| Smackdown July 10th:
The shows starts with video clips of Zach Gowen winning his WWE SmackDown! contract.
Kurt Angle's music hits as he makes his way down to the ring. Angle grabs the mic, he says he came out here tonight not to wrestle but to make a point. He talks about how he lost the title three months ago, but at Vengeance he'll have a chance to win it back again. He said that he'll face two of the most dominating men today, Brock Lesnar and the Big Show. He said "It's gonna be tough, it's gonna be brutal, but I've got three words for you guys, bring it on!" Before he could say anymore, he's interupted by John Cena's music.
Cena has a mic in hand, and goes on to say that Kurt is forgetting Cena, questioning if Kurt has rocks in his brains? As he goes on into his signature raps. He says that the real main event at the PPV is John Cena VS The Undertaker.
He goes on to say that Kurt isn't his equal, because Cena is like Terminator 3, while Kurt is like the Legally Blond Sequel. Kurt grabs the mic and says that he didn't think it was possible, but John Cena is even whiter than he is. Kurt says that he respects Cena, but Kurt is multi talented, experienced in all styles, but sometimes he likes to kick it free style. He then said that he's willing to try and out rap Cena. Kurt then asks Earl Hebner's son to give him a rap beat over the mic, and Earl's son proceeds.
Kurt goes on to rap: "My name is Kurt Angle and what the heck, I won a gold medal with a fricking broken neck. You better step off because we ain't friends, I'm moving on up like the Jefferson's. You don't scare me no, no, no, I may suck but you just blow!" Cena then starts having a fit, saying that it's obvious that Kurt never majored in thuganomics, Kurt then gives Cena a quick hug. Cena questions what that was, and Kurt says that "Cena obviously hasn't majored in hugganomics, eastside!" Kurt then says that he'll be straight up and wont take his crap.
Suddenly The Big Show's music hits, as he makes his way to the ring. Show creates enough of a distraction allowing Cena to attack Angle with the FU finisher. Then Show picks up what's left of Kurt and sets him up for the ride with a chokeslam. Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio vs. F.B.I. vs A.P.A. vs. The Basham Brothers
Ron Simmons starts the match with Chuck Palumbo. Both men lock up, Palumbo hits his opponent with continuous right hands, swings Simmons into the ropes but is met by a powerslam, 1-2, the count is interupted by Johnny The Bull. Palumbo tags Danny Basham, Simmons hits him with a drop toe hold, and tags Brandshaw who's in control with hard rights and lefts. Bradshaw tags Kidman, Billy hits Danny with a drop kick, but Danny's as quick as lightning as he takes control with a gut buster on his opponent. Mysterio enters the ring, there's a lot of fast paced action. APA and FBI start to battle on the outside of the ring. Rey And Kidman then both take control as they hit a double summersault on The Basham Bothers who are waiting on the outside.
Basham Brothers are in control. Then backstage footage is shown from where the APA and FBI aparently had eliminated themselves as they go to work on eachother relentlessly. Then Nunzio cleans house with a chair shot to both members of The APA. Back in the ring, Doug Basham has a chin lock on Mysterio.
He then tags Danny, but Rey hits a Bulldog on him and tags Kidman. Billy Kidman hits a drop kick on Doug, followed by a bulldog. Doug then takes control with a powerslam and gets a near three count. Kidman back in control, hits his opponent with a face buster.
Kidman goes to the top rope and hits a shooting star press. 1-2, but Danny breaks up the count. Danny then tosses Mysterio out of the ring and hits Kidman with a DDT. Kidman wakes up, hits a jaw breaker on his opponent. He Tags Mysterio, Rey hits a 619, and then a leg drop from the top rope!
And gets the three count.
Backstage Kurt Angle is being tended to for his injuries, with ice on his neck. Lesnar confronts him asking him what happened? Kurt asks him where he was when it happened? Lesnar said that he knows what it feels like to take the chokeslam, and he would have been there for Kurt but he just arrived at the building. Lesnar says that if Angle can't handle Big Show by himself then he has no chance in taking on both Lesnar and Show. Angle reminds Lesnar that he beat Show for the title, and Lesnar got beat by Show. But Lesnar tells Angle not to worry, because "We're" gonna beat Show at the PPV." But Angle corrects Brock telling him there's no 'we,' because it's every man for himself at the PPV. Brock then laughs it off and tells Kurt to put more ice on his head, because it's a bit swollen. Zach's contract signing
Zack Gowen and Stephanie McMahon vs. Big Show, (Match footage repeated) - see last weeks SmackDown Results!
After the footage, Stephanie McMahon's music hits as she makes her way down to the ring holding Gowen's official SmackDown! contract in hand.
Stephanie's standing the ring, she invites Zach Gowen to join her in the ring. Zach's music hits as he makes his way to ring.
Once in the ring, he hugs Steph, and takes the mic.
Zach tells everyone that last week his dreams came true when he won the match. He then thanks Steaphine, Angle and Lesnbar for their help, but most importantly he thanks the fans for their support, and he says they are his inspiration and heroes. He says he's very proud to be the next Smackdown! Superstar. Zach says: "Enough of the mushy crap, lets get down to business!" As Steph hands him a pen, Zach signs his contract.
But before he can enjoy the moment, Vince McMahon's music hits, as he's accompanied down the ring by Sable, and as they both enter the ring.
Vince takes the mic, and says that he can speak for everyone over the world that he is truly proud of both Zach and Steph. Especially since Steph slapped him in the face last week, and since Zach was assisted to achieve his contract.
He then announces that tonight there will be a handicap match with Brock Lesnar taking on The Big Show, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. He then says that Zach works for Vince, and that he will professional do everything he's told or be fired publicly. Vince then orders Zach to hobble all the way to Vengeance to take on Vince McMahon.
