.

Rhyno went under the ring for a weapon and he pulled out a kendo stick, a weapon used in ECW a lot and he brought it into the ring and whaled away on John Cena with it. Rhyno later went under the ring again and he pulled out a steel chair and smashed it across the back of John Cena, ECW style.

John Cena battled back on Rhyno and he lifted Rhyno up for the FU but Paul Heyman got into the ring and gave John Cena a low blow to knock him down to the mat in pain.

Rhyno went for the Gore but Cena moved out of the way and then Rhyno put on the brakes.

Rhyno then nailed Cena in the back to knock him to the outside of the ring.

Rhyno pulled a table out from under the ring and then he slid it into the ring as the show went to a commercial break.

With the table laying on the mat, Rhyno slammed Cena onto it and then he went to the top rope and came off with a big splash but John Cena rolled out of the way and Rhyno landed on the table he brought into the ring.

Rhyno set up the table in the corner and he later went for the Gore but Cena side stepped it and shoved Rhyno through the table. Heyman popped up to the ring apron calling for a DQ but Cena knocked him down from the apron with a hard right hand.

John Cena then planted Rhyno with the FU and then the pin for the three count to pick up the win!

Paul Heyman quickly left the ringside area and headed to the back but Chris Benoit's music hit and he pulled Heyman back to the ring and rolled him into the ring.

Paul grabbed the kendo stick and backed off, saying that he's leaving.

Paul Heyman hit Chris Benoit with the kendo stick several times and Benoit knocked Heyman down in the ring and then John Cena restrained Benoit, signaling for the soap. Chris Benoit put Paul Heyman in the sharpshooter and Cena took the mic and said that hurts, doesn't it?

Paul asked for help and Cena said he's going to help him all right but Paul has to help the fans. Paul booked the match and it's time for some soap. Chris Benoit held Paul in the sharpshooter but only synched in some pain at Cena's demands. Cena got Chris to synch it in and Paul screamed and Cena soaped Paul's mouth. Cena said he knows looking at his body type, he's probably a little hungry right now. Let's see fat ass take a fat ass bite out of this bar of soap.

Cena made Paul take a bite and Paul spit it out and Cena told him that everybody knows you don't spit it out, you swallow.

Paul threatened Cena and demanded that Chris Benoit let him go but Cena told Chris to synch in the sharpshooter and he did that and Cena forced him to take another bite.

Cena and Benoit continued to toy with Paul Heyman through the end of the show, leaving him laying.
