Default it's official, Stone Cold left the WWE

http://www.wwe.com/news/headlines/1146818

Stone Cold Steve Austin walks

On March 18, 2002, the day after WrestleMania, without company approval and without notice, Stone Cold Steve Austin walked off the job and failed to appear at WWE’s Raw show in Montreal. Stone Cold Steve Austin was advised by WWE management that this was unprofessional and unacceptable. After a two week hiatus, Austin returned to work.

On Monday, June 10, 2002, Stone Cold Steve Austin again failed to appear for the scheduled Raw event in Atlanta, instead choosing to return home to San Antonio without notice and without company approval.

Although Steve was unhappy with his character’s creative direction, Steve made the personal and unprofessional decision not to report to work to address his concerns.

Therefore, Stone Cold Steve Austin is no longer an active member of WWE’s talent roster.

I don't think he actually left the WWE so much as he was dismissed. That's a hell of a difference.

In a way, I think this is good. WWE is showing that not even Steve Austin can get away with shit like that. But on the other hand, it's terrible because they have lost perhaps the greatest superstar of this era.

The bottom line is that I am very upset about Austin being gone. And it's a damn good thing Brock Lesnar is around. If he wasn't, I wouldn't have a standout favorite wrestler.

I don't know so much that it's his ego. But his decision to leave the RAW show without notice or company approval was unprofessional. So he wasn't exactly thinking straight, from the sound of it.

brock can be a badass, but if he continues to pummel those smaller than him, big frickin deal, this would have got him what he needed to truly be the next big thing. wwe cannot rely on scsa forever, especially with his neck and knee problems

KB, please tell me why he is "over-hyped." It would make the debate better.

I believe Brock is only "over-hyped" because he is a heel and because he gets help from Paul Heyman. I truly believe that if he was able to go at Bubba Dudley at his full ability and not have his credibility damaged by the presence of Paul Heyman at his side, he would easily appear as good as he is said to be.

But I don't know if Brock could beat Austin. I wish we could've found out. I mean, they were supposed to face off on RAW, weren't they?

I don't see why he shouldn't be that high in the ranks. If he has the talent, why the hell not put him up there with the big boys?