But he tells him not to worry, as he mocks Zach by saying he's contemplating wrestling with one arm behind his back, or hopping on one leg. Vince then tells Zach that he'll make him regret the day he ever signed with the WWE. Because Zach may have survived cancer, but he wont survive Vince McMahon.
Suddenly Sable hits Stephanie in the head with the contract clipboard and knocks her senseless.
Vince then smiles and walks away with Sable as Zach tends to Stephanie. Backstage Vince and Sable:
Vince kisses Sables hand and tells her how proud he is of her, as they both lock lips. Vince then takes a look at Sable, but within seconds Stephanie comes barging in the locker room and spears Sable knocking over the couch, as Steph pulls at Sables hair and tries to choke the life out of her. Steph is then assisted out of the locker room area, and Vince tells her that if she wants to fight so bad she'll have her chance at Vengeance when she'll take on Sable one on one in the ring. Sable then looks worried after hearing about the match. Matt Hardy Version 1 and Shannon Moore vs. Chris Benoit And Rhyno
Rhyno opens up with right hands on Shannon Moore, he whips Moore into the ropes but Shannon couners with a spinning DDT. He tags Hardy who hits the side effect, 1-2, almost a three count. Hardy then tags Moore, they double kick Rhyno, Moore then hits a swinging neck breaker and gets a two count. Shannon's in control, with a unique arm bar submission.
Rhyno tries to battle out but is met with a clothesline. Moore charges his opponent but is thrown into the top turn buckle. Rhyno tags Benoit who's on fire. He hits a snap suplex and gets a two count. Hardy interferes but is met with a german suplex, snd then one to Moore. Benoit signals for the headbutt off the top, he proceeds and connects beautifully. But after he's met with a twist of fate by Matt Hardy. Shannon crawls on Benoit for the cover, but before he can get a three count Benoit locks on the Crippler cross face submission.
Shannon taps out. Angle and Lesnar backstage
Both men are sitting down, Angle tells Lesnar how the odds are stacked against him in his handicap match tonight. Lesnar says that's why he's the champ, and why he does what he does.
But he asked Kurt if he got him back tonight? Kurt says he's got him covered, because he doesn't want any excuses come Vegeance, he wants Lesnar to be 100 percent. Eddie Guerrero vs. Ultimo Dragon
Before the match, Eddie grabs the mic, with a surprisingly good reception, as the crowd chants Eddie! Eddie says that he wants to wish Tajiri a speedy recovery, sincerely. He then says that he admits that he has a little bit of a temper problem, but no one can blame him because he lost the titles last week, and Tajiri damaged his vehicle, which is like touching his woman. So he had to teach Tajiri a lesson. But he says he learned a lesson himself, because it's about time he started taking care of himself, and I couldn't agree more. He said that has entered himself in the US title tornament, and his first match starts tonight.
Ultimo Dragon's music hits, as he makes his way to the ring with a very impressive entrance, with fire exploding behind him.
The bell rings, both men lock up, Guerrero is in control. The Dragon quickly changes he pace with fast atheticism, but Guerrero then hooks him in an armbar. A lot of fast paced action! The dragon breaks free with some martial arts kicks. Guerrero moves to the outside. Once back in the ring, The Dragon swings him into the corner but is met with a powerslam, 1-2, almost a three count. Guerrero still in control, swings his opponent into the ropes and meets him with a back breaker. Suddenly The Dragin gains momentum nd tosses Guerrero to the outside to catch a breather, but not for long as Guerrero trips his opponent to the outside to go to work on him. Both men back in the ring, biut the pace quickly turns again as the Dragon hits quick pinning combinations getting near falls. The dragon knocks his opponent down, he then hits a standing moonsault, but before he can get a count, Eddie rolls The Dragon up for the count using the tights to gain victory. Backstage Billy Gunn and Torrie Wilson
Both Billy and Torrie are groping eachother and kissing very passionately, then then run into Dave Hebnar and act like nothing happened. Billy Gunn and Torrie Wilson vs. Jamie Noble and Nidia
Gunn takes control with an early offence and gets a quick cover to start things off with Noble. Gunn then gives his opponent a gorilla press slam, but Noble lands on his feet and tags Nidia. Nidia goes to work on Billy but to no avail, Gunn tags Torrie. Torrie goes after Nidia, both woman are rolling on the ground. Torrie puts the boots to her, but Nidia counters with a clotheslines and get a two count. Nidia swings Torrie into the ropes but is met by a swinging neck breaker, but the count is interupted by Noble. Jamie then attacks Billy on the outside, hitting him with a drop toe hold into the ring side steps knocking him senseless. But inside the ring Torrie hits Nidia with a DDT and gains the three count.
After the match, Noble grabs the mic and corners Torrie Wilson. He tells her she got lucky winning tonight, and that she's probably not half as good as Nidia is in bed, but he would like to find out.
He then gives her an indecent proposal, he offers her ten thousand dollars to sleep with him. Torrie tries to slap him but is blocked by Noble, then Billy Gun enters the ring assaulting Noble, he then kicks him in the mid section allowing Torrie to nail Noble with a DDT. Nidia tries to run off but is caught by Torrie who's on fire, as she pulls Nidia's shorts off revealing her striped underwair. Nidia covers herself with her coat and leave ringside with her Jamie Noble.
Backstage, Lesnar and Angle are making their way to the ring, but suddenly Kurt Angle is told by a backstage assistent that Vince McMahon wants to see him immediately. Angle tells Brock he'll be right back, and promises to help Lesnar tonight during his match. Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin
Before the match, the referee announces that the match will be 'a falls can occur anywhere match,' ordered by Vince McMahon.
