Default Should Football Clubs Have Points Deducted If They Go Into Administration?

I'm talking about clubs like Leicster here. I don't think that they should have gone up becuse of the financial problems.

What do you think.

Yes you should and you certainly shouldn't be able to get promoted.

Cool

If a club manages to get themselves into serious financial situations then they should be fined in some way, and taking away points seems like a simple and fair solution, so yes.

I'm not so sure about the promotion situation though.

It's just that a club in Greece have gotten into serious debt and have ended up with points being deducted every game.

So far they've ended up with (please don't laugh) -67 points. Believe me, this actually happened!

It think that this could serve as a fair warning to other clubs in debt.

Yes that actually did happen I remember reading about it. It is actually quite funny. I reckon clubs should be duducted a point for ever £500,000 they are in debt.

Trouble is most clubs are in debt but can still pay everyone and such so it should only happen if people can't pay.

Agreed. Although some of the measures taken by the clubs in debt are extreme at times. Kaiserslautern have sold their stadium in order to avoid palying in the THIRD division in Germany.

Ah, so that's why that Greek team ended up with so little points. I had seen the Greek table a few weeks ago while looking for the UEFA site, but I didn't know why that team had -67 points!

I think they now reduced it to -57 but I still don't think that's gonna do them any favours now.

Apparently UEFA are going to continue to deduct points from them next season. Things aint too good for them right now.
