Barry Ferguson not able to play could indeed be affecting Rangers' prestations.

Saturday 29th July
Celtic 4-1 Kilmarnock
Hibernian 1-1 Aberdeen
Dundee United 1-2 Falkirk
Dunfermline 1-2 Hearts
Inverness 1-2 St Mirren

I was also thinking about the amount of Dutch players that are in the Scottish Premier League. Sno (Celtic), Touzani (Aberdeen), De Vries (Dunfermline), Lambers (Falkirk), Powel to Hibernian? You probably have never heard of them, but it's fun for me to see this happen.

Don't you just love that the new Football season has officially begun?

And Barry is out for a number of weeks which wont help.

I have heard of De Vries

Good performance by Celtic, I was delighted to see Jarosik scoring Hearts starting off with a win as well which is good. Otherwise the Dictator would be wanting heads to roll

In case things don't go his way this season and he feels like doing something again, maybe he should take the job of coach himself?

Vladimir Romanov is 57 years old and what's old these days? Robson, Pfister, Kuhn are all much older and I'm sure there are more.

Anyways, I do agree though he should stick to the function of Hearts' chairman/owner only. We don't want to see him getting exhausted and pass out, due to all the pressure ...

Though if Niall Quinn can be manager and chairman/owner of Sunderland, anything is possible

And when I look at the list with topscorers, I see both Zurawski & Sutton have already scored twice! It was a pity to see Zurawski having such a bad World Cup, 'cause he's good player when he's around his Celtic colleagues.

Its a pity. I know some will say he is only good with Celtic because its a lower quality league.

He is back

Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov was dissatisfied with his side despite reaching the Champions League third qualifying round. The Edinburgh side followed up a 3-0 home defeat of Siroki Brijeg with a 0-0 draw in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

But Romanov said: "I'm not really satisfied. They got the result, but the game was not very good. I didn't like the game itself and I don't think the team is ready yet for the season."

Hearts will play AEK Athens in the next round, with the first leg at Murrayfield next Wednesday, after completing their aggregate victory at the Pecara Stadium.

"I'm not thinking about Athens, I'm thinking about the team itself and its state of preparation," said Romanov. "Maybe we started preparations a little bit late."