The match starts, Lesnar is in control with a hip toss on Haas. Lesnar tosses Haas to the outside, he then takes The Big Show down with a tackle. On the outside, Lesnar goes for an F5 on Benjamin but Haas interferes and goes for a quick pin, but doesn't get the three count. Back in the ring, Haas is in control, isolating Lesnar in the corner. Lesnar changes the pace quickly, swings Haas into the ropes but Shelton Benjamin trips Lesnar and pulls him to the outside where the Big Show is waiting. Show hits Lesnar with a steel chair on the outside. Haas covers Lesnar and gets a two count. Back in the ring Haas hits Lesnar with a back suplex, and gets a two count again. He then tags Show who isolates his opponent in the corner with fore arm shots to the chest. Lesnar then takes The Big Show down to the mat but is still feeling the effects on the earlier assault. The Show is back in control with a Legdrop to Lesnar's chest. He tags Haas, now it's double team action on Lesnar as both Haas and Benjamin hit a double body slam on Lesnar. Haas tags Benjamin, he locks a reverse bear hug on Lesnar with sheer force. Behind the refs back he switches with Haas, and the hold is still applied. Lesnar somehow breaks free, but Haas hits him with a drop kick and gets a two count. Haas tags Show, now Show locks on a huge bear hug on Lesnar squeezing with all his might.
Lesnar breaks free, Show goes for a Chokeslam but is countered by a belly to belly suplex.
Onto the outside of the ring Show goes for a body slam but is slamed into the ring post by Lesnar. Then Lesnar is once again double teamed by former Team Angle members!
They toss Lesnar in the ring, but he soon takes control. Lesnar hits an F5 on Haas in the center of the ring. Before he can make the cover, he's pulled to the outside by Shelton. But Lesnar is ready for him as hits a belly to belly suplex on Benjamin.
Lesnar then takes the steel steps and places them beside the announcers table.
He sets up Shelton for the F5, but Show stops him with a big boot. Show and Lesnar then trades blows, Lesnar rams Show into the steel steps, he then climbs the stairs setting up Show for an F5, but Show counters grabbing him by the throat.
The Big Show connects with a Chokeslam as Lesnar comes crashing down on the table below.
Show then climbs down the stairs, arrogantly places one foot over his opponent and wins the match by the count of three.
After the match, The Big Show walks away feeling very confident heading towards the next PPV, and still Kurt Angle is nowhere to be seen. |

| I have a feeling Sable's (and espeically Vince's) wrath is only starting, so I see a win for both Vince and Sable at Veangeance ... although in a match with Sable and especially Steph I don't care about the winner, I just care about the 'show' ... and Vince with all this power, he should make the match a bra and panties or lingerie match or something like that ... |

| Because of their upcoming Asian Tour, Smackdown was already taped this Sunday: Smackdown July 17th Spoilers: | Spoiler! |
They hit the lights and the pyro, and we're on to Smackdown.
After a video package recapping Lesnar getting chokeslammed through the announce table, Vince comes out to lead off. He said people need to learn their lessons, as Kurt Angle did, because he told Angle if he interfered in the handicap match involving Lesnar and Show the previous week, he'd be fired. He also announces Angle v. Show/Haas/Benjamin for this week. Lesnar comes out, and Vince warns him not to cross the boss. Brock proposes a match between he and Vince, and Vince agrees, just not for tonight. He says Brock is still injured from the chokeslam, and orders him to take the night off and not to interfere in Angle's match tonight.
Chris Benoit v. Matt Hardy - Semi-finals in the US Title tournament. Slow to start but picks up when Hardy goes for a diving headbutt from the top and misses. Benoit hits the (truncated) rolling Germans, but then misses his own headbutt from the top. After a struggle on the top turnbuckle, Benoit hits the Crossface coming down and gets the win to advance.
They shoot some t-shirts into the crowd. They did this twice and it got the second biggest crowd reaction of anything on the show.
Backstage, Vince is at his desk. Stephanie walks in and wants to know where Sable is. Vince says he has Sable in a safe place so Stephanie can't find her, but he says Sable gave him some Midol to give to Stephanie for her PMS.
Backstage, Kurt Angle catches up with Brock as he's leaving the building. They engage in witty banter about their upcoming title match at the PPV and Brock warns him to watch out for the announce table tonight.
Jamie Knoble (w/Nidia) v. Ultimo Dragon - Knoble comes out with the mic and says he got carried away last week when he made his indecent proposal to Torrie. He gets carried away even further and doubles his offer. Nidia leaves in a huff. The match doesn't go long, but Dragon hits a nice Asai moonsault. Billy Gunn and Torrie walk out, Knoble gets distracted and Dragon gets the pin.
In a graveyard, John Cena cuts a rapping promo on the Undertaker.
Backstage, the APA are passing out fliers for the first annual APA Bar-room Brawl at the PPV. They invite Spanky and Kanyon.
Kidman/Rey Mistero v. two masked men - I've never seen the two guys in masks and I don't think they got introduced. Very short match that ended with Kidman holding one of the masked men against the ropes for Rey to hit the 619. Kidman then hit his SSP for the win.
Once again, Vince joins us in the ring. He says he wants to recognize Sable, who is up in one of the box seats higher up in the arena. He, shockingly, insinuates that he's had sex with her. He then starts talking about Zack Gowen, who he refers to as a "sickening amputee." John Cena heads out and does a rap about how Vince is going to beat Gowen at the PPV, including the line "We've both got handicap matches it seems / I'm fighting a dead man and you're killing Christopher Reeves." Of course, Undertaker comes out to no-sell some Cena offense before laying him out with the big boot.
Rhyno v. Sean O'Haire - Nothing match that ends after less than a minute when the APA come out to give the two men flyers for the Bar-room Brawl. O'Haire ducks out and Rhyno gets beaten and left laying.
