-Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) beat Hardcore Holly. Strange match. Holly seemed to get knocked out after a botched powerbomb by Brock.
-Eddie and Chavo Guerrero beat John Cena and Edge. Afterward, Chavo dropped his pants and was going to have Eddie give Edge the Stinkface. Edge reversed it and shoved Eddie into Chavo's butt. They argued after the commercial.
-Mark Loyd interviewed Undertaker. He said Sara has friends in Minneapolis and was present at the arena. Matt Hardy congratulated Taker for being a father. Taker shoved Matt. Matt said Taker needs an attitude adjustment and the crowd popped.
-Kurt Angle made a bunch of comments about Rey being a "boy," but kept slipping up and making suggestive man-boy sexual comments. You'll have to see it to see what I mean. The crowd was laughing like crazy.
-Angle pinned Rey Mysterio after an Angle slam off the top rope.
-Chris Benoit beat Rikishi by DQ after Angle shoved Benoit off the top rope as he was about to do his top rope headbutt.
-Benoit yelled at Steph backstage about wanting revenge against Angle. Matt then demanded a match against Taker later.
-An elderly man was the Justice of the Peace for the wedding. Rico and Stephanie came to the ring, followed by a frolicking Billy and Chuck. Three singers sang "It's Raining Men." Billy and Chuck talked about each other and then a video played of their suggestive poses and hugs in the past. Then Godfather came out with hos and tried to get Billy and Chuck to change their minds, saying they both used to be swingers. He told them they don't know what they're missing.
The justice asked Billy to say "I do." He did, but he didn't seem convinced it was the right decision. Chuck also said "I do," but wasn't any more convincing. Then Billy told Rico this has gone further than planned.
The Justice said it has gone three minutes too long, then took off his mask revealing Eric Bischoff underneath the mask. The Island Boys attacked Billy, Chuck, and Stephanie. Rico and Bischoff left together.
-Torrie pinned Nida.
-Matt Hardy beat Undertaker by DQ when Taker was counted out. Paul Heyman and Brock came to ringside with Matt, but the ref sent both back early in the match due to interfering. Taker later saw Paul harassing Sara backstage, so he ran to the back and got counted out. Taker made the save, but then Brock nailed Taker from behind with a chair.
-After the show, Hardy bragged about making a new friend in Brock, and said he deserves a title shot now that he's beaten Taker. Brock gave Hardy his finisher then rode to the back in Taker's bike.
Really good taping. I was happy to see the crowd and the WWE handle the ceremony with class. No derogatory chants. Everyone seemed to really be having fun with it and laughing throughout. It wasn't tasteless or offensive (and it easily could have been).

Brock Lesnar vs. Hardcore Holly (non-title)
Holly took a very poorly executed powerbomb that jammed his neck. The ref checked him out, and he must have said that Bob was O.K., because he got abrubtly F5'ed and pinned.
Jamie Noble and Tajiri vs. Crash and Hurricane
Crash looked really good tonight. He eventually pinned Tajiri with an interesting front piledriver into a pinning combination.
Kurt Angle vs. Rey Misterio
Kurt got on the mic before the match and made comments about Rey being a "little boy." He then told us what he does to "little boys." Funny stuff. Rey didn't look his best tonight, as he missed a couple spots. Kurt got the extremely impressive pinfall after an AngleSlam from the top rope.
The Guerrero Family vs. Edge and John Cena
Big heat for Chavo and Eddie. No reaction at all for Cena. He needs a gimmick. Anyway, Edge gets knocked out of the ring, while Chavo brainbusters Cena. Eddie proceeds to deliver a majestic frog splash to pick up the win. Some icky stuff afterwards (watch on Thursday).
Chris Benoit vs. Rikishi
Big pop for Benoit, and an even bigger pop for Rikishi. Pretty bad match, though. Rikishi missed a Personal 3-D spot, but then did it again the right way. Benoit went up top for a flying headbutt, but Kurt Angle showed up and knocked him off the turnbuckle. The ref calls for the D.Q. Even ickier stuff after this match.
The Billy and Chuck wedding was (as Vince would say), a total debacle. The ceremony was interrupted by The Godfather and a pack of hos. Rico sent them to the back, and the ceremony continued. The minister (or whatever) made a suspicious remark about 3 minutes, and pulled off a mask to reveal Eazy-E himself, Eric Bischoff. Jamal and Rosie showed up and beat the everlovin' snot out of Chuck, Billy, and Stephanie. Rico escaped with Bischoff as the entire Smackdown! roster ran out to help Steph.
Torrie Wilson vs. Nidia
Torrie had some nice moves in this match, and her wrestling wasn't bad either. She got the pinfall on Nidia with a swinging neckbreaker.
Undertaker vs. Matt Hardy
Lesnar and Heyman accompany Matt to the ring. Heyman and Lesnar get into some outside-the-ring-hijinx with 'Taker, and the ref sends them to the back. While 'Taker and Matt are going at it, the TitanTron showed Lesnar and Heyman in the back strongarming Sara. 'Taker runs off to help her, and Matt gets the countout victory. Backstage, 'Taker gets knocked unconscious with a chairshot from Lesnar.
After the show went off the air, Matt Hardy celebrated in the ring. Eventually Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out and congratulated him. Matt talked about what a great friend Brock was, and shook his hand. Brock F5'ed him for it, of course. Brock then hopped on The 'Taker's bike and rode off. Matt got carried out by the officials. |
