Lazio won the Italian Cup here Wednesday after a 2-2 draw in the second leg handed them a 4-2 win on aggregate against Juventus. The result leaves Juve coach Marcello Lippi stepping down without a trophy. Poor Juve. Started so well for them.

Juventus got back after they got in front 2-0 to tie it. But Lazio quickly destroyed all of Juventus' hopes. Deserved for Lazio

I saw the goals on a Euro round up, Lazio looked like they deserved it.

The 'opposite' of playoffs

Serie A club vs Serie B club to determine whether the Serie A club will relegate to the Serie and the Serie B club will make promotion to the Serie A.

OR

Whether the Serie A club will avoid relegation to the Serie B and the Serie B club will miss out on promotion to the Serie A.

In this particular case, the pair of matches (home and away) are called 'playoffs' (for the Serie B club they can lead to promotion) for the Serie B club and are called 'playdowns' (for the Serie A club they can lead to relegation) for the Serie A club.

You're welcome, Emma

When you have two teams from a higher and lower division competing, for one team the match is a 'playoff' while for the other team the same match is a 'playdown'. It's all a matter from whose point of view you observe it