The Wrestlemania Recall for this week is Butterbean annihilating Bart Gunn at WM15. Nice choice.
Eddie Guerrero v. Billy Gunn - Second semi-final in the tournament. Billy Gunn throws some of the worst punches in the entire industry. Watch him smacking his fist into his hand against Eddie's head and you'll see what I mean. Eddie misses a frog splash. Noble runs in after Torrie and there's a ref bump. Eddie cracks Billy with a chair and gets the pin. That leaves him vs. Benoit in the finals, which shouldn't disappoint.
Back to Sable again, as Josh Matthews tries to interview her. Steph shows up dressed as a serving lady and pours wine on Sable. They fight in a big pile of food.
The Desire video (the one set to the Kid Rock song) is played. This got a better reaction than anything on the show besides the t-shirt shooting and the main event. The biggest pops were for Hogan and Bret Hart.
Kurt Angle vs. Big Show + Haas/Benjamin - Good, heated main event. They brawl outside the ring and eventually through the crowd. Once back in the ring, Angle nails them all with a trash can lid. They recover, but Zach Gowen runs out and tries to clean house before Big Show tosses him around. Angle makes the save and hits two Angle Slams and puts Hass in the ankle lock. Big Show breaks that up. Gowen hits a nice dive to the outside and Angle beats Big Show with the stairs. Great spot to finish, where Haas had Angle in the atomic drop position for Benjamin to hit the superkick, but Angle catches his foot and swings it around so that it hits Haas coming back around and Angle slaps the ankle lock on Benjamin for the finish. Angle and Gowen leave together. | Personal Input: | Spoiler! | I'm actually glad Billy Gunn is out ... Eddie vs Benoit should be a good match, the two former friends going at it for the title.
Similar main event as last week, with different winner this time ... I'm really looking forward to the Triple Threat at Vengeance |

| Smackdown Preview July 17th:
Vengeance is really starting to take shape, and the July pay-per-view extravaganza will no doubt continue to do so this Thursday night (8/7 CT) when UPN presents SmackDown!
The key players for Vengeance -- which is Sunday, July 27 -- will be at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, for SmackDown! They include Mr. McMahon, Sable, Stephanie McMahon, the Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and many more!
In fact, Mr. McMahon has already ordered the main event for this Thursday's show. One week after forcing Brock Lesnar to take on three Superstars -- the Big Show and the World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) -- the WWE chairman this week is forcing Kurt Angle to take on the same three men! Remember, Lesnar & Angle will face the Big Show in a Triple Threat WWE Championship match at Vengeance -- that is, if they make it to Vengeance!
The semifinals U.S. Championship Tournament take place this week on SmackDown! In one semi, Eddie Guerrero battles Billy Gunn, accompanied by Torrie Wilson. Also, Matt Hardy will face Chris Benoit. The winners of these two matches will go one on one at Vengeance for the U.S. Title.
In more singles competition, the Ultimo Dragon takes on Jamie Noble, and Rhyno tangles with Sean O'Haire. (You can of course always read the full spoilers already in the post above this one!) |

| Smackdown Results July 17th:
The show starts with footage from last weeks match, Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, ending with Lesnar going through the announcers table via choke slam by The Big Show! With Michael Cole's closing words: "The Big Show has Brock Lesnar's number."
Mr. McMahon's music hits as he makes his way down to ringside. He enters the ring and asks for a mic. He welcome's everyone to Smackdown! He talks about how a couple of weeks ago he made a match with Zach and Sephanie vs. Bigshow, and how he's amazed by how Gowen won his contract, with a bonus, a match with McMahon at Vengeance. He says Gowen won the match because of two reasons, because of Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnars interference. He then says that everyone in atendeance needs to be taught a lesson, and he'll teach his daughter a lesson at the next ppv. He then goes on to say how Lesnar was taught a lesson last week being he got choke slammed on the announcers table by The Big Show.
He then tells everyone that last week he told Kurt Angle if he interferenced in Brocks match he would have been taken out of the championship match at the ppv, and would hve been fired. But tonight it's Angle's turn to be taught a lesson, as he'll take on Big Show Charlie Hass and Shelton Benjamin. Before Vince can say anymore he's interupted by Brock Lesnars music, who makes his way to the ring.
McMahon doesn't look too happy to see Lesnar. Both men come face to face. Vince says he doesn't know why Lesnars out here, but he wants to remind him of one thing, "don't cross the boss." But Lesnar says he's not here to cross the boss, but to beat the boss. He then demands a match between himself and McMahon tonight!
McMahon tells Lesnar "you think I'm gonna back down from you?" McMahon says, "you want the match, you're on!" But just not tonight..
Vince says that he wants to face Lesner at 100 percent, he then reminds Lesnar that he's in no shape to face Vince McMahon. McMahon says that for Lesnars own protection, he's gonna give Lesnar the night off. And that if he interferes in Angle's match tonight, he'll be stripped of the title, and fired from the company. So Vince suggests that Lesner should leave...Lesnar then starts to leave ringside, but then Lesnar says he understands McMahon's conditions, and although he can't F5 him tonight, for now he tells Vince FU. US Title Sei Final: Chris Benoit Vs. Matt Hardy Version 1
The bell sounds. Benoit quickly goes for the Crross Face Submission, but Hardy wisely makes it to the ropes. Both men engage in test of strength, but Benoit breaks it with an armbar and takes Matt down to the mat. Hardy isolates Benoit in the corner with chops to the chest, but Benoit retaliates with more force. A rake to the eyes by Hardy, but Benoit quickly goes back to the forearms. Shannon Moore )(who's waiting at ringside) then trips Benoit as he swings into the rope, and then hits Beniot with a neck breaker behind the refs back, Hardy gets a two count.
