Saturday 27th November
Livorno 1-2 Udinese
Siena 0-4 Roma

Sunday 28th November
Atalanta 0-1 Reggina
Bologna 0-0 Lecce
Brescia 0-2 Palermo
Chievo 0-1 AC Milan
Lazio 2-3 Cagliari
Messina 1-1 Fiorentina
Sampdoria 1-0 Parma

Like the EPL this weekend, there have been few home wins! Roma seem to have maybe turned their fortunes round with only their 4th win of the league season - although it was against 19th place! Lazio and Parma were the victims of a UEFA Cup hangover though, as both lost to teams placed higher in the table.

At the bottom things worsened for Atalanta, Siena and Parma. Reggina's 1-0 win over Atalanta moves them 9 points clear of the bottom placed club, with Sampdoria's win and Bologna's point moving those two clubs away from Parma and Siena.

Roma needed a result like that to kickstart their season.

Inter Milan 2-2 Juventus

I knew it! 13 matches, 11 draws .. maybe the Inter players should give up football and start painting!

All the goals came in the second half. Juventus took a 2 goals lead, before goals from Vieri and Adriano in the final 11 minutes pulled a point out of the bag for Inter Milan. AC Milan have the gap down by 2 points.

Saturday 4th December
Inter Milan .v. Messina
Parma .v. AC Milan

Sunday 5th December
Cagliari .v. Chievo
Fiorentina .v. Bologna
Juventus .v. Lazio
Lecce .v. Livorno
Palermo .v. Atalanta
Reggina .v. Brescia
Roma .v. Sampdoria
Udinese .v. Siena

Juventus - Lazio would have once been considered a massive tie at the top, now it is a match between the Serie A leaders and an average midtable side. Lazio will be down after being knocked out of the UEFA Cup last night and I don't see that it is likely they will get anything this weekend - not even a goal.

Inter Milan are up against Messina - a team 6th (2 places above them) and will hope to swap their paint brushes for all 3 points, for the first time in the league since September (I think) Their rivals, AC Milan, should be able to take all 3 points against 18th placed Parma.

The closeness in midtable can be highlighted by this fact - Palermo moved up almost half the table with their win last weekend. They're now 5th, I think they were 14th. Cagliari in 4th have 19 points. Livorno in 15th have 16 points! 11 places, 3 points.

Lazio have surprised me this year, they have been average at the best of times.

Something unbelieveable just happened!!

Inter Milan 5-0 Messina

.. they won!
It had to happen sometime though, didn't it .. or they'd be relegated in May. Adriano had a hat-trick before half-time. An own goal gave Inter a 4-0 lead early in the second-half before Vieri finished off the scoring with a few minutes remaining.

Parma 1-2 AC Milan.
