Nice wins for the big teams. Juventus won the Serie A 2 times in a row now ... could they do it a third? Juve, Inter, AC Milan ... I all like them. Last season I enjoyed watching/keeping an eye on the Italian football. I'll be watching again this season.

Cool

Serie A will be expanded from 18 teams to 20 teams next season after striking a deal with several rebel lower league clubs who had boycotted the start of the season.

This means that 5 teams will be promoted from Serie B this season with 3 being relegated from Serie A. A playoff will also take place between 6th place in Serie B and 15th place in Serie A.

The controversy surrounding this started last month when it was decided that Serie B should be expanded from 20 to 24 teams, with re-admittance from relegated sides Catania, Genoa and Salernitana along with Fiorentina.

So next season:

Serie A = 20 teams.
Serie B = 22 teams.

That's how it looks of course right now

But knowing Italy's history of controversial decisions ... I'd say to first wait and see

Yesterday's Results:
Sampdoria - Lazio: 1-2
Milan - Bologna: 2-1

Lazio's goals by Albertini and Simone Inzaghi.
Milan's goals by Shevchenko and Pippo Inzaghi.

Remaining 7 games to be played this afternoon and this evening.

Roma's off to a very good start. They're leading 3-0 against Brescia after 26 minutes only. Goals scored by Montella, Totti and new comer Christian Chivu.

All the big teams have 6 points out 2 matches. Next weekend, some are going to lose points.

Juventus .v. Roma next weekend being that match where a big team will lose points, I'll have to see if they're showing this one on Eurosport.