Hardy then goes for a full nelson submission as Benoit screams in pain.
Benoit struggles but breaks free and goes for a backslide but only gets a two count. Benoit hits his opponent with a huge forarm as he builds momentum, and then hits a suplex. Hardy goes for a twist of fate but is countered by the cross face submission, but Hardy grabs the ropes in time. Now Matt's nose is busted wide open. Matt goes for two side effects, and signals for a headbut off the top, (a page out of Benoit's book,) but misses on contact as Benoit moves out of the way.
Both men are down.
Both men back to their feet, Benoit with a right hand, and then two german suplexes. Benoit is then dumped out of the ring on his third attempt for a suplex, both men battle outside. Back in the ring, as Benoit connects with a third German suplex. Benoit goes goes for a headbutt off the top, but Hardy moves out of the way, (de ja vu.) Hardy then goes for a side effect off the top, but Benoit amazingly counters into the cross face submission!
And Hardy taps out! Benoit advances to the final at Vengeance. Backstage:
Vince is on the phone, talking about how priceless the look was on Lenars face when was intimidated by Vince, he's then interupted by Steph. She tells Vince that she expected her father to take over her office, but she's ready to attack Sable at any given moment. Vince tells her that Sable is here but in an isolated room to protect Steph from getting hurt. Vince then says that Sable has offered her a peace offering but he doesn't know what it is. He shows Steph her offering which is a woman's product for PMS.
Stephanie knocks it out of Vince's hand and walks off infuriated. Angle and Lesnar backstage:
Both men meet, Angle tells Brock how he's gonna get his butt kicked tonight in the main event.
Lesnar laughs at the notion, but he tells him not to get hurt because he doesn't want any excuses come time for the ppv and walks away. Angle then says that he has never made an excuse in his life. Jamie Noble vs. The Ultimo Dragon
Jamie Noble enters the ring with a mic, and tells Torrie Wilson who's waiting in the back that he'll offer her 25 thousand dollars to sleep with him. As a result, his gf Nidia walks away and leaves ringside.
Match starts. Both men lock up in a test of strength, The Dragon counters with a leg scissors take down. He then releases the hold and proceeds to kick his opponent, and then hits a leg sweep, and gets a two count. Noble takes control with a go behind, but is throw outside. The Dragon then connects with a huge moonsault hitting his opponent on the outside.
Noble, back in the ring, The Dragon goes up the top rope, but Noble hits him with a drop kick on immediate contact. Noble goes for his finisher, The Tiger bomb. But Torrie Wilson and Billy Gunn provide some distraction making their way to ringside.
This allows The Dragon to hit a unique roll up pinning combination and get the win. Michael Cole then says that Torrie Wilson just screwed Noble for free.
John Cena is outside at a cemetary. He proceeds into one of his raps about how The Undertaker was never the dead man, and how he's old news. And at Vengeance that he's gonna claim his territory right on the mark, as he begins to urinate on a tombstone. Backstage:
The APA are shown with Spanky... They invite him to the first annuel APA invitational Bar Room Brawl at Vengeance, he accepts.
They then spot Kanyon backstage and give him the same offer, but Kanyon says he can't because he has the cable guy coming over that day. They then tell him it's not an offer, now it's a demand, Kanyon quickly accepts, not wanting to get a beating. Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio Vs. Conquistadors
The match begins as it's very hard to tell these Conquistadors apart, although they do resemble The Basham Brothers.
Kidman starts with Conquistador #47, Kidman wipped into the ropes, 45 misses with a right hand but Kidman connects with a spinning leg scissors and then a drop kick. He tags in Mysterio, he connects with a drop kick, a hook of the leg but a kick out after two. Rey is swung into the ropes, but he takes a nice shot by conquistador 45, and then he's tagged in. A headbutt by #45, but Mysterio connects with a shot to his opponents mouth, and then a beautiful leg scissors. He tags Kidman and he connects with a nice clothesline, Mysterio connects with a inverted splash.
Kidman goes for the cover, but he's stopped by Conquistador #45. He's tagged in, nice neck breaker, almost a three count. He goes for a powerbomb, but Kidman battles out and counters with a lef scissors. Kidman holds #45 in place for the 619 by Mysterio and Rey connects. Kidman them hits him with The Shooting Star Press for the victory.
Vince McMahon enters the ring in a wild mood. He says that he was interupted earlier by Lesnar when he tried to talk about his match at the next ppv. But before he does that he wants to recognize someone very special, and that's Sable, who's waiting in the sky box, he directs the camera angle towards her s she waves to the cheering crowd. He then says that Sable is a hell cat, she's the type of woman who stalks her prey. And she goes on for hours in assault. But he really wants to talk about Gowen, and Vince admits that Gowen is different, but mother nature sould have taken care of the defects. And that Zach is merely a sickening amputated person. He mentions how it's hard to look at such a person. He then says that anyone with any form of disease, most people don't want to have to deal with them. Because everyone doesn't know what to say when around such people.
He then says that people donate to charity because they want to keep that sickness away from their family. But Vince will deal with that sickness, because he's gonna put Zach out of his mystery at Vengeance.
But before Vince can sauy another word, John Cena's music hits, as Vince is interupted again, twice in one night. Cena enters the ring, Vince is infuriated. Cena tells Vince to chill, because everyone's really talking about his match with Taker at Vengeance. He then says he's out here to tell everyone what Vince is about to do with Zach. He says that like Ted Turner Zach is no competition as he goes into another one of his raps. He then says that he's killing a deadman, and Vince is fighting Christopher Reeves. Vince's mood then changes, he says that he appreciates Cena's presence, and the fact that he's willing to speak his mind. Then the Undertaker's music hits, as Vince is interupted once again.
Taker rolls down to ringside on his Motor cycle.
