Default Should the Undertaker return to the Lord Of Darkness character?

I feel he should, seeing that there's a buried alive match at SS and that Wrestlemania 20 is comming up in a few months. I kinda think Deadman Inc' is wearing thin.

It would be a great move IMO to bring back the Deadman

It would give him many new challenges for the upcoming years

It was rumored that this would happen back in January when he was coming up on his return at the Royal Rumble. My feelings back then were different than they are now.

I feel it wouldn't be such a great idea to bring it back. Not after he's been the American Badass, Deadman Inc., Big Evil, etc. ever since he returned in 2000. It's been too long and would be too awkward a change.

It's always fun to feed nostalgia. But that doesn't mean it's always good. The teased return of DX was good. But it would've seemed awkward if HBK and HHH brought back a two-man DX just for the hell of it. WWE has not had a great history in reincarnating old groups/gimmicks, etc. (nWo, WCW during the Invasion).

What the Undertaker himself said makes good sense: change is necessary. His character has progressed. The goal is progression, not regression. To go back to the Phenom would be like saying that he isn't good enough the way he is now. And the solution to a "fading interest" in the current persona should be to develop it into something new, something fresh...not run back to the old gimmick just to save himself.

And besides, he doesn't have the hair for it anymore.

Seeing as how the Ministry of Darkness was my most favorite WWF moment, I strongly object to the Undertaker going back to this image.

That might not sound logical at first, but when you take a good look at NDD's post, that logic becomes more clear.

Simply said, the WWE is incapable of revamping older gimmicks and give them a success run, based on what we have seen. Therefore, if they would choose to bring it back, they would most likely destroy the good name this gimmick has by totally screwing it up.

So please let this gimmick rest in peace and be forever memorized as one of the greatest gimmicks in WWF history.

But I doubt that they will. Seeing as the WWE is on a road to doom regarding ratings, they will do whatever it takes to get more viewers. So I can already say my prayers hoping they will make this one count.

What I can see happening is the Undertaker losing the match against Vince McMahon at Survivor Series, thus being "burried alive". Then he can stay out of the spotlight for some time and come back from the dead as the Lord of Darkness at WrestleMania, fighting his final match before going into retirement. Simply said: going out with a bang.

However, the retirement will probably not be fact. He could then switch to RAW and go after Kane, but then it will be nothing more but history repeating itself. I think it's either a good move for him to go into retirement, or no move at all. And that's pretty much... the bottom... line.

I'd have to say no. Just for what everyone else has said. It was a great character, and it would be a nice change, but um... it would be mighty awkward and not very believable.

NO, there's a time and place for everything. And for him to return to that gimmick now is just not right because he would be just doing it for the purpose of being interesting.