Cena tosses the ringside steps at Taker, which agrivates him. Vince leaves ringside. Both Cena and Taker then go at it inside the ring. The Taker is swung into the ropes, but he hits Cena with a big boot, knocking him outside the ring.
Cena then races back to the locker room. Rhyno vs. Sean O'Haire
Shawn O' Haire wasts little time going after his opponent before the bell rngs with sudden kicks. He then begins to choke Rhyno with the camera cord. The APA then comes down the aisle. They pass out invitations to a bar room brawl, which isn't the best timing. Rhyno isn't too pleased, he attacks Ron Simmons with a gore, and is then attackied by Bradshaw for his efforts. But O'Haire accepts the invitation and walks off.
The match never officially got underway, so there are no winners.
Sable is then handed a drink up at the sky box, as she thanks the female crew member. She sips it, but then asks for the crew member's name, she responds with Sara.
She tells Sara that she doesn't mean to be rude, but her drink is supposed to be chilled. The crew member then takes her drink away for another. US Title Tournament Semi Final: Eddie Guerrero vs. Billy Gunn
The bell sounds, both men make a test of strength attempt, Eddie counters with a go behind but is tossed to the side. Both men lock up again, and Guerrero takes Gunn down. Both men are at it again, Billy connects with a powerslam, 1-2, almost a three count. Gunn goes for a suplex, but before he connects with the move, he holds Guerrero upside down for a few good seconds letting him think about it, and then connects to the mat. Goes for a quick cover, but Guerrero kicks out at 2. Guerrero then takes control isolated Gunn in the corner with right hads, turning on the Latino heat.
Snap neck breaker by Guerrero, he gets only a two count on Gunn. Guerrero works on Billy's neck with a submission hold.
Gunn struggles to his feet and breaks free countering with a back suplex. He covers Guerrero non challant, but only gets two. Eddie goes back to the neck, applying the pressure on Gunn. He soon breaks free with a back body drop. Gunn hits a modified version of brain buster, and gets a quick two count. Submission move on Eddie.
Eddie breaks lose using ropes. Gunn props Guerrero up on the top rope, he gives himself enough room and comines charging towards his opponent. Kind of sloppy, which allows Guerrero to move out of the way, Billy connects with his head hitting the ring post, he falls to the mat.
Guerrero connects with a dropkick from the top, 1-2, still not 3. Guerrero goes for a snap suplex but is countered by Gunn who tosses Eddie into the air. Gunn signals for his finishing move, he goes for it by Guerrero counters with a drop kick to the knee. Guerrero then hooks his opponent into a half crab submission, but Gunn makes it to the ring. Both men exchange right hands, Guerrero hits a double snap suplex. Eddie's feeling froggy, he goes for the frog splash off the top rope but Billy rolls out of the way.
Here's the turning point of the match, Gunn takes advantage and hits a unique neck breaker, 1-2, Guerrero grabs the bottom rope stopping the count. The fans surprisingly start chanting Eddie's name, at this point Jamie Noble enters ringside and slips a steel chair under the ropes. Behind the refs back, Guerrero clobbers Gunn with the object straight to his skull. Fearing the ref heard the sound of the chair shot, Guerrero lays down in the ring confusing the ref as to who hit who. The ref tosses the chair to the outside, Guerrero playing possum, slowly makes his way to Gunn and gets the three count.
Sable is shown with announcer Josh Mathews, he asks Sable for her comments going into her PPV match. Sable says that she would do anything for Vince, even if it means taking out his daughter. Stephanie then arrives bringing Sable another glass of wine, she then pours it on Sables head.
Sable then goes crazy attacking Steph pushing her over into a chair, she then proceeds to choke Steph throwing food all over her as Steph gasps for air.
Josh distracts Sable by calling her name, Sable delivers a huge slap to Josh's face. This allows Stephanie to take advantage of Sable as she slaps her countless times, as she screams at her. Both woman are rolling around in the floor, both covered in food. Soon backstage assistents break up the fight restraining both woman. Kurt Angle vs. The Big Show, Shelton Benjamin And Charlie Haas (No holds Barred, falls can occur anywhere match)
The match starts with both Benjamin and Haas double teaming Angle, isolating him in the corner with countless kicks to the mid section.
Benjamin then takes control with Angle, but not for long as Angle quickly changes the tide as he goes after Benjamin with lefts and rights. Haas comes in to help, but to no avail, as he's thrown into his partner. The Big Show is tagged in, Angle quickly goes after him but is soon stopped in his footsteps as The Big Show attacks Angle with huge chops to the head, he tosses Angle to the ropes, which allows Benjamin to hit Angle with a garbage can lid. Show goes for the cover, but Angle somehow kicks out. Angle tossed to the outside. Benjamin continues the assault on Angle. Haas then hits Angle with a chair shot to the back. Haas goes for the cover, but Angle kicks out.
With amazing strength, The Big Show gorilla presses Angle and tosses him back in the ring, as he continues the assault inside the ring.
Somehow Angle tosses The Show to the outside, giving himself a breather. Haas and Benjamin enter the ring, but are both met with German suplexs. Kurt Angle tries to buy himself some time, but on the outside The Big Show is glaring at the ringside steps, as he suddenly positions the steps next to the ringside announce table, an omen of last weeks destruction. Angle comes to the outside and stops Show in his tracks nailing him with a steel chair to the back.
Back from commercial, Angle is double teamed by Haas and Benjamin, still on the outside. Angle struggles to gain momentum, Haas charges at Angle but is back body dropped over the ring side barricade. Angle clothslines Benjamin with the blink of an eye. Angle then climbs over the barricade to continue the assault on Haas, with countless right hands leading both men further to the back. Angle locks the Ankle lock submission on Haas, just when he's bout to tap, Benjamin interferes breaking the hold. But Angle's not through yet, he tosses Benjamin into a guard rail and sends him fying. He then applies the ankle lock once more on Haas but is sidetracked by The Big Show. Show continues the assault with right hands, and then a headbutt that knocks angle off his feet. Big Show signals for the choke slam, he grabs Angle's throat, but he counters with a kick to Show's groin. But Haas and Benjamin quickly take control, as they toss Angle back into the ring. Trash can lid attempt blocked by Angle, as he counters and gives Haas a taste of his own medicine with the lid top, and then hits Benjamin. Big Show enters the ring, but is met with a lid shot to the head, but still isn't off his feet. Angle swings into the ropes and clips Show's legs.
But Show is up with a clothesline to Angle.
Suddenly Zach Gowen makes his way to the ring ...
He removes his prosthetic leg and hops into the ring, he drop kicks the Show, and then continues with kicks to both Haas and Benjamin, amazing with only one leg. The Big Show is up and effortlessly tosses Gowen to the side!
But Gowens interference has given Kurt Angle new life as he proceeds to attacks The Big Show, Angle connects with an Angle slam, and show rolls to the outside. Angle hits another slam on Benjamin, he then locks the Ankle lock submission on Haas as he attempts to beat the odds tonight.
But before ya know it The Big Show comes in kicking Angle in the chest breaking the hold. He tosses Angle to the outside, as he attempts to toss him through the annoucers table, but Zach Gowen tries to save Angle as he leaps into The Show's arms, but he's caught and easily dropped onto the barricade. This gives Angle a chance to retaliate, as he picks up the steel steps and uses them as a battering ram knocking Big Show over the barricade. Before he can celebrate, he's attacked by both former members of team Angle, as they toss Angel back into the ring. They attempt their finishing move as Haas holds Kurt into position, Benjamin goes for a super kick, but his foot is cauhet by Angle. The momentum spins Benjamin into his partner Haas. This allows Angle to lock the Ankle Lock Submission hold on Benjamin who has no choice but to tap out from the pain.
After the match, Angle rushes to Gowen's side as both men embrace. They both walk up the ramp as they raise both of their hands in a sign of sweet victory. Zach Gowen contributed an amazing amount of energy, proving that he has what it takes to be a WWE superstar. This kid has a lot of heart! |

| Smackdown Preview July 24th:
The clock is ticking away toward Vengeance, which is this Sunday, live on pay-per-view from the Pepsi Center in Denver!
In fact, the last stop before Vengeance is this Thursday's episode of SmackDown!, airing at 8 p.m./7 CT on UPN from the Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif.!
Appropriately, this week's SmackDown! will have a pay-per-view quality main event, as Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar & Zach Gowen team to take on the Big Show & The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas). That means that all three members of Sunday's Triple Threat WWE Championship (Lesnar, Angle, Show) will be in the same ring at the same time this Thursday night! Plus, with Gowen involved in this match, you know that Mr. McMahon won't be that far away.
Will any more matches be announced for Vengeance? Will the APA invite anyone else to participate in their barroom brawl? What else is going to happen?
Find out this Thursday night (8/7 CT on UPN) on SmackDown! |

| Smackdown Spoilers July 24th: (By David Meltzer) | Spoiler! | Dark Matches Solo d. Tony Kozina
Crowd was into it only because it was the first match. The crowd before this had popped huge to the sound check guy, and the lights being dimmed. Solo won with a slightly messed up move similar to the move Rey Mysterio does coming off the top rope and sitting down on the opponent. Ultimo Dragon d. Shawn Evans
Dragon's flames were HOT!!! And it was awesome to see such a great international star, but the match was short. Lots of kicks from Dragon. Evans got in some offense, but Dragon won with the reverse sommersault into a ddt. Kanyon d. Keji Sakoda
Sakoda was announced as being from Fresno, but he was also announced as being from Bakersfield back in February, so I guess he's the "hometown" representative for Smackdown. Kanyon won with a version of the downward spiral, where he jumped and brought his opponent down.
note: this match may air on velocity, since the velocity video was on during it, but I'm not sure. Velocity Taping
No velocity pyro for this one. I think it had to do with the low ceiling at Sellend Arena, because the Fire Marshall was out in full force around the pyro guys all night. They introduced Josh Mathews and The Cat. The Cat tried to get Mathews to dance, but it didn't work, so he danced instead. Orlando Jordan d. Nunzio
Didn't really pay much attention to this match for some reason. Jordan looks a lot like Billy Blanks, you know, the Tae Bo guy. Basham Brothers d. Spanky and Funaki
Awesom match!! Spanky is amazing to see live, and the Basham Bros. have some nice double team moves. One such move was Danny slingshoting Spanky and Doug coming off the top to bulldog him on the way down. Spanky hit several dropkicks, and side kicks. He took a nasty fall down onto the steps at the end. And that allowed the Bashams to hit a combonation Clothesline into a Russian Leg Sweep for the win on Funaki. Smackdown
Video played of the past two weeks with 3-on-1 handicap matches. Tazz and Michael Cole snuck out to the ring while the video was playing. Pyro went off, and Smackdown is under way with.......
Stephanie comes to the ring saying Vince is taking care of Linda, and she's going to be taking Smackdown back tonight. She announces no more handicap matches, and that it will be the Big Show and Benjamin and Haas versus Lesnar, Angle, and Zach Gowan. John Cena comes out and talks about how he had a dream about Stephanie last night. He raps about being excited by her, but in a clumsy way like he's trying to be smooth. He offers Steph $20 to rip Sable's top off. Then he says he wants to smack her ass. So Steph lets him. This brings Sable up on the video screen saying how she always knew Steph liked being slapped around. She shows the footage of her beating down Steph last week. Says something about how wonderful she is, then gets mad at Steph for not agreeing (I heard Steph say nothing about disagreeing, so they might dub something in) Steph says she's gonna get Sable, and Sable invites her to the back. Rey Mysterio and Kidman d. Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore
Rey was pretty over here in Fresno. His entrance looks even cooler from eye level. Rey hit a nice face buster, that started out with him in a victory roll position on Shannon. Hardy and Moore worked over Kidman, until the hot tag came to Rey. Rey cleaned house, then tageed back in Kidman. Rey hit Shannon with the 6-1-9, then proceeded to hit Matt Hardy with a split legged moonsault from the top rope onto the floor. In the ring, Kidman hit the shooting star for the pin.
The screen cuts to Steph running around the back looking for Sable. She goes to jump a blonde in the make-up area, but its Torrie. She proceeds to find Sable and begin beating her against a limo. She throws Sable onto the trunk, then pulls off her top. Sable's breasts were exposed, and shown fully for a quick second before she jumped into the car. Steph was about to bust the window with a pipe, when Vince appeared. He said he answers to neither Stephanie nor Linda, and if Stephanie wasn't careful she'd end up laid up like Linda.
They replay last week's $25,000 offer by Jaime Noble to Torrie. Which leads into...... Billy Gunn d. Jaime Noble
A quick match the Gunn won by swinging Noble from a scoop slam position into a version of the urange.
After the match, Torrie said she'd sleep with Noble next week on Smackdown if he beat Billy Gunn at Vengeance. Noble excepted. Then Billy tried to show his ass, but the referee wouldn't let him. He kept motioning to Billy to keep his pants pulled up. Finally Billy mooned the crowd, which was followed more pleasantly by Torrie mooning the crowd.
APA was shown in the back. Steve Lombardi showed up asking to be in the Barroom Brawl on sunday. Bradshaw told him to prove himself, then he'd be invited. Oh yeah, and they said during the segment that Brother Love, and Doink the Clown would be in it too. Nice how they bring in Doink for a PPV, but Matt Hardy, Ultimo Dragon, and Spanky are left without good matches.
The new Mayor of Fresno Eddie Guerrero came out in a low rider chevy. The crowd loved Eddie, and thats an understatement. The crowd was chanting "Eddie, Eddie" 10 minutes before his segment, when they were positioning his car backstage. Eddie cut a promo about Chris Benoit and him coming up together. From Japan, to ECW, to WCW, and finally the WWE. Eddied called Benoit his best friend, which brought Chris out to the ring. Benoit talked about Eddie having many best friends lately, and it being months since they talked. Eddie said he was lying, and he hated Benoit. They jaw-jacked a little more, and Eddie was about to leave, and Benoit challenged him to a match. He called him Homes, and Essa, which drew loud boos, and lead into more "Eddie, Eddie" chants. Guererro said he'd wait til sunday, but then jumped back into the ring to attack Benoit. Benoit threw him around, then out to the floor, where Eddie sprayed him in the eyes with something. This brought out Rhyno to the rescue, and lead to..... Eddie Guerrero d. Rhyno
A slow paced match at first, but it soon picked up. Eddie hit a beautiful top rope hurricanrana. Rhyno went for the gore, but Eddie moved out of the way. Rhyno stopped to avoid the ref, but caught a low blow from Eddie. A funny moment saw Eddie smile and wink toward the camera while the ref was checking on Rhyno. Eddie dropkicked Rhyno in the face, and pinned him with help from the ropes.
A desire video ran for the Undertaker, which lead into John Cena cutting a monster promo on Taker from the middle of one of those flaming stars on the ground that they say you'll get sucked down into hell by standing inside one. Anyways, awesome promo with Cena talking about Taker not wanting to pass the torch to the new legend. APA d. FBI
Stamboli was kicked right in the face by Palumbo, and I'm pretty sure it rung his bell, if not knocked him out for a few minutes. Bradshaw hit the clothesline from hell (which should be called the clothesline from contempo casual with the way bradshaw is all clean cut and bleach blonde) A very short match. O'Haire, the Bashams, Brooklyn Brawler, and Albert came down to assault the APA.
Zach Gowan is shown getting ready for the main event, when Mr. McMahon comes in. He says he wont attack him tonight, but that on sunday people will fell sorry for him for the beating he will receive from Mr. McMahon. Zach calls him a disgraceful human being, in which Vince threatens to attack Zach, but Brock and Kurt show up to chase off Vince. Big Show and World's Greatest Tag Team (WGTT) d. Lesnar, Angle, and Gowan
Angle started off wrestling against Benjamin and Haas. Lesnar tagged in and hit an awesome belly-to-belly suplex on Haas where Lesnar neve left his feet, but suplexed Haas clean over his head. Gowan tagged in and Lesnar threw him into the tag champs. He then hit a slingshot leg drop on Benjamin. Gowan was looking good until the Big Show tagged in. Show manhandled Gowan, going for the chokeslam, but having it broken up by Lesnar. Gowan finally tagged out, but was tossed off the apron, and landed hard on his back by the Big Show. That brought out Mr. McMahon who hit Zach in the leg with a chair. Refs helped Zach to the back, and we now had a handicap match. Show and WGTT worked over Angle before he tagged in Lesnar. Lesnar cleaned house, hitting two more awesome standing belly-to-bellys before tagging Angle back in. Kurt went for the ankle lock on Show, but it was broken up with Lesnar tried to F5 Haas, but swung him into Angle. This allowed Show to hit the chokeslam on Angle for the pin. After the match Lesnar laid into Show with a chair, before Angle and he started arguing. Both men went for their finishers on the other, but they were reversed. Finally the Big Show grabbed them and chokeslammed them both. End of Show. |
Seems like a good last episode building up things further for Vengeance. |
